The interception by the SBU confirms that the Kakhovskaya HPP was blown up by a subversive group of occupiers
The invaders wanted to blackmail Ukraine by blowing up the dam and staged a man-made disaster in the south of our country.
The occupiers tell each other about this in a telephone conversation that was intercepted by the SBU.
"They (the Ukrainian side, note) didn't screw up there. Our sabotage group is there. They wanted to scare people with this dam. It didn't go according to plan, but more than they planned," says a Russian military officer.
He also describes the consequences of this disaster, which the Russian Federation tries to hide: rising water levels, flooding of territories and destruction.
We remind you that the Security Service of Ukraine has opened criminal proceedings on the fact of a war crime committed by the Russian Federation.
"By blowing up the Kakhovskaya HPP dam, the Russian Federation finally proved that it is a threat to the entire civilized world. After all, only a real terrorist state can arrange a man-made and ecological catastrophe of this level. And she will definitely answer for it - both on the battlefield and in international courts. Our task is to bring to justice not only the leaders of Putin's regime, but also the ordinary perpetrators of crimes," stressed the head of the SBU, Vasyl Malyuk.
The investigation was started under two articles of the Criminal Code - Art. 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war) and Art. 441 (ecocide).

"Everything is just beginning," Kremlin-backed official says as Ukraine probes Russian defences in the south
There is “fierce fighting” on Ukraine’s southern front as Kyiv’s troops continue to probe Russian defenses, a Kremlin-backed official in the Zaporizhzhia region has told Russian state media.
“The Ukrainian Armed Forces are making new attempts to attack in different parts of the front. Our troops are doing everything possible to prevent a breakthrough deep into the defense line,” Vladimir Rogov told RIA Novosti.
Rogov – who described what was happening as a “counteroffensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces” – warned in separate comments on Telegram: “Everything is just beginning."
The Ukrainians have “not yet engaged its main reserves” in the fight there, he said.
Kyiv has repeatedly said that the start of any large-scale counteroffensive will not be announced and has not commented on any moves on the southern front overnight.
In another Telegram post on Friday morning, Rogov claimed that Russian units had thwarted a Ukrainian attempt to push back Russian troops near Orikhiv, about 40 miles southeast of Zaporizhzhia.
CNN is unable to verify the battlefield account and there is little, if any, independent reporting from the front lines.
Russia’s ministry of defense reported heavy fighting in southern and eastern Ukraine in its update on Friday morning.
