Al die aandacht voor één meisje is idd overdreven, hoe verschrikkelijk deze hele toestand ook voor de ouders is. In GB is het helemaal een hype.
Ondertussen zijn óók 650.000 kinderen aan malaria, typhus en andere ziekten ten onder gegaan. Maar die zijn natuurlijk wat minder media-geniek. Begrijpelijk allemaal.

Ik sluit die Murat zeker nog niet helemaal uit ondanks dat er mogelijk door sommige 'getuigen' David Payne voor Murat kan worden aangezien. Bovendien zou het kunnen dat Gerry McCann Murat voor Praia du Luz al kende, Gerry (op 22 mei) wilde daar geen antwoord op geven of dat het geval was. Ook het feit dat sommige Tapas-vrienden in Exeter wonen of woonden, vlakbij de de zus van Murat, vind ik heel toevallig. Die Eexeter-connection hou ik in het achterhoofd, alhoewel ik Murat eerder in een voetveeg-rol zie, een handige hulp voor de McCanns, die hem nu zwaar opbreekt. Iemand beweerd zelfs: "Also i'm forgetting...the source has also said Murat did know them as he had dined with them at Chaplins restaurant days previous and Kate had been with him at his house when she and Gerry fell out....big argument and she left and went to Murats. This info is all circulating at the moment, can't confirm if it's true or not but it's certainly something to chew over.." Bron Maar dat is natuurlijk pure speculation of course. Nog meer speculaties, ter lering en mogelijk vermaak met een vleug eventuele feitjes.

Maar als er echt geen nieuw na te trekken belastend bewijs is zullen ze hem toch moeten 'Clearen.' Ik las trouwens op een ander forum dat het zou kunnen dat Murat toch langer Arguido blijft, om te voorkomen dat hij uit de school kan/gaat klappen..als vertaler weet hij tenslotte veel, heel veel. Hij kan wel een centje gebruiken, zijn inkomsten zijn praktisch opgedroogd.

En verder vind ik die ene zus Annie Wiltshire als getuige wel erg veel lijken op de moeder van Kate, Susan Healy. Veel families hebben trekjes waaraan je kan zien dat ze zussen/broers/neven/nichten etc zijn. Toen ik die foto zag van die twee zussen moest ik dus direct aan Kate's mum denken. Heb ze even bij elkaar gestichted:



Links Annie Wiltshire en rechts 3x Susan Healy ter vergelijking. Kate McCann komt oorspronkelijk uit Liverpool, ook deze zussen, toevallig allemaal weer. Ze zeggen Kate niet te kennen en Gerry alleen van die tennislessen.

They described a barefoot child and a man wearing beige trousers walking towards the beach in Praia da Luz, about 400yards from the McCanns' holiday apartment. Ook in datzelfde artikel: Kate and Gerry McCann have hired a former Met Police officer to carry out a "cold case" review into Madeleine's disappearance. Noel Hogan, a former CID detective, has spent hundreds of hours interviewing British witnesses in the case.

Het is helemaal niet zeker/duidelijk of iemand Madeleine op 3 mei heeft gezien. Statements van een nanny zeggen natuurlijk niks, bovendien waren er veel blonde kinderen aanwezig en niet altijd wordt de presentielijst ingevuld, en indien wel, is het dat ook het juiste kind achter de opgeschreven naam? Er zijn artikelen dat de McCanns die dag aan het picnicken op het strand zijn geweest. Zie o.a. de Daily Mail Madeleine: Now the Portuguese police focus on the missing six hours En dat er CCTV-materiaal is geweest van een dansende Madeleine met paps levert geen duidelijke beelden op en de eigenaar van dat strandrestaurant weet het eigenlijk ook niet zeker of ze er die dag wel waren wat hij eerder wel beweerde. En wat lees-doe-info wat betreft de laatste foto van Madeleine, als men er zin in heeft...ik niet in ieder geval maar heb bewondering voor degene die dit heeft uitgeplozen met verwijzingen naar deze thread < Met een suggestie dat niet alleen de foto (vrijgegeven op 23 mei) niet van 3 mei is (zo mooi weer was het niet, koud zelfs) maar dat Gerry er in is gefotosoept, als bewijs dat hij daar aanwezig was.

En dat dat tennispartijtje op 3 mei, wat zegt de (geautoriseerd) Panorama-docu: "At 6 Gerry McCann has his third tennis lesson of the day so he leaves the flat. He says as a family they talked about bringing the children back out to play in the area by the courts. At 6.30 Gerry McCann asks a friend, David Payne, to pop in on Kate to see if the children are coming down. Dat betekent dat Payne de kinderen niet echt heeft gezien? En ging Gerry wel naar die 3e tennisles? Volgens The Times niet: "Gerry had knocked up at the start of the 4.30pm tennis-drills session, but had decided not to exacerbate an injury to his Achilles tendon, so had dropped out and waited around by the courts until the children came back from the kids’ clubs at 5pm for tea. That had been one of the most enjoyable times of the holiday, all the children together for tea, then the adults playing with them afterwards." Meer over de Paynes hier. En Matthew Oldfield heeft zelf al gezegd dat alles rustig was bij de check maar fysiek niet echt had gekeken. En dat verhaal van een Miror-poster wat betreft de datum 2 mei qua 'ontvoering' blijft interessant, die theorie is redelijk snel verwijderd van dat forum, curieus. Sommige van zijn uitspraken zijn naderhand bevestigd, zoals dat de McCanns niet fysiek zelf hebben gezocht zoals bleek in een interview met BBC-verslaggever Jane Hill (eerder gepost) met hen. Al met al blijft het belangrijk, wie heeft daadwerkelijk Madeleine op 3 mei gezien? Zijn daar CCTV-beelden van? Ook van de checks? Ook van 2 mei en eerder? De PJ weet hier natuurlijk meer over en wil daar die vrienden en de McCanns over horen, ter vergelijking met eerdere statements.

