Ik vind de graphics een beetje mixed bag, sommige dingen zijn heel mooi, ander weer precies hetzelfde als de NGC versie. Volgens mij hebben ze wat dingen zitten knippen en plakken uit de vorige versies.

Het mooie van dit moment is dat de filmpjes die langs komen steeds mooier worden

Holy crap. There was a lot of speculation at E3 about what Nintendo's WiiConnect24 service -- which would let your Wii download things from Nintendo and from other gamers even when the system is turned off -- might bring. Most people just said that maybe somebody could visit your Animal Crossing town and leave you a present or whatever. Yawn.
But check this out. In a new interview with Nikkei BP, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata says that the Wii will be able to download demos of new Nintendo DS games -- Nintendo DS games! while you sleep:
I'll give you a specific example we are planning for. Let's say your Wii is connected to the Internet in a mode that allows activation on a 24-hour basis. This would allow Nintendo to send monthly promotional demos for the DS, during the night, to the Wii consoles in each household. Users would wake up each morning, find the LED lamp on their Wii flashing, and know that Nintendo has sent them something. They would then be able to download the promotional demo from their Wii's to their Nintendo DS's.
How excited am I for this? Very.

Het lijkt mij dat dit juist net niet nodig is. Anders is een dergelijk 24 uurs verbinding onzin in mijn ogen. Aangezien de Wii met o.a. flash geheugen gaat werken verbruikt hij zeer weinig. Puur downloaden kan makkelijk als het apparaat in de "sleep" functie staat. Verder leek mij dit alleen maar logisch aangezien je userbase van een xbox360 dit als een leuke aanwinst vonden. Op de 360 is het als je hem aan hebt staan dat ze doorgaam maar de wii doet gewoon wat hij moet doen.
Zolang hij alleen maar de demo`s download die ik wil dan vind ik het geen verspilling van download space maar ik ga hem toch niet 24 hrs connecten.

As proof, Iwata cited the success of the DS as a reason for the Wii controller's existence. "When Nintendo opted for the dual screens for the DS, more people were shaking their heads," he said. "Yet the market turned out favorable to the DS...I feel that this had led to more people looking upon our new [Wii] controller favorably."
Still, the decision to go with the so-called "Wii-wand" form factor was a difficult one. "Some of our staff disagreed with changing it," said Iwata. "Yet after some hands-on time with the prototypes, we knew we had a working formula."
Iwata also told Tech On! that mass appeal was the main factor behind the decision to add a speaker to the Wii-wand. "We introduced it fairly recently," he said. "Households sporting 5.1 channel speakers will certainly be able to enjoy realistic sound, yet not all homes have such audio equipment."
Potential Wii-owners will likely be most interested in Iwata's comments on WiiConnect24, the Wii's online network. Unlike Xbox Live, which makes users download demos, WiiConnect24 will automatically deliver Wii and DS demos to any connected console--presumably at the user's discretion

Its not the next generation, its a new generation.
Heeft helemaal niets met de grafische kracht te maken, natuurlijk is het een nextgen console, maar niet een nextgen console op de manier die we gewend waren. Wil niet zeggen dat ie helemaal geen verbetering is tov de vorige console kwa power.

Virtual Console kan zeker belangrijk zijn. Het brand Nintendo en Mario is nog zo sterk, dat merk ik als ik mijn DS meeneem, dan beginnen er heel veel over de NES en over de SNES. Mensen die nu niet meer gamen.
