Goed nieuws lijkt mequote:PDC Unicorn Youth Tour revealed
The Professional Darts Corporation have announced a PDC Unicorn Youth Tour to be launched in 2011
The PDC have successfully staged the inaugural PDC Unicorn Under-21 World Championship this year, with Michael van Gerwen and Arron Monk to compete on Monday night in the final at Alexandra Palace.
The PDC Unicorn Youth Tour will comprise of 15 events, each with £2,000 prize money, to be played during PDC ProTour weekends, beginning in Derby on Saturday February 19.
Entry to the events will be open to all players aged between 14-21. Entry for events will be made via the PDC and full details of the schedule of events will be announced shortly.
In addition there will be a £30,000 PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship, and the prize money won will form an Order of Merit, from which players will qualify for PDC ProTour cards in 2012 and other rewards.
"The PDC realised that there was a void between players playing in Youth Academies around the country and then stepping onto the professional circuit in the PDC ProTour," said PDC Director Rod Harrington.
"The PDC Unicorn Youth Tour will be the perfect stepping stone not only in their playing careers but also to give the players of the future the experience of playing in a professional environment.
"I was so impressed with the standard of play in the PDC Unicorn Under-21 World Championship recently that it has only encouraged us to step forward with our plans for the PDC Unicorn Youth Tour."

Taylor was presented with the top honour at the Professional Darts Corporation's Annual Awards Dinner, held at The Dorchester in London when he took the Player of the Year title.
Taylor's success in the past 12 months since he won a 15th World Championship title included victories in the Rileys Darts Zones UK Open, StanJames.com World Matchplay, PartyPoker.net European Championship and Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts, where he hit a historic two nine-darters in the final against James Wade.
Taylor was also recognised for his contribution to darts over the past two decades with induction into the PDC Hall of Fame, where he joins the likes of legends Eric Bristow, John Lowe and Dennis Priestley.
Taylor, who took second place in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards last month, was also awarded the PDC Fans Player of the Year vote following an online poll on the PDC's official website, www.pdc.tv, to collect a trio of awards.
Ladbrokes.com World Darts Champion Adrian Lewis was awarded the Best Televised Performance of the Year award following his sensational display on Monday night, when he hit a nine-dart finish and 20 180s in defeating Gary Anderson to take the title at Alexandra Palace.
Lewis also collected a gold pin badge to recognise his perfect leg in the World Championship, as he joined Taylor, Raymond van Barneveld in the PDC's Nine-Dart Club.
Seven other players, Matt Clark, Andy Hamilton, Co Stompe, Simon Whitlock, Colin Lloyd, Jamie Caven and Mark Dudbdridge, received a silver pin badge to commemorate nine-darters in PDC ProTour events.
Whitlock's rise to seventh in the PDC Order of Merit following a fine first full year on the PDC circuit was rewarded with the PDPA Players' Player of the Year award as well as the Best PDC ProTour Player award, in recognition of six tournament wins and £61,300 prize money won in non-televised events.
Rugeley left-hander Mark Hylton, who qualified for the Daily Mirror Grand Slam of Darts and reached the last 16 of the World Championship, was named as the PDC Newcomer of the Year for his impact over the last 12 months since he became a professional.
PDC Unicorn Under-21 World Championship winner Arron Monk followed Monday's victory over Michael van Gerwen with the PDC Young Player of the Year award, having also reached 82nd in the PDC Order of Merit and qualified for the UK Open and Grand Slam of Darts in 2010.

quote:Het hoge woord is eruit: Holland vs The Rest of the World komt er maar gaat vanaf nu RTL7 International Masters heten.
Deelnemers Nr 1 t/m 6 Order of Merit:
Phil Taylor
Adrian Lewis
Gary Anderson
James Wade
Simon Whitlock
Terry Jenkins
Deelnemers Nederlanders Nr 1 t/m 6 (Order of Merit):
Raymond van Barneveld
Vincent van der Voort
Co Stompé
Jelle Klaasen
Michael van Gerwen
Roland Scholten
Barney vloog er in R2 uit. Hij verloor van Henderson met 6-2. Jelle Klaasen was in R3 klaar.