He told us they were leaving theirs sleeping in the apartments. While they chatted on, I ruminated on the pros and cons of this. I admired them, in a way, for not being paranoid parents, but I decided that our apartment was too far off even to contemplate it. Our baby was too young and I would worry about them waking up." En deze: "Then Gerry stood up and began showing Kate his new tennis stroke. She looked at him and smiled. "You wouldn't be interested if I talked about my tennis like that," Jes said to me. We watched them some more. Kate was calm, still, quietly beautiful; Gerry was confident, proud, silly, strong. She watched his boyish demonstration with great seriousness and patience. En dat mensen rond de McCanns bekend zijn met fotosoep bewijst deze foto en deze, oeps en weg elleboog. Die vriend en peetoom van de twins John Corner, o.a. tv-producer, zou dat goed kunnen. Besides, die villa waar de McCanns naderhand verbleven in Praia da Luz was van hem. Een nieuwe thread rondom deze bewerkte foto. En verder is het natuurlijk vreemd dat er niet meer vakantiekiekjes zijn met een recente Madeleine, maar ja, die zijn er kennelijk niet...

nou, ik herinner me dat er toen iets met de tijd van de foto was, er werd op de website gemeld dat de foto om bv 1300 uur genomen was maar dat de camera niet bijgesteld was en dus nog op engelse tijd stond... toen merkte iemand hier in deze topicreeks op dat Portugal en de UK in dezelfde tijdzone zitten, dus dat die opmerking geheel overbodig was...

je zou toch denken dat je dat als ouders of Team McCann wel zou weten, het is namelijk ultiem belangrijk hoe laat je kind voor het laatst gezien is... daarom is het ook an sich niet vreemd dat ze zo het tijdstip hamerden, integendeel uiteraard, maar wat wel raar is dat ze niet op de hoogte waren van de tijdzone waarin Portugal zich bevindt .
een uur verschil kan bij een vermist kind alle verschil maken.
en die opmerking bij die foto heeft er een hele poos gestaan, ms zelfs nu nog (site is down) dus de onderzoekers hadden dat een tijd lang ook niet opgemerkt ws dan.

en nu is het ws dus niet eens zeker dat die foto van de 3 mei is, dat is dan geen uur extra, maar 25 uur extra. als we even aannemen dat die foto idd gemaakt is op dat tijdstip, enkel een dag eerder.

wat betreft de hoeveelheid vakantiekiekjes, ik weet van mezelf dat ik de eerste dagen ook niet meteen tig foto's maak , meestal deden we dat in week 2 pas, dus dat vind ik niet zo vreemd, dat er maar weinig pics waren..... tenzij er wel zat gemaakt zijn van de tweeling die eerste dagen.

I think it is time that the British people showed yet more solidarity with Gerry and Kate McCann, who have been named by the Portuguese police as the main suspects in the presumed murder of their daughter. If the McCanns killed Madeleine, then I am Barack Obama.

The utterly useless Portuguese police have nowhere else to go, because their initial bungling of the investigation has robbed them of vital clues. It is deeply unpleasant of them to try to scapegoat the child's grieving parents to try to concoct for themselves an impression of competence.

They also included the list of items they would like seized. Leaks have previously suggested these would include the diary kept by Mrs McCann, 39. She was advised by a trauma counsellor to keep a journal and to include the days before Madeleine vanished from a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz on May 3.

Detectives took the diary and photocopied it, then leaked sections to the Portuguese media in which Mrs McCann allegedly wrote that her eldest daughter was hyperactive and said she could not cope.

Officers used the excerpts to suggest the GP could have been sedating her children. Mrs McCann has always denied the claims. Police were also said to want to seize clothes and other items - including the pink soft toy Cuddle Cat - on which trained sniffer dogs allegedly picked up the "scent of death".

Detectives have long questioned why Mrs McCann was so attached to Cuddle Cat and why, if it was her last link with Madeleine, she allowed it to be washed. They have suggested the toy was cleaned to destroy any potential DNA evidence, such as blood. Mrs McCann said it had simply become too grubby.

Other items sought by police are thought to include the couple's laptops and private correspondence, Mrs McCann's Bible, in which a passage related to the death of a child was marked, and their phone records. The formal "letters of appeal" will now be sent from the court in Portimao to the Portuguese justice minister and then on to Home Secretary Jacqui Smith for her approval.

Once granted police will contact the group to arrange interviews. Detectives in Portugal will then consider whether they need to reinterview the McCanns, of Rothley, Leicestershire, and whether they should be charged.

