Rachael Oldfield's interview on 04 May 2007

Interview with Rachael Mariamma Jean Mampilly (Oldfield).

On the subject we note that.

Being a British citizen and not understanding the Portuguese language, in spoken or written form, the undersigned was accompanied by a sworn translator: Filipa M.C.S. The interview begins at 19h20 on May 4th 2007.

Since last Saturday, April 28th 2007, she has been on holiday in Portugal at the Ocean Club tourist complex in Praia da Luz, accompanied by her husband Matthew Oldfield. They traveled from London to Faro airport with their daughter Grace, aged 19 months. This trip was organised for a group of nine adults and eight children. Her husband and her daughter are part of the group:

* The couple, Russell O'Brien and Jane Michelle Tanner, with their daughters, Ella aged three and a half and Evie aged 19 months.
* David and Fiona Payne with their daughters Lily aged three years and Scarlett aged 12 months.
* Gerald (Gerry) McCann and Kate MCann with their twins, Sean and Amelie, aged 26 months and Madeleine aged 4 years.

Also in their group is Diane Webster, Fiona Payne's mother.

The holiday was organised because the men in the group are all doctors, apart from Fiona Payne and Kate McCann who worked together for a long time. These shared holidays are usually organised for the whole group, although for the last holiday, last September, Gerry McCann and Kate McCann did not go to Greece with the group.

The interviewee has known the couple, Gerry and Kate, since 2003. Her husband, Matthew, knew them from before. On arrival at the airport, they were transported in a, "Mark Warner," company bus. There were other people on the bus apart from the group. They were put up at the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz.

The couples had their own, individual apartments, at the same complex, with their respective children. Since their arrival until yesterday evening, when Madeleine disappeared, the days have all been the same.

After breakfast, taken between 08h00 and 09h00 in the Millennium restaurant, she takes her daughter to the Kids Club, about 10 minutes walk from the apartment. The other couples do exactly the same thing, with the exception of Gerry and Kate McCann who have breakfast in their apartment. The interviewee's daughter goes to a room at the Kids Club which is close to the, "TAPAS," restaurant. Madeleine goes to another room, situated near the club's reception, because she is older.

After dropping her daughter off, the interviewee had a tennis lesson between 11h00 and 12h00. Then she went back to the Kids Club to pick up her daughter, Grace, for lunch. She made Grace's lunch and then they went to Russell O'Brien or David Payne's apartment, where they all ate together. Only Gerry and Kate McCann had lunch in their apartment with the twins and Madeleine. The interviewee has the impression that the McCann family had one lunch on the beach.

All members of the group did their shopping at the only supermarket near the complex, the "Baptiste."

She never saw any suspicious attention, or ever had suspicions about anybody she came across, either in their independent activities or in the group with their children.

Her relationship with the couple, Gerry and Kate, is one of good friendship and they meet up occasionally at celebrations, weddings and birthdays.

Concerning Madeleine, she is a happy child, good natured and full of energy. She considers it impossible that a stranger could take her without her shouting or crying. She is a smart child who knows right from wrong.

TAPAS

They had the habit of going to eat every evening at the,"TAPAS," restaurant which is about 50 metres from the apartments as the crow flies but 60 or 70 metres round the building to the back entrance.

Yesterday, at around 08h45, like every evening, they joined the rest of the group to eat at the,"tapas," restaurant. Her husband Matthew, went to look for David Payne and Fiona Payne. At around 9pm, the couple arrived two or three minutes after Matthew. He had been to check the children's bedrooms, his own apartment where his daughter was sleeping but also that of the twins and Madeleine. He listened at both closed shutters and didn't hear any noise. He also checked to see if there was any noise in Russell O'Brien and Jane Tanner's apartment. He said that he hadn't heard any noise.

After placing their orders, at around 09h15, Gerry McCann went to check, only his apartment. He was held up for nearly 10 minutes because, he said, he had been chatting with Jes about tennis. Today there was a tournament which they both had to compete in. During Gerry's absence, the waiters started to bring the food. Jane was also absent to check her apartment. Gerry returned shortly after Jane.

Between the starters and the main course, at around 09h30, her husband Matthew Oldfield and Russell O'Brien both went to check on the children. Kate was also planning to go and see the children, but they told her it was no trouble, that they would go and check. Kate, therefore, stayed at the restaurant. Four or five minutes later the interviewee's husband came back after having checked his apartment. He also checked the one where Madeleine was. He went in through the patio door (the couple Gerry and Kate McCann left this door accessible for everyone during dinner) The said patio door gives access to the apartment's lounge where two doors open into the respective bedrooms.

