Dat zou je kunnen zeggen, maar dat zou ik een erg rare opmerking vinden, aangezien Obama meer bommen met drones heeft gegooid in zijn eerste jaar als president dan Bush in zijn gehele presidentiële carrière. Interessant rapport van Amnesty hierover (vanaf pagina 13 is vooral relevant voor deze post).
Maar je stellingen kloppen mijns insziens gewoon niet. De president bepaalt het drone-gebruik niet echt, het is het pentagon dat het voorstelt en de huidige president zet dan meestal gewoon zijn handtekeningetje. Had McCain gewonnen in 2008, dan had hij ook de drone aanvallen opgevoerd. Wat dat betreft zit er weinig verschil.
Waarom je dit echter denkt terug te voeren tot atoombommen
Ten eerste is de Southern switch pas ná de 2e WO uitgevoerd, jeweetz, het moment waarop de republikeinen besloten alle wappies in hun gelederen te lokken en vervolgens de standpunten van die wappies gingen overnemen, terwijl de democraten al die wappies dus kwijtraakten en juist de wat meer progressief liberale kant uitgingen. Voor zover je daarvan kon spreken in die tijd, het bleven hyperkapitalistische Amerikanen natuurlijk.
En ik bekritiseer niet zozeer je doofpot beleid; ik geef gradaties aan. Onder Obama kwamen de rapporten over casualties naar buiten, al vonden ze dat bij het pentagon/WH niet zo prettig, dus werkten ze het tegen. Trump stopte echter expliciet met het stoppen van tellen van slachtoffers zelfs. En uiteraard deed híj weer meer drone aanvallen dan Obama ooit deed. Wat dus dat voortschrijdende techniek impliceert (samen met GOP oorlogsretoriek uiteraard, de frame dat de GOP vredelievender is dan de dems is natuurlijk een beetje gekkigheid. Het liefst had Trump ook de hele familie uitgemoord van een 'terrorist' immers.). De eerstvolgende oorlog van de VS zal wederom een ophoging betekenen.

Waarop? Hij zou bekend moeten zijn dat California minimaal 50 % democratisch is. Ze hebben getalsmatig te weinig republikeinen (29%) om enig impact te maken. Vaak genoeg herhalen dat er fraude is gepleegd en de sukkels gaan wel twijfelen en willen vervolgens een systeem dat volgens de GOP/Trumpisten/Fascisten wel zal werken. En het bewijs voor get werken van het Trumpsysteem is dat de Dems dan niet winnen. En dat kan niet door fraude komen, want daar hebben ze juist tegen geageerd.

“I continually reminded him,” General Milley is quoted as saying, “depending on where and what you strike, you could find yourself at war.”
Later that day, General Milley spoke to Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who was growing increasingly concerned Mr. Trump would lash out and use military force.
“This is bad, but who knows what he might do?” Ms. Pelosi said. “He’s crazy. You know he’s crazy. He’s been crazy for a long time. So don’t say you don’t know what his state of mind is.”
“Madam Speaker,” General Milley said, “I agree with you on everything.”
General Milley, who as the president’s top military adviser is not in the chain of command, tried to reassure Ms. Pelosi that he could stop Mr. Trump.
“The one thing I can guarantee is that as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, I want you to know that — I want you to know this in your heart of hearts, I can guarantee you 110 percent that the military, use of military power, whether it’s nuclear or a strike in a foreign country of any kind, we’re not going to do anything illegal or crazy,” he said.
“Well,” Ms. Pelosi said, “what do you mean, illegal or crazy?”
“I can give you my word,” General Milley said. “The best I can do is give you my word and I’m going to prevent anything like that in the United States military.”
After speaking to Ms. Pelosi, General Milley convened a meeting in a war room at the Pentagon with the military’s top commanders, telling them that he wanted to go over the longstanding procedures for launching a nuclear weapon. The general reminded the commanders that only the president could order such a strike and that General Milley needed to be directly involved.
“If you get calls,” General Milley said, “no matter who they’re from, there’s a process here, there’s a procedure. No matter what you’re told, you do the procedure. You do the process. And I’m part of that procedure. You’ve got to make sure that the right people are on the net.”
The general added: “The strict procedures are explicitly designed to avoid inadvertent mistakes or accident or nefarious, unintentional, illegal, immoral, unethical launching of the world’s most dangerous weapons.”
Then, he went around the room and asked each officer to confirm that they understood what he was saying.

"You've got to return to Washington and make a dramatic return today," Bannon told Trump, according to the book. "You've got to call Pence off the fucking ski slopes and get him back here today. This is a crisis."
The authors write that Bannon told Trump that January 6 was "the moment for reckoning."
"People are going to go, 'What the fuck is going on here?' " Bannon believed. "We're going to bury Biden on January 6th, fucking bury him," Bannon said.