The spokesman for the McCanns, Clarence Mitchell, said: "Kate and Gerry, and their friends particularly, are very keen to talk to the Portuguese police again because they want to be able to clarify any inconsistencies to do with the timeline of events on May 3, or whenever the police put forward." De foto's van de playground in de Ocean Club, even bij elkaar gezet, ook op 28 april gezien de kleding van Madeleine en Sean, daaronder de bewuste laatste foto, genomen op 3 mei, volgens de McCanns. Tussen die data geen foto's kunnen vinden van Madeleine. Je zou denken dat tussen die vrienden toch ook wat foto's/filmpjes gemaakt zijn van hun kinderen.

Dat zijn wel interessante stukken, die je quote over de bewerkte 'Laatste Foto'. Als ik het goed begrijp (heb niet heel nauwkeurig gelezen) zouden de McCanns de foto zowel vóór de verdwijning hebben kunnen maken (2 mei) als erná (voor 24 mei, de dag waarop deze foto voor het eerst door de McCanns werd getoond). Dat de foto op 3 mei zou zijn genomen, wordt min of meer uitgesloten op basis van de theorie dat eigenlijk niemand Maddie op die bewuste dag heeft gesignaleerd, afgezien van een paar onbetrouwbare getuigen.

In het geval dat de foto ná de verdwijning is genomen - de spannendste theorie - zouden Gerry en Amelie somber kijken omdat Maddie op dat moment al was verdwenen, en haar aanwezigheid op de foto zou er dus later in zijn gesoept. De noodzaak van de foto zou in dat geval vooral schuilen in de aanwezigheid van Maddie, uiteraard, maar ook in die van Gerry, aangezien hij zichzelf daarmee een alibi verschaft: hij was op 3 mei op dat tijdstip aanwezig in de Club! Het gesjoemel met de cameratijd wordt op het Engelse forum afgedaan als 'onzinnig', omdat je de tijd op een digitale camera altijd kunt veranderen, dus waarom dan naderhand - zoals K & G hebben gedaan - zo'n punt maken van dat ene uur tijdsverschil? (Ook de verwisselde laptop wordt erbij gesleept: ah kijk, dus dáárom wilde Gerry van zijn oude laptop af.)
Ook is er veel discussie over de stenen muur op de achtergrond, die op de 'bewerkte' foto nogal wat oneffenheden zou bevatten.

Het grappige van dit soort verwoede speculaties is dat je inderdaad - ik, tenminste - met heel andere ogen naar die foto gaat kijken.

Verdomd, Maddie is inderdaad fletser van kleur dan haar vader & zusje.
Ook de schaduwen lijken wat afwijkend.
Om over de (ontbrekende) schaduwen bij Gerry maar niet te spreken (Onder zijn dij/knieholte; nu lijkt het inderdaad alsof hij zweeft).
Ook ben ik wel gevoelig voor de opmerking dat je wel héél slecht moet fotograferen om met zo'n gedrocht van een compositie thuis te komen: het drietal is totaal niet gecentreerd, terwijl dat met een digitale camera een fluitje van een cent is. Op de foto waarbij Maddie is verdwijderd, zitten Gerry & Amelie opeens keurig in het midden.
En waarom is Maddie de enige die wegkijkt van de camera en lacht? En waarom reageren Gerry & Amelie überhaupt niet op haar schaterlach? Ze staren somber voor zich uit.
Ook kun je inderdaad, zoals velen opmerken, je vraagtekens zetten bij de totale afwezigheid van bijpersonages/achtergrondfiguren op de foto - lees: getuigen. Los daarvan, aan de stand van de zon te zien was het midden op de dag - echt een goede sfeer hing er blijkbaar niet in de Ocean Club: het was er uitgestorven.
Plus dat het op 3 mei kennelijk niet zulk schitterend weer was.
En dan dat elastiekje in het haar van Maddie - is het niet uiterst vreemd dat Kate naderhand in een interview uit eigen beweging heeft verklaard hoe zij Maddie diezelfde avond (van 3 mei) voor het slapen in bad heeft gedaan, en hoe zijn toen het elastiekje uit heur haar heeft verdwijderd? Is dat interessante informatie? Ja, wél als die foto naderhand met de computer is gefixt. Want dan is dat elastiekje opeens 'bewijs' - bewijs voor 3 mei, en dus voor de authenticiteit van de foto. Maar verder? Verder lijkt dat gebabbel over elastiekjes me erg vreemd.

Ik kan me wel vinden in de opmerking van een van de Engelse posters dat de McCanns deze getruukte foto aanvankelijk schaamteloos hebben gepresenteerd als authentiek omdat niemand ze verdacht. In die prille begintijd kwamen ze nog overal mee weg. Maar dan nóg, als ze al zo uitgekookt zijn geweest om met fotomateriaal te gaan sjoemelen, dan hebben ze zich vast wel gerealiseerd dat ze daar niet mee te koop moesten lopen.

Ja Nadine, je vat het mooi samen, maar Suko heeft me zo gek gekregen het Mirror.co.uk forum te gaan lezen en mijn god wat kost dat een hoop tijd. Iedere amateur detective schijnt daar actief te zijn. Mijn leven was beter toen Suko het nog gewoon samenvatte....

