Who The F*** Are Arctic Monkeys? De band
De band bestaat uit vier leden:

Alex Turner: gitaar, zang.

Jamie Cook: gitaar.

Nick O'Malley: basgitaar.

Matthew Helders: drums.



Op de officiele website van de Arctic Monkeys is in juni 2006 bekendgemaakt dat Andy Nicholson, de basgitarist, de band definitief heeft verlaten. Nick O\\\'Malley, de persoon die ook al voor Nicholson inviel tijdens de tour door de Verenigde Staten, neemt zijn plaats nu definitief in.

I Bet That They Sound Good On The Dancefloor Bio De band werd in 2002 opgericht en kent invloeden van bands als The Jam, The Clash en Pulp. Eind 2004 steeg hun populariteit in het Verenigd Koninkrijk enorm nadat ze hun demo\\\'s op internet begonnen aan te bieden en de Britse tabloids, het altijd even objectieve NME en BCC Radio 1 aandacht aan de band begonnen te schenken. In 2005 wisten ze op te vallen door met hun debuutsingle I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor op de eerste plaats binnen te komen in de UK Singles Chart. Hun debuutalbum dat uitkwam in januari 2006 is nu al het best verkopende debuutalbum ooit in de UK. De jongens houden het hoofd echter koel, ze grapten zelf dat tegen april iedereen hen wel vergeten zal zijn. De vrouw die in hun tweede single When The Sun Goes Down voorkomt, komt ook voor in de twee korte filmpjes Scummy Man. In 2006 was de nieuwste Britse hype te bewonderen op Rock Werchter, Pukkelpop en Lowlands. In 2007 waren ze o.a. te zien op Pinkpop, Rock Werchter en in de Heineken Music Hall.

Morgenavond primeur van de single (dit nummer) op BBC Radio 1. Ik ben benieuwd. Ik vind heus niet alles van Alex bij voorbaat goed, maar vind deze akoestische versie al erg fijn om te horen. Ik hou wel van deze stijl. Dat belooft wat!

Dit nummer klinkt als het nummer wat te horen is onder het tweede promo-filmpje op de Age Of The Understatement-site. Toch?

Alex Turner and Miles Kane play first ever show

The Last Shadow Puppets made their live debut tonight (March 5), playing an eight-song acoustic set in a Brooklyn record store.

A line snaked around the block for the show, which saw the pair preview material from their forthcoming LP ‘The Age Of The Understatement’.

Ezra Koenig and Rostam Batmanglij from Vampire Weekend were among the intimate crowd at the gig, which kicked off around 10.30pm (EST) in the back room of Williamsburg record store Soundfix.

The show was a last-minute booking for Turner and Kane, who are spending a few days in New York to promote their album, scheduled to be released on April 21.

“We’re here to promote our forthcoming extravaganza and we thought it would be nice to play for you folks, so thanks for coming down,” Turner told the audience.

The pair appeared to enjoy the set, pleasantly bantering with the crowd and each other throughout, occasionally commenting on the incessant camera flashing from the audience.

After a rendition of 'Calm Like You' Turner explained: "We’re fast running out here Miles, I’m worried it’ll be over too soon."

However the pair still had three more songs left, wrapping up the acoustic set with ‘My Mistakes’, forthcoming single ‘The Age Of The Understatement’ and ‘Meeting Place’.
