Al jarenlang fan van deze prachtige band maar er nooit toe gekomen om de Instrument DVD te kopen (want duur) Zag hem vanochtend staan voor ¤ 24,99 en dacht ach what the heck. Verzacht de pijn een beetje die onstaan is door het nog nooit live mogen aanschouwen van Fugazi. Hoop dat ze binnenkort weer eens naar Europa komen.

Bootleg DVD. Live in de TV studio in belgie. Goed opgenomen natuurlijk maar ook toendertijd goed van de TV opgenomen. Daarnaast 73 "Le Club Bataclan". Ooit opgenomen voor de franse TV. Deze opname is ook al oud terwijl ik op video een opname heb van de uitzending een paar jaar terug en die was meen ik iets beter qua geluid. Wel gaaf om te zien weer.
En nog "Shepperton Studios" met profi-film van de volgende nummers:
Watcher of the Skies, Dancing With The Moonlit Knight, I Know What I Like, The Musical Box, and Supper's Ready.
Deze is wel een stuk beter dan de opname die ik op videoband had.
Dan nog de vraag wneer ze er eens iets mee gaan doen. Wie heeft de mastertapes van dit bijvoorbeeld. Met name shepperton is zeer goed te gebruiken voor official release imho, MEt poetsen aan beeld en geluid moet toch wel een mooi resultaat neergezet kunnen worden. En wat zou er nog ergens op planken liggen?

Spirals of guitar; patters of bongos, drawn-out notes, and percussive jabs of cello; and waves of keyboards — both textural and confrontational — drift in and out of a jumble that often thrives on dub production techniques (reverb, echoing snares, unexpected surges of sound). This, the group's bizarrely titled full-length debut (stranger still are the song titles), is an incredibly creative fusion of several styles of music that winds up sounding like no one else in particular. Ik heb inderdaad de geremasterde versie gekocht. Het geluid en artwork zijn naar mijn mening heel mooi, een echte verbetering. Het enige nadeel is dat hij Copy Controlled is, maar daar heb ik wel een oplossing voor. Het klinks allemaal wat rouwer dan ik van de oudere live-cd's van Rush gewend ben, ze hebben nu gelukkig geen moeite gedaan het publiek weg te mixen. Prachtig om die enorme mensenmassa (120.000 man) te zien.
Opvallend dat er op de dvd relatief weinig aandacht is voor het visuele aspect, zeker in vergelijking met andere stadionconcerten. Geen overdreven lichtschow en andere grappen. Gewoon vooral aandacht voor de muziek; het blijft vooral een feest om naar Neil Peart te kijken. Veel afwisseling in oude en nieuwe nummers; bijna alle 17 studio cd's komen wel een keer langs. 28 nummers totaal !
Kortom :prima !
Ze moeten maar snel weer langs komen , het is te lang geleden dat ik ze gezien heb ( 88 en 92 )