Anyway, ik heb een achtergrond in beeldbewerking en geheel los van alle complot theorieen is het zeker dat minimaal een van de twee foto's digitaal bewerkt is. Dat an sich is al zeer opmerkelijk. De 'Last Photo' manipuleren is net zo iets als 'Cuddly Cat' steeds wassen als beide zulke mooie laatste herinneringen waren.

Het is eigenlijk misschien nog vreemder, iets wat ik ook wel eens bedenk en anderen hebben gepost. Deze Blogger, Charlotte, zet de beelden eens op rij en dan zie je inderdaad verschillende Madeleine's in één tijdsframe, in (of vlak voor, vliegveld) Praia da Luz. @ Nadine26, dat verhaal met het elastiekje lijkt inderdaad een stomme fout. In de Daily Mail van 25 mei wordt van een hair bead, soort kraaltje, gesproken, maar het is toch echt een elastiekje, toch iets anders lijkt me zo. 'Toevalligerwijs' werd deze 'laatste foto' van Madeleine bij het zwembad vlak ervoor, 23 mei, vrijgegeven. En verder is het natuurlijk zo dat ik de publiciteitsfoto's van Madeleine haar nooit zou hebben herkend, zoveel verschillende afbeeldingen van haar naderhand, je zou elk kind in de nek moeten grijpen om het in de ogen te kunnen kijken want voor de rest is ze niet als zodanig herkenbaar. En het zou goed kunnen dat de beelden van een jaar eerder zijn, ze kwamen jaarlijks in de Algarve zoals onlangs in een terugblik op de BBC gemeld is. Maar wat met die gevonden sporen, qua bloed en bodyfluids... zou zomaar kunnen dat ze een hele kleine hoeveelheid zelf hebben aangebracht (expertise genoeg als dokters zijnde) maar dan zo dat het net niet genoeg is daarmee iets te bewijzen maar wél net genoeg om de aanwezigheid van Madeleine te verklaren. Zelf zeggen ze 'heel aannemelijk' dat een mogelijke bloedneus of wondje de oorzaak was en bodyfluids van luiers e.d.

Was Madeleine ever in Praia da Luz?

Madeleine in the bus shuttle video to the aeroplane is wearing pink top and trousers but she appears too young for it to be 2007 in comparison to the football shirt and the photo where she is holding the tennis balls. IMHO those photos of Madeleine (football shirt and tennis balls) are the latest ones of her. The photos of Madeleine in Praia da Luz are from an earlier age. Allow me to explain….

There are several photos of Madeleine in her pink top and trousers that are said to be from PDL … we can establish that this one in the pink top and trousers were taken in Praia da Luz because there is the white wall behind her, the tree, the grass and the tiny wall. Because Madeleine is wearing the same clothes in the photos where she is bending over (with Sean, a dark haired girl and Gerry McCann) as she was on the shuttle bus we can establish that is the same day they arrived in PDL… but in my opinion that was on a previous year to PDL rather than 2007. Why? Because…

… The apparent last photo of Madeleine (by the pool with Gerry and her sister) shows her being too young in comparison to the football shirt and tennis ball photo. Yet the poolside photo shows Amelie as being the correct age for May 2007. This say’s that for some reason a younger Madeleine was added to a photo of Amelie at her current age.

Kate McCann apparently said in her diary that she carefully removed a bead from Madeleine’s hair when she bathed her on the evening of May 3rd, yet the blow up photo of Madeleine by the poolside shows quite plainly that it is not a bead in her hair but an elastic band wound round her hair several times. This say’s that Kate McCann couldn’t remember what was in Madeleine’s hair. Therefore, the photo of Madeleine by the poolside was not taken on the 3rd of May 2007 and Kate was running her ‘remove bead’ from what she saw in the apparent last photo she and Gerry offered to the press. At a distance or first glance it does appear like a bead.

Following me so far?...

…I conclude that the photos of Madeleine in her pink top and trousers were on a trip to PDL but not in the year 2007, they’re possibly from the year before.

Now run through the photographs and if you come to the same conclusion, then ask yourselves why the McCanns were so insistent that:

1. The poolside photo was the last one taken on 3rd May 2007
2. Why Kate McCann made such a fuss in her diary about removing a bead (when in fact it was an elastic band)
3. Why they have consistently given younger photos of Madeleine to the press

This is quite remarkable and shocking, they are not interested in whether people have investigative skills eg retired police officers, or in people who have experience of tracking down missing people, they are not interested in volunteers with experience and skills in the field of child sexual abuse or those who have worked with offenders, despite the fact they insist Madeleine was kidnapped by a paedophile, they have no interest in whether the person has experience in working on children's issues in the public or voluntary sector ALL THEY WANT are gullible people who they can exploit to further their propoganda campaign or do the boring administrative tasks for free. Indeed Milagro, niet voor niets zeggen ouwe rotten op o.a. het Mirror-forum tegen nieuwkomers, 'welcome to the madhouse' of welcome to the house of complete nutters.' Maar ik kan er afstand van nemen hoor, Madeleine heeft voorgoed een rustig plekje bij me gekregen, maar over die McCanns en die zooi daarom heen kan ik mij nog wel eens enigszins opwinden, maar met mate, het zijn tenslotte vreemden voor mij en de meeste die er zich mee bezighouden. Heeft meer te maken met een gevoel van onrecht, ze zullen er toch potdomme niet mee wegkomen! De vergelijking van leeftijd zie ik meer in deze foto's, die met dat footballshirt aan is toch volgens mij echt recent, maar die bij het zwembad is een veel jongere Madeleine lijkt mij. Ik ben wat dat betreft al helemaal heel slecht in het meedenken met logische technieken als je het hebt over een fotoanalyse, schaduwen en hoe dat in verhouding te zien met de zon. Op deze pagina nog een aantal interessante besprekingen. Zo ook dat vreemde zwart met wit stukje tussen Amelie's arm en lijfje, hier goed te zien. Op het Mirrior-forum wat reacties met een uitvergroting van dat bewuste stuke bij Amelie, 1e post, 2e link.

