Dat Pompeo dat zei was omdat door een reporter de vraag werd gesteld of de overgang soepeltjes zou gaan verlopen in het geval dat Biden zou winnen. Daar had men nl niet zoveel vertrouwen in gezien Trump's houding en dat is ook uitgekomen. Pompeo antwoordde op deze manier omdat hij vertrouwen wilde uitstralen dat Trump verkozen zou worden en natuurlijk liever niet wilde zeggen dat hij daar ook geen vertrouwen in had als hij zou verliezen