Her husband went into the main room and, "hung about," to listen for any noise from the bedroom where the children were sleeping. He didn't switch any lights on. He could see the twins in their beds. The bedroom door was half-open. It was only later that he realised this was strange. At the time, he gave no importance to the fact. The interviewee's husband came back to the restaurant and said that everything was fine, that he hadn't heard any noise. He also said that Russell O'Brien was staying with his daughter, Evie, who was crying.

They had the main course and Jane went off to replace Russell so that he could come and eat. The interviewee does not know exactly when Russell arrived.

At around 10h00, Kate McCann went on her own to check her children. She came back to the restaurant in tears and told us that Madeleine had disappeared. We all got up then and went with her to see. The surrounding area was combed after having checked that Madeleine was not hiding in the apartment. The twins carried on sleeping. They didn't move.

The interviewee has nothing else to add. After reading with the interpreter, who explains to her, she goes on and signs.

The interviewee remembers that Kate said the window at the front of the apartment was open, the shutters raised. The couple had never opened the shutters during their stay.

He will continue to advise the McCanns, parents of missing child Madeline McCann, on a monthly retainer basis."

He stresses that he will still represent the McCanns, whose daughter went missing almost a year-and-a-half ago, and adds that he will be paid on a retainer basis from the "Find Madeleine" fund. "Kate and Gerry are happy for me to do this, it became clear that I wasn't needed on a full-time basis to work for them anymore so this move makes sense," he says."

quote:
Madeleine McCann: GMTV Tears To Entertain, Jade Goody And Clarence Mitchell PR
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann, Kate McCann and Gerry McCann

DAILY MIRROR: “Real victims who reduced me to tears”

Fiona Philips – ‘the woman with the whitest teeth and yellowest hair in daytime telly’ – “on GMTV heartaches and meltdowns”

Fiona Philips is fighting the tears as Helen Newlove, whose husband Garry has been murdered, is sat on the sofa to tell her story.

Tears are the new laughter.

She has quizzed everyone from Prime Ministers to popstars, but it has been real people like Helen, those who have achieved the extraordinary or faced tragedy and heartache, who have had the biggest impact on her.

Are you crying yet? GMTV – Greally Moving Television.

Kate and Gerry McCann’s visit to publicise the first anniversary of Madeleine’s disappearance. Sara Payne’s tireless campaigning since her daughter Sarah’s murder. And Mark Prince, dad of promising young footballer Kiyan, 15, who was stabbed to death in May 2006.

Cry. Cry. Cry.

“Meeting people like that is very humbling,” she says. “They are what have kept me in the job for so long. Just seeing the McCanns made me feel tearful.”

Where’s there’s tears, there’s brass…

“I went in to see Kate while she was in makeup and I could barely find the words. I just said: ‘I don’t know what to say.’ You can actually see the tragedy in their demeanour. They carry it with them wherever they go. They are parents who are grieving and Kate is remarkable. I have no idea how she’s managed to cope.”

Cry. Like Heather Mills…

“We sat down in the dressing room and she poured her heart out about everything. The vilification of her and all the frustrations of her relationship with Sir Paul. “Heather had been pushed to the edge. It was shocking, awful to see someone break down like that. She was talking and talking and I had to get back to the sofa and get on with my job. In the end I said: ‘Heather, I’ve really got to go.’ And she left.

Crying…

Although horrified by Jade Goody’s behaviour on Celebrity Big Brother last year, Fiona has been moved by news that the reality star is battling cervical cancer.

Next on GMTV, we have Jeremiah… Where’s it hurt, Jerry..?

DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Madeleine McCanns’ man now speaks for Freud. Kate and Gerry McCann’s once ubiquitous spokesman - has accepted a job with a PR company”

Clarence Mitchell gets work. It’s all PR, you know…

“I’m going to specialise in crisis management for a range of clients which might include businesses, football clubs or even showbiz personalities,” says the former BBC reporter. “I want to broaden out my portfolio of interests.”

Do you have a problem? Are you in crisis? Call Clarence and he’ll do the PR (POA)…

“Kate and Gerry are happy for me to do this, it became clear that I wasn’t needed on a full-time basis to work for them anymore so this move makes sense,” he says.