En verder moeten er meer foto's zijn, zo hebben sources close to gemeld: "During the day of her disappearance they had all gone for a walk, played tennis, and taken some more snapshots for the family album before relaxing by the pool." Daily Mail Waarom dit zo specifiek erbij wordt gemeld qua snapshots geeft je te denken in combinatie met het publiceren van die 'laatste' foto in hetzelfde artikel.

Was ik nog vergeten te melden, alle relevante info van posters wordt terstond doorgemaild naar de Portugese autoriteiten, dat vind ik wel een goede zaak.

De kwaliteit van de 'altaar' foto is te slecht om het te beoordelen. Het feit dat iemand de moeite genomen heeft om met Photoshop in de weer te gaan voor een onbenullig bidprentje is op zich al veelzeggend.

nu ja, als er vooral foto's op de eerste dag(en) genomen zijn, om enkele (of 1) daarvan later te gebruiken als "laatste foto" van... ga je bijna weer (nu ja ik dan) denken aan de optie van vooropgezetheid.

dat is natuurlijk omgekeerd 'redeneren' maar als je alles bij elkaar optelt, ja, allemaal AANNAMES, dan is geimproviseerde media machine vanaf day 1, de 3e mei of ms al de 2e mei, best knap.

ik bedoel, kind per ongeluk dood, er moest meteen gehandeld worden, en dan in die zin dat pa en ma buiten schot blijven, en kind dus weg, ontvoerd moest zijn en er meteen Sky News gebeld moest worden alvorens de politie te bellen, zodat mocht de politie aanraden de media er nog even buiten te houden, dat al niet meer kon...
er hebben dan 2 ouders verdomd snel de dingen op een rijtje gekregen, dit dit dit en dit moet er nu gebeuren, snel handelen, vooruitzien, inschatten, adequaat improviseren nav de reacties en daden vd politie, overal een antwoord op hebben, overal aan gedacht hebben (voor de eerste weken dan iig, en dat werden maanden, althans zo leek het, maar ms had de politie ze al vrij snel in de peiling, al dan niet terecht).... geniaal , eng maar wel geniaal, zo 1,2,3 kunnen verhullen na een gebeurtenis die jou ook maar overkomen is, volkomen onverwacht en zo gruwelijk, je eigen kind dood door jouw toedoen.

ja, ik kan me er niets bij voorstellen, dat je als ouder wat betref 1 kind zo koelbloedig zou kunnen zijn en handelen, maar er zijn ziekere dingen gebeurd, door ouders hun kinderen aangedaan.

Dat maakt het ook zo verwarrend, wat ze zelf eerder verklaren, de vrienden en familie op 25th May 2007 en wat het PR-team meent dat er op die dag 'moet' zijn gebeurd. Er nergens een foto te bekennen van dat stranduitstapje, natuurlijk niet, want ze zijn daar dus ook niet geweest. En dan blijft alleen die zwembad-foto over waar ernstig over de originaliteit wordt gediscussieerd, en niet voor niets.

@ Milagro, Ik denk dat dit element, een wel uitgedacht plan, het zo moeilijk maakt er een theorie over te verzinnen over het hoe en waarom want inderdaad, hoe is het mogelijk dat er eigenlijk vanaf dag één er zo'n publiciteitsmachine op gang is gekomen. Dit is waarschijnlijk ook de reden waarom de McCanns niet zelf zijn gaan zoeken, druk druk druk met de 'organisatie' de boel in gang te zetten. In een interview met BBC-verslaggeefster Jane Hill: "I met people who didn't go to work for more than a week because everyday they were down on the beach, searching the streets. Did you, as a mother Kate, just sometimes think 'I've got to go and be out there with them. I want to go and just physically look as well."

Eigenlijk zijn ze zelf nooit fysiek op zoek naar Madeleine geweest. Dat is voor mij mede de reden geweest de ouders te verdenken van al of niet moord maar zeker wel het weten dat Madeleine niet meer leeft, mogelijk een ongeluk door stomme fouten van één van hen, of allebei. Andere gedachtegangen waarvoor Madeliene eventueel (mis)gebruikt (zelfs een theorie over een mislukt experiment) zou zijn is voor mij teveel SF en ook te huiveringwekkend, daar wil ik niet eens aan denken.

En nu er weer een nieuwe sighting is (verhaal komt me zeer bekend voor...), wat ik eerder vandaag heb gepost en nu ook in de Daily Mail zou men eens de vorige eigenaresse Ruth McCann eens kunnen ondervragen, waarom is apartement 5A zo interessant voor allerlei ongure types, heeft zij nooit iets gemerkt? Het was er toch zo stil, een slaapdorp, ook volgens Gerry en tig anderen. En waarom hebben al die lui (getuigen) die vermeende ontvoerder+kind niet gezien maar kennelijk alleen vriendin Jane Tanner...

