Ik bedoel dat het doel was de raketbeschietingen te stoppen/minimaliseren vanuit Libanon. Dat is gelukt met raketbeschietingen vanuit Gaza, alhoewel daar inderdaad tevens het doel de gijzelaars terug te halen tot nu toe slechts deels gelukt is. Goed nieuws v.w.b. Nasrallah, kan er in ieder geval niet rouwig om zijn. Wat Israel wel meeheeft in al deze operaties is dat nagenoeg alle soennitische landen Iran zat zijn en als een bedreiging zin voor hun eigen nationale stabiliteit.

Dat gezegd hebbende is het belangrijkste niet hoe het begint maar hoe dit eindigt. De hele reeks operaties van de piepers tot de eliminatie van de nu tot fysiek samenkomen gedwongen leiders is niet minder dan briljant te noemen, maar als het straks verder gaat met meer schade voor Israël en überhaupt de hele regio die nog verder in puin gaat, dan is deze gang van zaken alleen nog leuk voor een vermelding in de geschiedenisboeken.
En wat is er in al die tijd gebeurd? Gewoon hetzelfde als altijd, wat er nu ook gaande is. Een duurzame oplossing heeft Israël veel moeite mee.