Fourth Roundquote:RAYMOND VAN BARNEVELD won his first Players Championship for over three years with a 6-2 defeat of John Part in the final of Saturday's tournament at the Moorways Centre in Debry.
The Dutch ace claimed the £6,000 title and his first ranking win since April 2008 in the Open Holland Masters with the success, which saw him make a winning return from a summer break in Spain.
Van Barneveld was pushed all the way to an 11th leg in three of his matches, but punishing Jamie Caven for misses in their second round contest, took out 106 to defeat Co Stompe and then edged out Steve Farmer in the quarter-finals.
He also defeated Adrian Bolitho and Brendan Dolan during the event, and a 6-4 win over Paul Nicholson in the semi-finals set up a tasty final against three-time World Champion Part.
Van Barneveld broke in the opening leg of the final and, after Part had levelled, took out a 13-darter to win the third and a brilliant 126 finish on the bull for the fourth - despite the Canadian hitting two 180s in the leg.
Part hit double 16 to take the fifth, but van Barneveld restored his two-leg advantage with a 12-darter, traded 180s with his opponent before landing a key double four to lead 5-2 and then sealed victory in style with a 156 finish.
Part was seeking to win a Players Championship for a second successive weekend - and his fourth event of the year - but had to settle for the £3,000 runner-up prize.
He had produced a moment of magic to win his semi-final against Simon Whitlock, taking out 126 on the bull for a 12-darter with the Australian sat on 45.
Part also overcame Gary Anderson 6-3 in the quarter-finals, and defeated Chris Thompson, Steve Brown - with a whitewash - and Michael Smith during the event.
Nicholson's semi-final appearance was his best display since a victory in Barnsley in June, while Whitlock was defeated in the last four for the third time in the last five Players Championships.
Anderson's run to the quarter-finals included a stunning whitewash win over Mark Dudbridge in the last 16, in which he used just 73 darts in picking up the 6-0 win with legs of 12, 11, 11, 13, 12 and 14 darts for a 123.5 average.
Farmer defeated in-form Wes Newton in the last 16 with a 6-5 triumph after the number one seed missed two match darts, while Mark Walsh came from 5-1 down to see off John Henderson in his run to the fourth round.

The 71-year old, whose voice has become synonymous with the sport, left the BBC in 1994 to broadcast for Sky Sports.
Waddell thanked fans for their best wishes via Twitter, saying "Bowel cancer's not a barrel of laughs so I'll be switching off from Twitter until things get better."
The Cambridge graduate is also a published author and screenwriter.
"He's not just an underdog, he's an underpuppy." [Before Keith Dellar's world title triumph in 1983]
Northumberland-born Waddell is well-loved for his colourful and excitable commentary style, with his best-known lines including "There's only one word for it - 'magic darts"'.
He also noted, while watching Eric Bristow become world champion: "When Alexander of Macedonia was 33, he cried salt tears because there were no more worlds to conquer... Bristow's only 27."
A statement from his manager Dick Allix read: "Following recent tests, Sid has unfortunately been diagnosed with bowel cancer. He is now undergoing treatment and will, regretfully, be unable to undertake any professional engagements for the time being.
"As treatment progresses, I will issue further statements. I would ask that everyone respects his privacy at this time."
Professional Darts Corporation chairman Barry Hearn said: "Sid is a hugely popular character throughout the sport of darts and I'm sure I speak on behalf of the PDC, our players and fans in wishing him a speedy and successful recovery.
"Our thoughts will be with him and his family as he begins his treatment."
Waddell, who began commentating on darts in 1978, was inducted in to the PDC Hall of Fame in 2008.
Outside of his commentary work, he has had 11 books published and wrote the sport-based BBC children's programmes Jossy's Giants and Sloggers, receiving a Screenwriter's Guild nomination for best scriptwriter for the latter.

THE AWARDSquote:PHIL TAYLOR was named as the PDC Player of the Year on Monday night, as Adrian Lewis, Gary Anderson, Justin Pipe and Dave Chisnall also picked up trophies at the PDC Annual Awards Dinner.
The stars of the sport gathered at The Dorchester on London's Park Lane for the annual ceremony to celebrate the achivements of the last year.
World number 12 Taylor saw his achievement in winning five major titles during 2011 - at the World Matchplay, European Championship, World Grand Prix, Championship League Darts and Grand Slam of Darts - recognised with the showpiece PDC Player of the Year Award.
Taylor was also voted as the PDC Fans' Player of the Year following an internet poll on the PDC's official website, www.pdc.tv, as he edged out Gary Anderson and Justin Pipe as the crowd favourite.
Pipe's rise into the world's top 32, which included three PDC ProTour titles, saw him recognised by his peers with the PDPA Players' Player of the Year award.
Anderson, meanwhile, won the Best PDC ProTour Player Award, having won seven Players Championships and UK Open Qualifiers during 2011 to claim £64,200 prize money in non-televised tournaments.
Holland's 22-year-old Michael van Gerwen was named as the PDC Young Player of the Year, having won four PDC Unicorn Youth Tour events during 2011 and reached the last 16 of the World Championship recently.
Dave Chisnall's outstanding debut season in the PDC was rewarded with the Best Newcomer Award, recognising his rise to 32nd in the PDC Order of Merit as he won a Players Championship and reached two major quarter-finals.
World Champion Adrian Lewis saw his thrilling comeback from 5-1 to defeat James Wade 6-5 in the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship semi-finals named as the PDC Televised Performance of the Year.
The Nine-Dart Club, which sees players who hit a perfect leg in PDC tournaments, welcomed a host of new members who achieved the feat in 2011, including John Part, Adrian Lewis, Brendan Dolan, Simon Whitlock and Phil Taylor from televised events.
A further 11 players, Dave Chisnall, John Henderson, Michael Smith, Wayne Atwood, Dennis Priestley, Simon Whitlock, Justin Pipe, Phil Taylor, Raymond van Barneveld, Wes Newton and Mark Webster, received a Silver Pin Badge to reward their achievements in non-televised events.
