Net nadat hij gestorven was deed het Kremlin er alles aan om alles dat met hem te maken had te stoppen en te verdoezelen. Mensen werden gearresteerd voor het neerleggen van bloemen, herdenkingsbijeenkomsten werden uit elkaar gedreven en herdenkingsplekken vernield/weggehaald. Zijn begrafenis was zwaar beveiligd en er waren veel strenge regels aan verbonden over wat wel mocht en wat niet.quote:

Voor het Kremlin is hij geen verzetsheld maar een verrader. Voor een te grote groep is hij inderdaad een verzetsheld, maar voor de verkeerde redenen.

The Ukrainian man, named as Oleksandr D., sent messages to a Polish citizen encouraging him to help foreign intelligence, Jacek Dobrzynski, the spokesperson of the minister coordinating special services said in a statement.
"This activity was to consist in sharing photos of military vehicles that were intended to help Ukraine and crossed the Polish-Ukrainian border," Dobrzynski said.
"In exchange for the information provided, the Polish citizen was to receive a remuneration of 15,000 euros."
A court agreed to a request from the prosecutor to hold the suspect in pre-trial detention for three months. If found guilty he could face up to eight years in prison.

Met de plannen die zij hebben om de grens te beveiligen zal het erg moeilijk worden om de grens over te komen.
