Krijgt veel reacties (logischerwijs). Veel tegenstanders maar ook mensen die het met hem eens zijn. Hij reageert ook gewoon - erg gevat en grappig - op reacties van mensen die het niet met hem eens zijn.

Me dunkt, dat het in Amerika in sommige gebieden wel eens helemaal kan escaleren. Escaleren als in rellen en groepen mensen die zich verenigen.

In zo'n situatie de voordeur openzetten is overdreven, maar volledig weerloos wachten wil denk ik niemand. Ik wil prima meegaan dat het een bijzonder dom idee is, maar wat wel wijsheid is weet ik niet. Nu houd ik mijn mogelijkheden nog open

De medische voorzieningen in Europa zijn veel meer wijdverspreid, veel uitgebreider en veel efficiënter. Voorzieningen in de VS zitten dichter bij elkaar, zijn kleinschaliger en veel duurder.
Ook kunnen heel veel burgers in de VS het simpelweg niet veroorloven om langdurig ziek te zijn of gecompliceerde behandelingen te betalen.

Het zou mij niet verbazen als het vele malen erger gaat worden in de VS als in Europa.

Investigators arrested a California train engineer Tuesday after he allegedly derailed a train in a bid to crash into the USNS Mercy, the hospital ship treating non-COVID-19 patients at the Port of Los Angeles to lessen the burden on area hospitals, prosecutors said.

Eduardo Moreno, 44, was expected to appear in court Wednesday for arraignment on train wrecking charges.

Around 1 p.m. Tuesday, Moreno allegedly ran the train at full speed off the end of the tracks near the Navy medical boat, smashing through several concrete and chain barriers, before sliding through a parking lot nearly 250 yards from the Mercy, according to the criminal complaint.

No one was injured and the boat wasn't damaged, however, the train leaked a substantial amount of fuel, the complaint said.

A California Highway Patrol officer caught Moreno as he allegedly tried to escape from the scene, according to the complaint. Moreno allegedly told officers and FBI investigators that he deliberately derailed the train because he was suspicious of the Mercy's intentions and thought it was actually part of a government takeover, the complaint said.

"Moreno stated that he acted alone and had not pre-planned the attempted attack," according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Central District of California. "While admitting to intentionally derailing and crashing the train, he said he knew it would bring media attention and 'people could see for themselves,' referring to the Mercy."

In an interview with FBI agents, Moreno stated that "he did it out of the desire to ‘wake people up,’" according to the complaint.

Investigators are still reviewing surveillance footage from the scene, including inside the locomotive.

China has officially reported 82,000 cases and 3,300 deaths, lower than some nations whose outbreaks started later, such as the U.S. Wuhan, where the virus first broke out, reported 2,535 deaths, but over the course of two days during the crisis, just one of the city’s eight mortuaries received shipments of 5,000 urns to carry ashes of the deceased, according to Shanghaiist.

Aylward himself was thrust into the public spotlight last week after he appeared to pretend he couldn’t hear a reporter when she implied Taiwan was a separate country from China. He cancelled the call when she repeated the question.

Taiwan is one of the few Western-style democracies near China, and China’s communist government has long insisted that the international community treat Taiwan as a part of “greater China,” despite having separate governments.

The WHO does not allow Taiwan to be a member state. The reporter asked whether that policy might change during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Will the WHO reconsider Taiwan’s membership?” the reporter asked.

The footage shows that Aylward initially doesn’t react, appearing to pretend he couldn’t hear the question. When the reporter prompts him again, he claims outright he didn’t hear the question, but quickly requests that she “move on to another one.”

When the reporter asks the question again Alyward canceled the call.