NEW SCIENTIST: “Genetic data withdrawn amid privacy concerns”

A new method of forensic DNA analysis has created an unexpected headache for scientists investigating the genetic roots of common diseases.

David Craig of the Translational Genomics Research Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, has designed a statistical method that allows the identification of individual DNA profiles from a mixture of DNA of more than 1000 people.

The danger is that the method allows possible violations of the privacy of volunteers in genetic studies. To avoid this, research organisations led by the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) have abruptly pulled genome data from off the web.

Craig’s method uses sophisticated algorithms to analyse between 10,000 and 50,000 genetic variants called single-nucleotide polymorphisms, or SNPs. These can be detected using standard DNA microarray “chips”

And…

Craig suggests that the technique might find use in high-profile missing-persons cases – such as the 2007 disappearance in Portugal of the British girl Madeleine McCann. In such investigations, he says, it might reveal whether the person had been present in a particular location, from DNA left behind on surfaces they touched.

Madeleine McCann: On it goes…

Maar dat laatste uit jouw artikel is ook interessant: "Craig suggests that the technique might find use in high-profile missing-persons cases – such as the 2007 disappearance in Portugal of the British girl Madeleine McCann. In such investigations, he says, it might reveal whether the person had been present in a particular location, from DNA left behind on surfaces they touched."

quote:
Statement from Catriona Baker

By Paulo Reis, Gazeta Digital

At Leicestershire Police, April 14, 2008 (resume):

Went to Portugal in March 2006 and worked at Ocean Club Village, than changed to Mark Warner's Ocean Club, in June 2006. There are seven "Kids Clubs", at Ocean Club, according to the children's ages, and about 16 nannies. She was living at a home within a 10 minute walk from the Ocean Club. Met Gerry and Kate in the morning of April 29, 2007, first time they took the children to the crèches Madeleine McCann was put under her responsibility, in the "Minis Club", with Ella, Jane Tanner's daughter.

The McCanns daily routine: Kate and Gerry took Madeleine to the crèche every morning, came back at lunch time, and after "high tea". She met Gerry more times, because he went to take Madeleine more frequently than Kate.

On May 3, 2007 she remembers that Gerry McCann took Madeleine to the crèche, between 9:15/9:20 am. She doesn't remember who took Madeleine out from the "Minis Club", for lunch, that day. Around 2:45 pm, Madeleine returned from lunch, but Catriona doesn't remember who took her to the crèche. In the afternoon, the children went swimming. Between 3:35/6:00 pm, May 3, Kate went to the area near Tapas Bar, and she took Madeleine with her. Kate was wearing a sports outfit and Catriona thought she had been jogging. She believes Gerry was playing tennis.

After her shift finished she went home. Around 10:30/10:35 pm, May 3, two room-mates came and told her that Madeleine was missing. She went out and helped in the searches, around the resort and onto the beach. She didn't see Gerry and Kate, on that night.

Mark Warner has a rule concerning the children's crèches: there is a registration sheet and the parents must sign it, when they leave and they take the children. Only parents can take the children, unless there is a previous communication that another identified person will do it. Thursday morning, May 3, all the children of the "Minis Club" went to the beach.

Mark Warner transferred Catriona Baker from the Ocean Club to another country one week after Madeleine disappeared on May 13, 2007. She never noticed anything strange about Madeleine's behaviour or in the relations she had with her parents, they looked a very happy family.
quote:
in een tweede verhoor mochten getuigen hun eerdere verklaringen (gegeven in Portugal) eerst terugzien om hun geheugen op te frissen: "During the interview, he let me refresh my memory by reading the translated version of my original statement to the PJ," Catriona Treasa Sicile Baker, one of the Ocean Club's nannies admitted. She was interviewed twice on April 14th 2008 by officer Gierc of the Leicestershire police - interview recorded on DVD - and her responses were, unsurprisingly, identical to those she gave to the PJ inspectors in Portugal, especially after having been able to, "refresh," her memory.

That is exactly what the British officers did with all the witnesses who had already been interviewed by PJ inspectors in Portugal in the days following Madeleine's disappearance, departing from the principle that the interviews were designed to find possible contradictions and to check the value of the first witness statements. Letting witnesses respond after having refreshed their memory, isn't that loading the results?" Bron

She never noticed anything strange about Madeleine's behaviour or in the relations she had with her parents, they looked a very happy family." Klopt niet helemaal, uit een eerdere post:
quote:
Katriona (sic) Baker, a British citizen who worked as a nanny at the tourist resort Ocean Club, in Praia da Luz, Algarve, and cared for missing Madeleine McCann for several days, does not spare criticism towards the child’s parents in the statement that she gave to the English authorities.

