WE tv has cancelled The Divide after just one season.
Despite a cliffhanger end to the first season and story plans for Season 2 already in gestation, the network has decided not to move forward its first original scripted series, saying:

Dit weekend The Driver gekeken, goed verhaal en lekker snel uitgewerkt. Lijkt wel een soort actie van "kijk, een heel verhaal past ook in 3x 1 uur ipv 13 afleveringen in een seizoen".

THE WHISPERS
Soo Hugh (Under the Dome) en Steven Spielberg werken wederom samen voor de nieuwe science-fictionserie The Whispers. Deze serie is gebaseerd op het kortverhaal Zero Hour die schrijver Rad Bradbury plaatste in zijn verzamelboek The Illustrated Man uit het jaar 1951. De werktitel was “The Visitors”, maar later is het project dus hernoemd naar The Whispers.
Wat gebeurt er wanneer een alienras totaal onverwachts en compleet geruisloos de aarde probeert te veroveren door gebruik te maken van de meest onschuldige bewoners (lees: kinderen) van de hele planeet? Dat staat centraal in het verhaal van The Whispers. De voormalig FBI-agent Wes Lawrence (Barry Sloane) werkt nu voor het ministerie van Defensie en onderzoekt daar geheime bedreigingen voor de mensheid. Wanneer hij afreist naar de Algerijnse woestijn doet hij een mysterieuze ontdekking: de mensheid is niet langer het enige intelligente ras op aarde..
Lawrence staat voor de lastige taak om de wereldleiders te overtuigen van zijn vondst, hierin vindt hij steun bij FBI-agente Claire (Lily Rabe). Drie maanden geleden verloor, de in kinderen gespecialiseerde, Claire haar echtgenoot op onverklaarbare wijze. Zij ziet verband tussen beide zaken en helpt Lawrence met het bekend maken van zijn ontdekking. Ook voor Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes) is een grote rol weggelegd in The Whispers.

Vanavond de eerste 3 achter elkaar gezien (het is een miniserie van 8). Ontzettend aangrijpend. De dwarsverbandjes met de zaak van dat Engelse meisje dat in Portugal is kwijtgeraakt zijn niet te missen.quote:
