Boots of missing Turkish pilots found
ISTANBUL
Two pairs of boots belonging to the missing pilots of a downed Turkish jet have been found, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said during a meeting with opposition leaders.
The prime minister showed the photos of the boots to opposition leaders during the meeting, daily Hürriyet reported.
There were no signs of any parachutes, and the pilots may not have used their ejection seats, according the information given by the prime minister.
Turkish naval and air forces have been attempting to locate Capt. Gökhan Ertan and Lt. Hüseyin Aksoy since their jet was hit by Syrian forces in international waters on June 22.
A vessel equipped with the technology necessary to conduct a more detailed search of the area has already been dispatched to the area to assist ongoing efforts by Turkish and Syrian coastguard boats.

Volgens de Turkse krant Vatan gaan er geruchten op Twitter dat Turkish Armed Forces die vrij hebben, terug worden geroepen.

Ikzelf denk dat Turkije het NAVO-overleg afwacht (dinsdag). Indien steun van NAVO dan mag Syrië zijn borst nat maken.

Turkey said on Monday that Syrian forces had fired at a second Turkish plane which was searching for an F-4 reconnaissance jet shot down by Syria last week, but the second plane was not brought down.
Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc told a news conference that Turkey would protect itself, within the framework of international law, against what it called Syria's "hostile action" of downing its warplane last week. He said at the end of a seven-hour cabinet meeting on the incident that Syria's downing of the reconnaissance jet would "not go unpunished." (Reuters) (Ynet)