The nanny said that she only looked after the little girl during the day and remembers that Maddie cried a lot during a boat ride in Praia da Luz and screamed "I'm scared, I'm scared", failing to understand the reasons for the fact.

And she adds: she says that as soon as she heard about the disappearance of the child she ran through all of the places where Maddie usually went when she stayed at the crèche that exists at the Ocean Club; she guarantees that she saw neither Kate nor Gerry that evening, only seeing them again on the following Saturday (Maddie went missing on Thursday). One of the questions that the PJ asked from Kate, and to which there was no answer, was related to the reasons why she stayed at home while the searches were carried out.

No. of Company appointments: 5; (Resigned) replaced by Jon Corner, film producer and friend of the McCanns.

According to local sources, it was with some relief that the Ocean Club management saw the responsibility for the apartment that the McCann family chose to spend their holidays, taken away. ‘The owners were very unhappy with everything that happened. They picked up the house keys and took care of everything privately, without the resort’s intervention’, they referred."

quote:
"I had to pester him for an answer, which only added to my suspicion that it was Gerry and Kate's second home and for some reason they had pretended it was a holiday rental. We finally nailed it. The place belongs to a Ruth McCann, a teacher in Liverpool (where Kate is from), who inherited it from her late husband.

She told us she was no relation to Madeleine's family and hoped she wouldn't be pestered after my inquiry. In fact, she was more interested in learning whether she was likely to get compensation from the police who have, at last, kept the apartment as a locked crime scene.

I say all this, in a half-hour programme that's running at Christmas, as an illustration of this strange story in which it's not difficult to get sucked into looking for suspicion where none may exist. The chance of the McCanns renting a holiday home from someone of the same name is 7,500-to-one.

That also means that there were probably three people called McCann at the Bruce Springsteen concert at the 23,000-seat O2 arena in Greenwich last night."

Hajo Kahaarin.
quote:
DAILY MAIL: “Holiday apartment where Madeleine McCann went missing goes on sale for £250,000”

The infamous holiday flat where Madeleine McCann vanished has been put up for sale for £250,000.

Can a flat be “infamous”? It was the flat wot dunnit?

Potential buyers could begin viewing the flat from as early as next week, raising the possibility of voyeurs keen to see where the three-year-old disappeared looking round.

Dreadful. Better to just look around the property on the Mail’s website.

Flat 5A at the Ocean Club holiday complex has two bedrooms, measures 90 metres squared and is 20 years old. It is 500 metres from the beach.

Compact. Bijou. And handy for an abduction, allegedly… Does Our Maddie make it more or less valuable?

quote:
an article by: João Vasco Almeida

The first international poll about the Maddie case, done by Focus, reveals that both Portuguese and British are certain that Kate and Gerry McCann are guilty over their daughter’s disappearance. Concerning the little girl’s destiny, the numbers are even colder: She is dead.

The number is crushing: more than two thirds of the British and the Portuguese population blame the McCann couple for the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine, aged three, on the 3rd of May 2008 [sic], from an apartment in Praia da Luz, in the Algarve. An opinion poll that was commended to Eurosondagem by Portuguese Focus, and carried out in Portugal, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland leaves no margin for doubts. Despite the behavioural and cultural differences, the majority of populations replies affirmatively to two of the most direct questions of this inedited poll.

Nevertheless, when the numbers are evaluated according to nationalities, it becomes clear that in Portugal the blame that is popularly attributed to the McCanns rises to 77.5 percent. This means that only 22% of the population still believes that the Scottish couple has no responsibility in the disappearance of their eldest daughter.

The British, on the other hand, are divided, although the majority agrees with the Portuguese. The majority, 44.6 percent, states without a doubt that doctors Kate and Gerry are guilty over the disappearance of little Maddie.

The first question of the poll is unequivocal. In both countries, all the persons say that they know what happened on the 3rd of May. This means that it is not necessary to explain the McCann couple’s drama to anyone. Everyone, really everyone knows.