It is now abundantly clear to us that we should have immediately released a description of the prime suspect, as described in perfect detail, by Jane Tanner, instead of waiting for the Right Honourable Gordon Brown to insist that we do so 3 weeks after the event and after our useless scene of crime officers had dismissed it as being entirely fictitious on the grounds that not only did two other witnesses NOT see the abductor, but they didn’t see Jane Tanner either.

As for those English Cadaver dogs that apparently scented ‘Death’on the garments and accessories of Mrs. McCann, we can only reiterate that it is easy for such matters to become confused during the translation process. We now fully understand that ‘Eau du Corpse’ is, in fact, a latest designer perfume from France, specifically designed for wear by professional women who come into contact with an inordinately high number of cadavers during the course of a typical working week.

And those DNA test results from your Birmingham FSS Forensic services? We now fully accept that although they represent a partial match to Madeleine, stated as 88% from one source, to a 100% ‘non transferable’ match as quoted on SKY, FOX and CBS news, they are equally likely to have been derived from a partially decaying packet of Walls Pork sausages.

As for all those other allegations, ‘leaks’ inaccuracies and ‘unhelpful speculation’ that has appeared in our press since May, apportioning blame on to the McCanns, I can assure you that they have collectively hung their heads in shame and are working tirelessly to match those standards set by those Holy Grails of informative Press, the ‘SUN’, ‘DAILY MAIL’, ‘DAILY EXPRESS’ and the ‘MIRROR‘.

It remains for me only to say that we will gladly donate the entirety of our pension funds, as issued on our imminent dismissal from the force for our incompetence, to the ‘Madeleine McCann Fund’ so that Mr and Mrs McCann can continue their tireless search for their daughter and for the truth, and to travel in order to bring compassion, understanding and education about the dangers of evil Predators to the world.

Either that or to pay for their Mortgage and future Holidays for the next12 years.

We shall also insist on a Nationwide collection towards the fund from the citizens of Portugal. Including those who took a week off work to scurry around on their hands on knees to search through the dirt with their bare hands for clues. These ‘Bumpkins’ must also suffer the consequences of their countries failings.

We can only hope that our replacements will take up the gauntlet of Justice and pursue this case, sifting through the miriad of Sex offenders that dwell on every street corner and home in Portuga in order to establish the real culprit and ensure that he faces Justice. Either that or enlist him into the PJ alongside all the other paedophiles and woman beaters.

I, myself, am now off to apply to join Metodo 3, where their respective efforts have done more to unearth the real truth of this mystery than any other efforts here in Portugal.

Overigens is de opvatting sterk dat de berechting niet in Portugal zal zijn omdat men daar de zaak wil laten vallen. Ze hebben geen zin in een langdradig proces dat nog veel meer slechte publiciteit genereert voor het land en vooral de tourisme industrie. Dat zou de opmerking in de Portuges krant verklaren dat als er al een zaak komt deze in de UK zal zijn.

Pippa Daley-Knightley, another columnist, defends the action of the McCanns: "What's happened to good old common sense. Can't people drive around with blood in the boot? I remember once I inadvertently left my child in the car during high summer when I took the dog for a walk. Owing to the soaring temperature she was clawing at the catch on the boot in a desperate attempt to get out and the top of her finger was sliced off. There was blood everywhere - but hey, wake up and smell the coffee, that's reality for you. There is nothing untoward in the actions of the McCanns."

@ Kahaarin, natuurlijk zijn er fouten gemaakt alhoewel de Britse politie nooit klachten heeft geuit, waarbij gezegd moet worden dat ook in Engeland de justitie mega-blunders heeft begaan in vele vele onderzoeken/rechtszaken. Maar Spudgun heeft het met name over de Britse pers, ook The Guardian/Independent IMO, die hebben het ernstig laten afweten. Onderzoeksjournalistiek werd/wordt even niet bedreven...hoe zal dat straks gaan???

@ Voyeur, wat slim dan eigelijk van die sardinevreters (in je voorgaande post wat betreft het zich voordoen als toeristen e.d.) zoals een aantal Britse journo's Portugesen wensen te betitelen. En misschien is het wel goed om de McCanns in de UK voor het gerecht te slepen, DNA (met name Low copy number DNA) mag dan wel ter disussie staan maar daders en getuigen zijn in eigen land makkelijker benaderbaar en dat is tijdwinst. In Portugal zijn ze terecht de hele kwestie goed beu, opzouten zullen ze denken, gelijk hebben ze.

En kijk kijk, nu komt de Daily Mail met het verhaal maar dan wel ergens in het midden:

They have denied any suggestion they want to alter their accounts of the night of May 3."

Gordon Brown has recruited a leading financial spin doctor to become his new "principal” adviser, the latest high profile advancement of a PR expert into the public sphere.

Stephen Carter, chief executive of the Brunswick public relations firm, will attend Cabinet meetings and attempt to steer Mr Brown away from the sort of scandals which dogged him in 2007.

