Het is wachten tot de boze tweets komen.quote:Trump Really Wanted A$AP Rocky to Personally Thank Him. But Rocky Stopped Returning his Texts.
The White House had reportedly hoped Trump's advocacy for Rocky would help his image in the black community.
President Donald Trump reportedly wanted rapper ASAP Rocky to issue a public “thank you” to the president for his somewhat futile attempts to pressure the Swedish government to release the rapper from jail.
But Rocky refused, and stopped returning texts from the White House after he got out.
(..)
And Rocky’s team had promised to thank Trump’s people. “If a serial killer gets Rocky out of jail, I would have no problem saying thank you to the serial killer,” Rocky’s manager reportedly told Trump’s surrogates.
But once Rocky was out, his manager started making excuses. He said the rapper was tired, and needed time to travel and rest. Within two days after he was freed, Rocky’s team stopped responding to text messages from Trump’s people altogether.
Rocky wouldn’t even thank the White House behind the scenes.

quote:Attorneys for Deutsche Bank and Capital One repeatedly refused to tell a federal appeals court Friday whether the banks have President Trump’s tax returns, citing “contractual obligations” for rebuffing the court’s questions.
Trump is appealing a district court ruling that cleared the way for the banks to hand over years of financial records from the president, his three eldest children and the president’s companies to two House committees.
Toward the end of Friday’s hearing, the three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit considering the appeal asked the banks’ attorneys whether the documents subject to the subpoenas could potentially include the president’s tax returns.
“I am not asking you for the content" of the returns, Judge Jon O. Newman said.
“We’re not in a position to answer that question,” said Raphael Prober, the attorney for Deutsche Bank, the president’s largest creditor.
“It is a fairly important question in this case,” Newman said.
Prober and Capital One’s attorney, James Murphy, both said “contractual obligations" prevented the banks from answering the judges’ questions.
As the judges appeared to grow frustrated by the attorneys’ resistance, Judge Peter Hall added: “Should we go to court and seek an order? I’m serious. We need to know.”
The banks, which have not publicly taken a position on Trump’s efforts to block the subpoenas, agreed to provide the appeals court a letter within 48 hours addressing the matter, but it was unclear what the letters would specify or whether they would be made public.

Ah het klopt dus:quote:Trump does not have the authority to “duly order” companies to leave China, according to Jennifer Hillman, a Georgetown University law professor and trade expert at the Council on Foreign Relations.
He does have power under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act to prevent future transfers of funds to China, “but only if he has first made a lawful declaration that a national emergency exists,” she said.
Congress could terminate the declaration if it wishes, she said.
“Moreover, even if all this happened, it would not provide authority over all of the U.S. investments that have already been made in China,” Hillman said.
Other trade experts said Trump does have powerful tools at his disposal to encourage companies to leave.