What divides the Portuguese and the British is the belief in Maddie’s destiny. While in Portugal it is believed that the child is dead, far away there is a hope that she is well. The abduction theory collects the sympathy of 72.9 percent of the British, against only 11 percent that sustain the death theory. But it is significant that 15 percent of the British wish to reply “I don’t know” to the question concerning the cause of the disappearance. De vragen e.d. >>>
Met nog een nieuwtje, nou ja nieuwtje..."Meanwhile, Focus knows that during the first weeks of September, the couple’s Portuguese lawyers are going to make a statement concerning the book by former inspector Gonçalo Amaral and announce which are the next steps that are to be made. On the other hand, Gonçalo Amaral is also waiting for September in order to decide whether he advances a process against the McCanns’ spokesman, Clarence Mitchell, or writes a new book."
maar...let's have it!

Tenslotte, take note K&G McCann, how lucky you are you are, getting away with it ....over een meisje van 3jr:THE appearance of a semi-clothed toddler alone in a busy shopping street has sparked alarm. "After the Madeleine McCann situation, everyone should be aware that child protection is the very highest priority – doors must be locked out of a child’s reach – anything could have happened.” A police spokeswoman said: “It’s a very alarming incident. We were alerted of the girl at Talbot Green police station and have passed the matter on to social services. “ We will continue to look into it to see if a criminal offence has been committed.”

quote:
She states that the McCann couple have three children, twins aged two and Madeleine, nearly four years. She thinks the idea of coming to Portugal came from her daughter. She believes her daughter knows Portugal.

The informant arrived in Portugal on April 28th at around 12h20/12h30 from Leicestershire to Faro and then to Praia da Luz. From Faro to the Ocean Club they they used the airport's shuttle service. After checking in, she was placed in apartment G5H with her family. (Her daughter, her son-in-law and their two small children)

Concerning the usual routines, the informant states that she only spent part of each afternoon with her family and that not always. Sometimes she read, she went shopping or did other things. As for the mornings, she only had lunch one day with her family, Wednesday, because it was raining. On the other days, she spent the mornings playing tennis.

Concerning the day yesterday, she went to the beach with the children, her son-in-law and her daughter. They arrived there at around 15h45 and left at around 18h15 to go to the tennis courts where she stayed until 19h00. The informant then went to the apartment with the small children and ten minutes later, her son-in-law, David, joined them. With her son-in-law's help, they bathed the children.

They left the apartment at around 20h45 and accompanied by her son-in-law and her daughter, they went to join the rest of the group at the "TAPAS" restaurant. The McCann couple were amongst the other friends at dinner. To our question, the informant told us that given that her daughter had an intercom allowing them to hear if the children were shouting or crying, no one went to check on the spot. However, she reported that Kate and Gerald as well as other couples went a few times, on a regular basis, to make sure their children were OK. During one of these checks, Kate came back, frightened and nervous, even panicked, saying that Madeleine had disappeared.

They immediately organised search parties, in the apartment, thinking that she could be hiding in there, then outside. In spite of help from the Ocean Club's employees, the searches were fruitless. The informant does not know Madeleine well, because she lives a long way from the McCanns, and she cannot say very much about Madeleine's personality. Nevertheless, she reports that Madeleine was calm but active and energetic and well brought up. She is an attractive and a good child.

During this holiday, she has noticed nothing unusual or which could be linked to the investigation. She has no other details to add. After reading with the interpreter, who explains to her, she goes on and signs.
quote:
1. Did they really stay at the beach from 3.45pm to 6.15pm? No, they were filmed on CCTV at the Paraiso at between 5pm and 6pm (see August News of the World article).

2. No mention of seeing Kate jogging at around 5.20pm as some of the other 'Tapas 9' claim.

3. She is vague about her separation from David and Fiona at 7.00pm. Did all three of them stay on the tennis court until 7.00pm? She does not say so.

4. She says she returns to the flat with her grandchildren. She does not mention Fiona.

5. She says David came back at 7.10pm. Once again she does not mention Fiona.

6. So where was Fiona?

7. She makes no mention of (a) Gerry McCann asking David Payne to visit Kate McCann nor (b) of David going up to the McCanns' apartment at around 6.20pm/6.30pm

8. Her statement does not exclude the possibility that she did not see David between 6.15pm and 7.10pm - nearly an hour. Where exactly was he?

9. This is a very 'spare' statement with very little detail given. I might characterise and describe it as: 'evasive'

"British police from the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Agency (Ceop) have so far received more than 500 images which they plan to cross-reference against a database of pictures of UK paedophiles and other criminals." 25 May 2007 BBC De link om foto's up te loaden: http://www.madeleine.ceopupload.com/

Maar dan...