Last year, the Conservative Party appointed Andy Coulson, not a spin doctor but, as a former editor of the News of the World, wise to the ways of PR, as director of communications.

The rise and rise of the profession is not confined to politics: even the McCann family, campaigning to find their daughter Madeleine, sought the help of a former BBC journalist, Clarence Mitchell, to manage their publicity.

When did PR become so important? Are spin doctors taking over the world? If so, does it matter?

Is there any hope of curtailing the influence of spin in today’s media-savvy society?

I still fear that a Trial will not occur......

Those that have tolerated my witterings on here over the Months will probably recal that I have opined this previously. I still fear that Kate and Gerry McCann will avoid both a Trial and, indeed, any charges of any kind.

Now before you start thinking that I've taking to emulating our resident exacerbater- at- large, Tiberius 7, hear me out.

The true secret of disinformation is to both vary its tune and its frequency. Which is why, for periods of time, the Press will publish on a daily basis, the unequivocal rubbish as produced by those intrepid heroes, Metodo 3. Before you can manage to get your head around yet another sighting in Morocco, you get hit with a new witness from Portugal. Half way through digesting that, you learn that Maddie is alive and well and on the verge of rescue, except that she is now in Saudi Arabia. Or wherever it was that another witness saw her with Murats girlfriend. Or wife. Or Mother. Or perhaps she's not all that safe and well at all, given that she was stolen to order by a North African paedophile ring.

You see? Before you can assess and determine a lie, you get hit with another. And another.

Irrespecive of what truly happened on, or around the 3rd May, there have been some reported constants. Some notions that have remained unchanged.Namely, that the Portuguese suspect the McCanns of being complicit in the disappearance of their daughter, that there does appear to be some DNA evidence and that there are irregular and contravening statements that possibly implicate the McCanns. Oh, and the McCanns are still arguidos.

There is no question in my mind that, were the McCanns to return tomorrow of their own volition, to Portugal, they would be arrested and the so called 'unanswered questions' put to them. Which means that, by remaining in the UK, they are being offered a modicum of protection.

We have been awaiting the so called 'regoratory letters' for some time now. To be specific, since late September. Around FIFTEEN WEEKS!!!

More to the point, in Mid October, Paulo Rebelo, after taking over the helm in his new position within the PJ, spoke on Portuguese Television. He said then that, like we have heard today, he had been assured by FSS that the samples DID match Madeleine McCanns, and that members of his team were preparing to fly out to re-interrogate the Tapas 7, the regoratory letters having been prepared.

Alas, on the 18th October, Gordon Brown had a 'private meeting' with Jose Socrates about the Madeleine case. Press reports and TV reports at the time state that this meeting was to ensure

"that the police authorities are taking the actions that are necessary and there's proper cooperation between the British and Portuguese police".

That "co-operation" has so far resulted in that plane load of investigating PJ detectives going missing, (presumably on route to the UK via the Bermuda Triangle), and almost daily newspaper reports suggesting that the regoratory letters really are almost ready. Throughout November. And December. Except the Home Office here apparently decided to let the McCanns enjoy Christmas before facing any questions. Although which Christmas and how many of them they failed to elaborate on.

Because here we are, at the end of the first week of the New Year. The papers are still assuring us that 'next week' the PJ are coming knocking. Except theyv'e been saying that for weeks.

Perhaps, when Gordon Brown was alleged to have said he was "preparing the public" for the developments in this case, maybe he was referring to something else. Maybe he was wanting to get the Lisbon Treaty out of the way, maybe he was awaiting the results of another court case, the findings of which he already knew about, the Omagh Case. How on earth could anyone allow those poor McCanns to face a trial built predominantly on DNA evidence already rubbished here in the UK? Not just casting doubts on the validity of but seriously RUBBISHED.
Immediately after the McCanns were made arguidos, the Press here toyed with the idea of the McCanns guilt. Or at least they gave consideration to the possibility that the PJ actually might have had some evidence. The result? The Home Secretary, Jacqui Smith, (no less), appeared on TV to tell the Media to "stop speculating and allow us all to return to finding Madeleine" Presumably, Ms.Smith doesn't consider the daily asanine drivel, purportedly coming from Metodo3, to be speculative or restrictive in the search for Madeleine.

Perhaps, like Clarence and Metodo 3, Mr. Brown feels that the continued daily onslaught of lies and garbage will disorientate the populace to such a degree that we will utterly refuse to believe a further, single word on the matter. Mirror-forum

Ik zelf heb nog een mogelijk aanwijzing qua 'bescherming' van Gerry McCann door Gordon Brown ivm, een mega-operatie (vandaag gelanceerd) wat het volgende betreft: Health screening plans unveiled "Patients in England will be offered screening for early signs of heart disease, stroke and kidney disease, Prime Minister Gordon Brown has said." Men kan er van uitgaan dat ook de British Heart Foundation hier mee te maken heeft en dan kom men vanzelf dit feitje tegen: "Gerry has gone back to work half-days, and has finally told the British Heart Foundation he plans to go ahead with the research fellowship they awarded him, a week before he was accused of being involved in his daughter’s death. He had told me, weeks ago, about the six-figure grant and how it meant almost nothing in terms of professional advancement, but might one day help in the prevention and treatment of heart disease." Beschadigd

Eerder DNA-onderzoek kon niet bevestigen dat het bloed in zowel de auto als de flat van Madeleine afkomstig is doordat het genetisch materiaal was beschadigd. Met een nieuwe techniek kon het beschadigde DNA wel goed worden onderzocht.

