Echt niet. Vandaag enkel Heidfeld...quote:
quote:Nick Heidfeld was not amused at the end of Wednesday's test at Jerez. The German busied himself with slicks and the aero package that comes under the rules for the 2009 Formula One season. The 2009 rules bring only half the downforce in comparison with today's rules and with slicks that are not up to temperature it is getting even worse. Heidfeld, who was the slowest man on track, was all but positive about the proposed changes for 2009.
Speaking with GPUpdate.net he said about his day of testing: "Today (Wednesday), we ran with the 2009 downforce, which will be around half as effective as the one we're driving with this season. If the slicks return, they won't give as much grip as you'd expect as we will also lose grip as there is less downforce, so we will be slower in 2009.
"If it will stay like this and the tyres will stay like this, it will be extremely dangerous in 2009. On my outlap I even thought about coming back in, because there were so many drivers flying past me. You feel like you're standing still compared to the others and it's very easy to spin the car. It's very, very dangerous."
Heidfeld suggest a better tyre might be the trick for more downforce in 2009 but isn't sure if that is going to happen. "Bridgestone could turn this around by making better tyres, but the question is: does it make sense for them?" Heidfeld said. "If there's another tyre supplier and there is competition, it would be solved. If the tyres become softer, it will help a lot. But I'm not a tyre expert, maybe the mixture of the compound should change, but like this, it will be extremely dangerous. They should change the tyres, or they should allow tyre heaters for 2009."
Next season the FIA will bann traction control on cars to make the races more interesting. But with the aero rules for 2009 and perhaps the return of slicks Heidfeld believes things won't get much easier. "Without traction control it's even worse, but if we would run with traction control (in 2009), it would still be very, very difficult. Even if the tyres are hot, you have so little grip with the new package. We have too much power and too little grip. I don't like it at all," a disappointed Heidfeld said.
Tis maar goed dat ie m bestuurd, en niet eraan sleuteltquote:Heidfeld suggest a better tyre might be the trick for more downforce

Adam Cooper op SpeedTVquote:Sources suggest that McLaren’s case was seriously weakened by a press briefing given on its behalf by its future PR boss, Matt Bishop. Although he is still a journalist and does not join the team until January, Bishop recently syndicated an e-mail to selected Internet and newspaper journalists outlining McLaren’s side of the story, with details about how much information was involved and who within Renault had seen it.
Some of that information proved to be inaccurate, notably the number of drawings involved, which has now been confirmed as four. At the behest of the FIA last night the team issued a clarification of certain points, although Bishop was not named as the journalist concerned. The contents of the briefing were discussed extensively in the hearing.
Flavio Briatore has made no secret of the fact that his team might consider legal action in response, and the fact that Renault has been found not guilty of using that information to improve its car would seem lend weight to his case.

You then used that information in the simulator, did you not?
Pedro DE LA ROSA
No, but I must tell you why. When Mike told me the figure, it was so radically different from ours
that there was no way that our care could ever achieve that. The whole philosophy of our car was
. We had managed to . There was no point. At the previous stage, I thought the information might be important and that we could try it in the simulator, but then the figures were so different.