To date, the PJ have not received a single photo as a result of the appeal launched by Leicestershire Police who asked holidaymakers who had stayed in PdL to send copies of any photos taken during the 2 weeks prior to Madeleine McCann's disappearance.

The appeal was launched jointly by Leicestershire Police CEOP and ACPO. According to a source close to the UK enquiry several hundred photos reached the British authorities, most of which were uploaded to internet pages created specifically for this purpose.

"We will evaluate these images - at a rate of 1,000 frames per hour - so that we can pass on any significant information to the Portuguese authorities in a timely manner", promised Jim Gamble, Head of CEOP.

The official aim of this campaign was, according to Jim Gamble, to move forward the investigation into Madeleine's disappearance, including the use of facial recognition software on images showing any people "who appear out of context or are behaving strangely." "We wonder what the real purpose of this public appeal was.… We have not had access to these photos," confirmed one of the investigators, who stressed that the only photos received by the PJ had been sent direct by witnesses.
Also explored were information related to the delivery of photographs from individuals in the area for holidays and obtained by the Police, along with various hotel chains, whose examinations yielded nothing useful." Shame on you all...

Eén quootje: "The family GP has insisted she came into contact with at least SIX dead bodies before going on holiday with her husband and three children."

05/09/08 Joana Morais
quote:
Maddie: journalists tried to break into window - Portugal Diário

During the month of September, the PJ received various alerts of foreign journalists who tried to enter the Ocean Club bedroom where the British child disappeared from.

Several journalists tried to film and photograph the inside of the bedroom where Maddie disappeared from on the 3rd of May 2007. In some situations, they even tried to force the apartment’s shutters open.

Kate and Gerry McCann returned to London on the 9th of September 2007, and a few days after they left the villa that they rented in Praia da Luz, the real estate agency was contacted by a journalist who tried to rent the property in order to carry out some filming. The request was denied.

On the morning of the 20th of September, the executive manager of the Ocean Club noticed the presence of three television reporters on the outside of the apartment where the McCann family spent their holidays. The two men and one woman had already forced the shutters of the bedroom where the children slept. It was the manager herself who expelled them from the location, while suspecting that their goal was to film the inside of the property.

Five days later, the firm that is responsible for the Ocean Club’s security was summoned to the same location due to the insistent presence of three further journalists in the patio that accesses the apartments.

They tried to ‘buy off’ the cleaning ladies

Even the cleaning personnel declared that they were approached by several journalists so they could access the inside of the apartment.

Whenever the pretension was denied, they offered money in return for said access. While in the former situations foreign journalists were identified, in this last attempt the nationality is not identified in the process that was made public on the 4th of August 2008, after the investigation was archived and the judicial secrecy was lifted.

No danger of ‘contamination’

On the 26th of September, in the early evening, the Polícia Judiciária (PJ) was contacted by a security guard from the Ocean Club, who informed that he had found the bedroom shutters up. Two inspectors traveled to the location and verified that said shutters had been raised, from the outside, until half the height of the window. But nothing was broken and there were no indicia of the window having been broken into.

A police source that is connected to the investigation explained to Portugal Diário that at the time, no processes were opened against the journalists because there was no ‘risk of contamination of the premises’ anymore.

Without indicia that the McCann couple had committed any crime, the Public Ministry determined the archiving of the process. On the 21st of July of 2008, Kate and Gerry, together with Robert Murat, saw their arguido status lifted. source: Portugal Diário, 03.09.2008 by astro
En verder is Kate McCann nog steeds boos, ach ach...wijffie toch: "In an interview with the Portuguese newspaper Expresso, published tomorrow, Mrs McCann, 40, is asked what she thinks of Amaral and his book, a bestseller in Portugal. She replies: "It's a disgrace." Daily Mail Sue him.... !

Take note,' reporters' of The Sun and also Sky News, gelezen op de site van Joana Morais:
quote:
McCann's Cadaver Dogs Video:PJ Final Report

Excerpt of The Judiciary Police Report - All Investigation

pages 35 and 36

(...)Now the question related to the performance of the British dogs will be covered, along with the consequent quality assumed by the parents of MADELEINE, once again with the ability to revisit the description later in the report.

In this way, from pages 1989 and following, one can read the full report by MARK HARRISON, whose speciality is the search for missing people or homicide victims, including catastrophe scenarios. He provided the use of canines, specialized in the detection of vestiges of human blood and human cadaver odor.

This is an inspection technique commonly used in the United Kingdom, frequently with positive results, consisting of the utilization of two especially trained dogs.