Zelfs kleine, beschadigde monsters kunnen met de zogenaamde 'low copy number analysis' onderzocht worden. De uitslag van de test spreekt in het voordeel van politie en justitie.

Verklaringen

De ouders hebben altijd volgehouden dat er onschuldige verklaringen zijn voor de bloedsporen. Het bloed zou afkomstig zijn van hun twee jaar oude tweeling.

De Britse krant meldt ook dat er binnenkort Portugese inspecteurs richting Engeland vertrekken om het echtpaar opnieuw te verhoren.

Mocht dit zo zijn is het toch voldoende bewijs de ouders te arresteren?

Eindelijk iets tastbaars in deze langlopende zaak.. 'hard' forensisch bewijs..

Goedemorgen Kahaarin. Je moet er toch niet aan denken dat Gordon Brown het allemaal al wist wat betreft die Omaghzaak (precedent voor andere zaken) , en dat het daarom misschien zou kunnen dat de gevonden DNA-sporen middels Low copy number DNA 'toevallig' worden benoemd en wss door de Britse rechtbank niet ontvankelijk wordt verklaard.

Madeleine the movie: McCanns in talks over missing daughter's story

The Madeleine Fund is committed to spending £50,000 a month on a Spanish private detective agency. It is also paying for a poster and television advertising campaign in Spain, Portugal and Morocco, where there have been several alleged sightings. Estimates suggest at least £500,000 has already been spent.

A source close to the McCann family said: "Donations from the public are still coming in but to sustain the fund properly, we will need larger amounts. "If the media are prepared to make donations, we will take the money. There are a few propositions out there.

"We have had a couple of large companies involved in the film industry approach us about a long-term deal. IMG and the production company behind Touching The Void have approached Kate and Gerry. They have sent them a tape to watch to see the sort of film they make. We have only had a preliminary discussion."

Touching The Void, which earned £7 million at the box office, is the most successful British-made documentary, winning best British film at the 2004 Baftas and an Evening Standard best film.

Directed by Oscar-winner Kevin Macdonald and made by the London-based production company Darlow Smithson, it tells the story of Joe Simpson and Simon Yates and their near-fatal attempt to climb a mountain in the Peruvian Andes through a mixture of interviews with them and dramatic reconstructions. A movie of the McCanns' torment in the Algarve, if made by the Touching The Void team, could follow a similar method.

The source close to the McCanns warned that the couple will only be able to begin negotiations in earnest provided their status as official suspects - or arguidos - is lifted by Portuguese police. The couple's lawyers will apply for it to be removed in the coming months, once the doctors, both aged 39, have been re-interviewed by police amid reports that forensic evidence against them is at best "indicative" of their involvement in Madeleine's disappearance.

They insist the girl was abducted from their holiday apartment eight months ago as they ate at a nearby tapas restaurant and that she could still be alive. The source added: "The million-pound film deal is possible. It is the sort of thing we would look at seriously because in one fell swoop we could resolve the funding of the search overnight.

"What would really help is for the arguido status to be lifted and then a wave of sympathy would lead to more money coming in." The meeting tomorrow follows the resignation of key board members, including the fund's spokeswoman Esther McVey.

The fund agreed a deal in the autumn to pay the Barcelona-based agency Metodo 3 a retainer of £50,000 a month for six months to find Madeleine. Metodo 3 has come in for criticism over comments made by its boss Francisco Marco, including one that he knew who kidnapped Madeleine and a promise to find her by Christmas.

The fund has also been criticised for paying two months' worth of mortgage payments, amounting to a few thousand pounds, on the McCanns' home while they were in Portugal and unable to work. Ik snap alleen niet:

1. Hoe ze ongemerkt dat lijk kunnen vervoeren met alle pers en politie
2. Een lijk bloedt niet na 25 dagen, dunkt me (en zoiets vervoer je in dekens)

Mag ik er fijntjes aan herinneren dat ik al eens Madeleine the Movie voorgesteld heb voor dit topic. Niets, maar dan ook niets is ze te dol ook al lijkt het of het kaartenhuis in elkaar valt nu kennelijk een aantal mensen niet langer bestuurder van het 'fonds voor de hypotheek en de rent a witness' willen zijn.

Krijg nou wat, The Times: "The spokesman would not speculate on whether Gerry and Kate would play themselves in any movie or whether their roles would be played by celebrity actors. Mr Mitchell said: “While it may be hugely entertaining and a bit of fun to think of cast lists, we are a million miles away from that sort of thing."

Soms moet ik dingen een paar keer lezen voordat ik echt lees én begrijp wát er staat...

Overigens is vorige maand al over deze mogelijke filmdeal (en een boek) gesproken, in december dus, toen de McCanns het extra moelijk hadden, zoals ze ons toen met die berichten bombardeerden en ons verzekerde dat ze er van uitgingen dat Madeleine nog leeft. Dat is dus echt niet zo, nog een fragment: "Mr Mitchell said a film would be considered only if the McCanns believed it would help raise awareness of the case or if it could help fund the search for the missing four-year-old."