Ralf Schumacher testing for Force IndiaRalf Schumacher has said he is not interested in driving for the Force India team after testing for them at Jerez on Thursday.
The German, the younger brother of seven-time champion Michael, was believed to be one of the drivers in contention for the remaining seat at Force India following his exit from Toyota.
Schumacher tested for the team for the first time in Jerez yesterday, but endured a troubled day and finished at the bottom of the times.
Giancarlo Fisichella and Franck Montagny also tested for Force India this week, but Schumacher said the test was not a shoot-out.
He admitted, however, that he is not interested in racing for the Silverstone-based squad.
"It was not shoot-out," Schumacher told autosport.com after testing for the team. "I don't think I will be driving for Force India. I want to achieve something and I don't think I can do that with Force India.
"I am going home now and we will see."
06 December 2007
McLaren has issued a statement clarifying the spy claims against Renault after the FIA asked the team to correct certain factual errors contained in a press briefing given on the team's behalf by one journalist concerning Renault.
The statement read as follows: In our briefing, we stated that there were 18 witness statements from Renault employees admitting that they had viewed McLaren confidential information. To the extent that this implied that 18 different Renault employees admitted viewing McLaren confidential information it was inaccurate. 13 Renault F1 employees provided 18 witness statements and 9 of them have so far admitted they viewed and discussed the confidential technical information belonging to McLaren.
We stated that the confidential information on computer disks was uploaded onto 11 Renault computers. This is not accurate. Mr Mackereth copied information onto 11 computer disks. The information on these 11 computer disks was uploaded by Renault IT staff in September 2006 onto Renault's T: drive and then transferred by Mr Mackereth to his personal home directory stored on Renault's network server. A back up copy of the material on Mr Mackereth's personal directory was made onto an unknown number of Renault's back up servers/tapes.
Our briefing could have been interpreted as suggesting that the Renault employees who admitted sight of McLaren Confidential Information all viewed it on computer screens.
Only Mr Mackereth and Mr Hardie admit viewing McLaren Confidential Information on Mr Mackereth's computer. The other seven employees who have admitted seeing McLaren Confidential Information admit seeing it in the form of computer print outs or hard copy documents.
We said that the information on the 11 computer disks taken by Mr Mackereth included 780 individual drawings.
This was an error. The information taken by Mr Mackereth on floppy disks, in hard copy form and by email amounts to 762 pages when printed out. The 11 computer disks included 18 individual technical drawings. Mr Mackereth also admits that he took hard copy drawings of McLaren's dampers.
We said that the McLaren information amounted to the "entire technical blueprint of the 2006 and 2007 McLaren car".
This requires clarification. The position is that, the McLaren drawings plus the information in a confidential MP4 - 22A Specification document taken by Mr Mackereth constitute a technical definition of the fundamental layout of the 2007 McLaren car and the technical details of its innovative and performance enhancing systems.
We are pleased to assist the FIA in making the above clear in advance of tomorrow's hearing.
quote:Renault consider legal action
Briatore threatens legal action over "very damaging" allegations
The latest spying scandal to afflict Formula One may have yet more ramifications after Renault team boss Flavio Briatore threatened to take McLaren to court on charges of defamation.
The indications are that Renault may escape serious punishment in Thursday's World Motor Sport Council meeting into the affair after it emerged on Wednesday that McLaren's original accusations were factually incorrect.
Briatore told The Daily Express: "A lot of very bad things have been said about us by McLaren in the last few weeks, very damaging.
"We will be cleared and once the verdict is announced we will consider legal action. Our reputation has been defamed."
The Enstone-based outfit are courting free agent Fernando Alonso and the consensus within the paddock is that a favourable ruling from the WMSC is crucial to Renault's hopes of convincing the twice World Champion to return to the team.
Fallout
However, the fallout from the spying scandal runs far deeper than the skirmish between McLaren and Renault and Alonso's future.
McLaren themselves were fined $100 million and thrown out of the 2007 Constructors' Championship in September after they were found guilty of possessing confidential Ferrari information.
And FIA president Max Mosley has reiterated that F1's governing body will be watching McLaren like a hawk next season so as to ensure that the British team designs their 2008 car without using any Ferrari data.

quote:2. Summary of main findings
2.1. It emerges from the written and oral submissions made (and it is admitted by Renault) that different Renault engineers received and considered four confidential McLaren drawings from Mackereth. In this regard Renault admits a breach of Article 151(c) of the International Sporting Code.
2.2. Mackereth took a much more significant volume of information from McLaren including some confidential information, some information that was not proprietary to McLaren and some personal financial information. The WMSC can be concerned only with what Renault had access to (rather than what Mackereth took) from McLaren as only the former could impact the FIA Formula One World Championship ("the Championship").
2.3. The WMSC has concluded that of the four drawings actually viewed by Renault's engineers, three were either of no use to Renault or were not in fact used by Renault. The fourth drawing (a drawing of McLaren's so-called 'J-damper') was used by Renault to try to have the system that they thought McLaren was using declared illegal. This failed because Renault had certain fundamental misunderstandings about the operation of the 'J-damper' system. This suggests that Renault's sight of the 'J-damper' drawing did not give Renault enough information to understand how it worked. In these circumstances, an affect on the Championship cannot be established.
2.4. Some of the key elements that the WMSC has considered are set out below. In light of the strong imperative in the interests of the sport to issue a swift ruling, the following does not constitute an exhaustive list of the elements considered nor does it purport to be a summary of all of the evidence put before the WMSC.