One of the dogs is trained to detect cadaver odor and the other to detect vestiges of human blood, with existing knowledge that their prior usage had resulted in significant results, principally in the detection of vestiges, which had then been, later, confirmed in the laboratory.

After a positive joint meeting with the British police, it was decided to use this capability and a large number of objects and locations were examined, with these diligences being recorded in films which are included in the documentation (appendix III).

In some of these locations and objects, the animals exhibited the behaviour of identification and “signalling”, including:

pages 37 and 38

1 - Apartment 5A, of the resort ‘Ocean Club’, place from where the child disappeared.

- cadaver odour dog:
*in the couple’s bedroom, in a corner, close to the wardrobe;
*in the living room, behind the sofa, close to the lateral window of the apartment;

- blood dog:
* in the living room, behind the sofa, close to the lateral window of the apartment (exactly as it was signalled by the cadaver odour dog);

2 – Area of the backyard, close to the apartment 5A:

- cadaver odour dog:
* in a flowerbed, commented by the dog handler the lightness of the scent detected;

3 – Apartments where the rest of the elements of the group stayed

* NOTHING was detected by any of the dogs;

4 – House of the MCCANNs at the date of the inspection [second apartment]

* NOTHING at the house, was detected by any of the dogs;

5 - In the area of Vila da Luz

* NOTHING was detected by any of the dogs;

6 – In the clothes and belongings of the Family MCCANN

- cadaver odour dog:
* in two pieces of clothing belonging to KATE HEALY
* in a piece of clothing of the minor MADELEINE
* in the plush toy, possibly belonging to MADELEINE (it was detected cadaver odour, when the plush was inside the residence – at the date occupied by the family)

7 – In the vehicle used by the MCCANN family

- cadaver odour dog:
* signalled the key of the vehicle;

- blood dog:
* signalled the key of the vehicle;
* signalled the interior of the vehicle’s boot;

8 – In the vehicle used by a friend of the family, who stayed in the same resort, matching some of the holiday days.

pages 39 and 40

* NOTHING was detected by either dog;

9. In all the vehicles that were used by arguido ROBERT MURAT and persons that are close to him;

* NOTHING was detected by either dog.

(in a total of ten vehicles, the cadaver odour dog and the blood odour dog only signaled the vehicle that belonged to the MCCANN family, which was rented on the 27th of May)

On the locations and the pieces that were marked and signaled by the blood dog, forensics tests were performed, especially at a reputed British laboratory (Forensic Science Service – check Appendixes I and VII – FSS Final Report) but also, some of them at the reputed National Institute of Forensics Medicine (check Appendix I), whose final results did not corroborate the canine markings, which is to say, cellular material was collected that was not identified as pertaining to anyone specific, and it was not even possible to determine the quality of that material (v.g. whether it could be blood or another type of bodily fluid).

But during a first scientific approach (pages 2617 and following), the possibility of a match between the DNA profile of MADELEINE and some of the collected residues (among which those that existed in the Renault Scenic that had been rented by the McCANN couple were abundant) was raised; a match which, as can be verified in the aforementioned final report from the FSS, failed to be verified, after the execution of long and complex testing.

On pages 2461 and following, the translation of the comments that were made by the dog handler, during the inspection actions, was appended.

Based on the action of the canine team and the aforementioned initial scientific approach, which revealed the possibility of the existence of a cadaver inside the apartment and in the vehicle that was used by the MCCANN family, and in order to allow for GERALD McCANN and KATE HEALY to see their position within the process safeguarded, they were made arguidos, in face of the mere possibility of their involvement with the possible cadaver. During the questioning as arguidos, they denied any responsibility in the disappearance of their daughter.

It may be questioned that KATE HEALY was not immediately made an arguida, but rather inquired, as a witness, and only afterwards, following said inquirition, did she assume that quality.

Therefore, the constitution of KATE HEALY as an arguida was made when she was confronted with concrete elements that might lead to her incrimination, a fact that, within the terms of the penal process law, would officiously force that constitution.

Goeiedag zeg... Met variaties in de koppen zoals deze: More than £1m (¤1.23m) has been spent hunting for missing Madeleine McCann, her parents revealed today.

