Make no bones about it: David Boreanaz will be on CBS next season.

Ahead of its 2017-18 schedule unveiling next week, the Eye net has handed out formal series orders to four dramas, including the Boreanaz-fronted Seal Team. Also scoring pickups: Alan Cumming’s Instinct, Shemar Moore’s S.W.A.T. and Jeremy Piven’s Wisdom of the Crowd.

On the comedy side, CBS has OK’d the family satire 9JKL starring Royal Pains‘ Mark Feuerstein and the time-tripping sitcom Me, Myself & I starring Saturday Night Live’s Bobby Moynihan. The duo join the already-ordered Big Bang Theory prequel spinoff Young Sheldon.

INSTINCT

SEAL TEAM

Logline: Follows the professional and personal lives of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs as they train, plan and execute the most dangerous, high stakes missions our country can ask of them.

S.W.A.T.

Logline: A family comedy inspired by a time in Mark Feuerstein’s adult life when he lived in apartment 9K in the building he grew up in, sandwiched between his doting parents’ apartment, 9J, and his brother, sister-in-law and their baby’s apartment, 9L, and his attempts to set boundaries with his intrusive but well-meaning family.

Logline: A single-camera comedy examining one man’s life over a 50-year span. The show will focus on three distinct periods in his life – as a 14-year-old in 1991, a 40-year-old in present day, and a 65-year-old in 2042.

VR Drama Reverie, Starring Sarah Shahi and Dennis Haysbert, Ordered at NBC

One could say that NBC is getting into “virtual reality-TV” programming, by granting a series order to Reverie, a new drama starring Sarah Shahi (Person of Interest) and Dennis Haysbert (24).

From Extant creator Mickey Fisher, the thriller follows Mara Kint (Shahi), a former hostage negotiator and expert on human behavior who became a college professor after facing an unimaginable personal tragedy. But when she’s brought in to save people who have lost themselves in a highly advanced virtual-reality program in which you can literally live your dreams, “she finds that in saving others, she may actually have discovered a way to save herself.”

Haysbert plays Mara’s former boss, now the security chief for the virtual reality company, Reverie, while the cast also includes Sendhil Ramamurthy (Covert Affairs), Jessica Lu (Awkward) and Kathryn Morris (Cold Case).

Jaume Collet-Serra (The Shallows) directed the pilot and will serve as an executive producer alongside Fisher, Brooklyn Weaver, Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey.

Damnation, From Longmire Producer, Ordered to Series at USA Network

There will be blood — and Damnation — in USA Network’s newest original series.

Damnation, created by Longmire producer Tony Tost, has been greenlit officially at the basic cable network, TVLine has learned. The hour-long drama is described as a 1930s-set saga about the “mythic conflict and bloody struggle between big money and the downtrodden, God and greed” and “charlatans and prophets” in America’s heartland.

The pilot introduces viewers to Seth Davenport (Ripper Street‘s Killian Scott), a man who poses as a small town Iowa preacher in an effort to start a “full-blown insurrection against the status quo,” per the network synopsis. Creeley Turner (Quarry‘s Logan Marshall-Green), a professional strikebreaker who shares a “secret, bloody past” with Seth, is hired by an industrialist tycoon to prevent a potential uprising.

Tost serves as an executive producer on the project, alongside Guymon Casady (Game of Thrones), James Mangold (Zoo) and Daniel Rappaport (Fastlane). Oscar-nominated director David MacKenzie (Hell or High Water) directed the pilot.

Damnation is set to debut on USA Network in October. What’s more, Netflix, which is co-producing the drama with Universal Cable Productions, will be the exclusive home to the series outside of the United States.

CBS Greenlights By the Book, Starring David Krumholtz and Jay R. Ferguson

Jay R. Ferguson wasn’t out of work long: His ABC comedy The Real O’Neals‘ was cancelled Thursday, and his new CBS sitcom By the Book was ordered to series Friday, TVLine has learned.

Ferguson and David Krumholtz (Numb3rs) will star in the multi-cam series — formerly known as Living Biblically — from Patrick Walsh, The Big Bang Theory‘s Johnny Galecki and others.

The series, based on the bestselling book by A.J. Jacobs, follows a modern-day man who chooses to live his life according to the Bible.

The cast also includes Ian Gomez (Supergirl, Cougar Town), Camryn Manheim (The Practice), Lindsey Kraft (Getting On) and Tony Rock (Everybody Hates Chris).

ABC Orders Deception, Splitting Up Together to Series

ABC has waved its magic wand and added a pair of new series to its primetime lineup.

The network has ordered magician drama Deception and divorce sitcom Splitting Up Together to series, TVLine has learned.

Deception stars Jack Cutmore-Scott (Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life) as a disgraced magician who puts his skills of deception and influence to work as a FBI consultant, helping the feds catch the world’s most elusive criminals.

Splitting Up Together stars Jenna Fischer (The Office) and Oliver Hudson (Scream Queens) as a divorced couple whose relationship improves dramatically after they’re officially split up.

Grey's Anatomy Spinoff About Firefighters Nabs Series Order at ABC

ABC is expanding the Grey’s Anatomy franchise yet again.

Four years after Grey’s spinoff Private Practice ended its run, the network has placed a series order for yet another offshoot, this one revolving around Seattle firefighters.

The series, penned by longtime Grey’s EP Stacy McKee, is set to bow in early 2018, presumably after How to Get Away With Murder ends its season.

“No one can interweave the jeopardy firefighters face in the line of duty with the drama in their personal lives quite like Shonda [Rhimes], and Grey’s signature Seattle setting is the perfect backdrop for this exciting spinoff,” said ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey in a statement.

Daniel Radcliffe-Led Anthology Comedy Snags Series Order at TBS

Harry Potter is entering the #PeakTV realm.

TBS has handed a seven-episode series order to Miracle Workers, an anthology comedy starring Daniel Radcliffe and Owen Wilson and exec-produced by Saturday Night Live boss Lorne Michaels.

Scheduled to launch on TBS in 2018, the first season of Miracle Workers is being billed as a “Heaven-set workplace comedy” in which Radcliffe will play Craig, a low level angel responsible for handling all of humanity’s prayers. Wilson will portray Craig’s boss, God, who has pretty much checked out to focus on his favorite hobbies. To prevent Earth’s destruction, Craig must achieve his most impossible miracle to date

“Having Daniel Radcliffe and Owen Wilson join the TBS family is proof of the continued evolution of this comedy brand asthe home of the most creative minds in the business,” said Brett Weitz, executive vice president of original programming for TBS in a statement.

Radcliffe’s previous TV work is pretty much limited to the UK comedy A Young Doctor’s Notebook, in which he starred alongside Jon Hamm for two seasons.
