Al Aqsa University, a public university in Gaza, has introduced an Islamic dress code for women. After being characterized for more than 20 years by political and intellectual diversity, female students are now bound to adhere to a strict dress code, including an abaya (cloak) and hijab (veil) while on campus.

Hoe kunnen ze dit ontkennen

Volgens mij was iedereen het er wel over eens dat ze die raketten opslaan en afschieten vanuit woonwijken.

Vanuit militair oogpunt zeer te begrijpen want als ze een legerbasis bouwen is die binnen een uur plat.

Wat mij betreft streven zowel Hamas als de rechtse partijen / bewegingen binnen de Israelische politiek hetzelfde doel na, alleen allebei op de verschillende manieren.

Hamas wil vernietiging van Israel (lees: de joden), en het gebied daar uiteindelijk voor de 'moslims' maken, maar kan wat dat betreft natuurlijk weinig uithalen met die kleine kutraketjes van hen, hun veel te extremische karakter en het (terechte) gebrek aan diplomatieke steun vanuit de rest van de wereld.
Veel mensen daar zijn helaas zo stom en wanhopig om te geloven dat Hamas iets kan betekenen voor hen, terwijl de realiteit is dat andere moslimlanden geen zin en durf hebben om zich echt met de Palestijnse kwestie te bemoeien.

De 'rechterflank' in Israel is al jaren bezig om geleidelijk aan de betwiste gebieden verder te 'annexeren' door continue nieuwe nederzettingen te bouwen. Ze zeggen zogenaamd wel dat ze 'vrede' en een 'twee staten-oplossing' willen, maar ze gaan tussen die schijnbesprekingen en bombardementen op Gaza rustig door met bouwen op gebied wat staatsrechtelijk betwist is. Ze weten dat ze door steun vanuit de diaspora en de buitenlandse lobby toch grotendeels hun gang kunnen blijven gaan.
Dit gaat zo door tot het moment er komt dat die betwiste gebieden zo volgebouwd zijn met Israelische nederzettingen, dat ze kunnen zeggen: sorry, het gebied is zo versplinterd en er is ruimtelijk gezien geen mogelijkheid tot een aparte staat voor de Palestijnen. Koppel dat aan bestaande discriminerende wetgeving ten opzichte van minderheidsgroepen in Israel (lees: arabieren) en de uitkomst is ��n grotendeels Joods Israel in dat gebied.

Hamas denkt op een 'barbaarse', gewelddadige, guerilla-achtige wijze hun doel te kunnen bereiken, terwijl 'rechts Israel' dit op een meer sneaky, zogenaamd diplomatieke, maar wat mij betreft rechtsmatig gezien even illegale wijze doet.

"Een andere optie is om een nieuw grondoffensief te beginnen, maar daar zitten beide partijen niet op te wachten. De scholen moeten weer opengaan, het leven moet door", zegt Rechess.

De oorlog tussen Hamas en Isra�l begon op 8 juli. Aan Palestijnse kant kwamen meer dan 2000 mensen om het leven, aan Isra�lische zijde vielen 67 doden.