Stukje uit The Herald: "The father of Madeleine McCann has admitted the possibility that his missing daughter may be dead. In the first interview with Kate and Gerry McCann since they were formally cleared of involvement in the case, Mr McCann says: "I will be honest. We have got no idea whether Madeleine is alive or not. What we are certain of is that there is absolutely no evidence." Lijkt me genoeg reden om eens in de UK onderzoek te doen naar dat fonds, geheid dat er weer om geld wordt gebedeld, maar wie gaat nu nog geld geven vooral nadat filmpje van gisteren waarin duidelijk te zien was wát Eddie en Keela hebben gevonden....

In de Portugese krant Expresso staat vandaag ook een interview met de McCanns, een teasertje:

Maar goed, als er meer geld nodig is dan kunnen de McCanns en hun vrienden ook een belofte waarmaken:
Reminder: Gerry's sister Philomena McCann said yesterday the couple and even other relatives may have to sell their homes. Asked if it was an option she said: "It's a possibility, yes. These things happen. "Money and property is not as important as family and love, is it? Not to me anyway." 15/09/2007 The Mirror Toen lwam branson op de proppen: "Branson, who has been in regular contact with the couple since their daughter went missing, hopes that it could amass £1m. The money would mean that members of the McCann family could drop their plans to sell their houses to pay legal costs." The Times en ook de BBC Maar ja, die is er niet meer nadat de McCanns tot arguido's werden verklaard...dus de verloop van huizen is een mooie optie.

INTRODUCTION: Cadaver dogs are known as valuable forensic tools in crime scene investigations. Scientific research attempting to verify their value is largely lacking, specifically for scents associated with the early postmortem interval. The aim of our investigation was the comparative evaluation of the reliability, accuracy, and specificity of three cadaver dogs belonging to the Hamburg State Police in the detection of scents during the early postmortem interval. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Carpet squares were used as an odor transporting media after they had been contaminated with the scent of two recently deceased bodies (PMI<3h). The contamination occurred for 2 min as well as 10 min without any direct contact between the carpet and the corpse. Comparative searches by the dogs were performed over a time period of 65 days (10 min contamination) and 35 days (2 min contamination). RESULTS: The results of this study indicate that the well-trained cadaver dog is an outstanding tool for crime scene investigation displaying excellent sensitivity (75-100), specificity (91-100), and having a positive predictive value (90-100), negative predictive value (90-100) as well as accuracy (92-100).

Breaking News08:40 WORLD: More than £1m spent on hunt for Madeleine.
06/09/08

More than £1m (¤1.23m) has been spent hunting for missing Madeleine McCann, her parents revealed today.

Kate and Gerry McCann said that in less than a year the Find Madeleine fund had paid £1m (¤1.23m) to Spain’s Metodo 3 detective agency to search for her.

And the pair told the Daily Mirror they would spend whatever it takes to uncover the truth.

Mrs McCann, 40, told the newspaper: “We can’t set a limit. A child does not have a price. We will pay what we have to. It just takes one person to make the one phone call we so hope for. We know she was abducted and believe someone knows or suspects something.

“We want to find her alive. But if she is dead we want to know. There’s nothing in the police report that indicates anything bad has happened to her.”

The two doctors, from Rothley, Leicestershire, spoke of their bitterness at having ever been made suspects in the case.

Mrs McCann strongly condemned detective Goncalo Amaral, who led the hunt and later wrote a book on the case, labelling his behaviour “a disgrace”.

Mr McCann, 40, said: “We were investigated in the most intimate detail. ’How did you get rid of her? Who helped you? Where did you put her?’

“My plan was to stay quiet and not answer. But the first question was, ’Are you involved in the disappearance of your daughter?’ It was nonsense and I decided to respond.”

Mr McCann again expressed his anguish at leaving Madeleine alone with twins Sean and Amelie as they went for dinner in Portugal’s Praia da Luz resort.

But he said the couple were “not negligent” but “profoundly regret” what happened.

The pair said their three-year-old twins have been vital in helping them cope with their ordeal.

The youngsters still talk about when their sister Madeleine comes home.

And their parents say keeping the missing five-year-old’s memory alive for the twins is helping the couple through their torment.

All I will say about this, and because I'm not going to waste my time on Mr Amaral, is that as a professional and as a person his behaviour has been a disgrace."

Gerry McCann buried Madeleine's body on the beach, Portuguese detective says - Telegraph

The Portuguese detective who was sacked as head of the team investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann has accused her father of burying her body on the beach near their holiday apartment the same night that she was reported missing.

By David Harrison Last Updated: 5:56PM BST 06 Sep 2008
In the latest of a series of extraordinary claims about the case, Goncalo Amaral, says he believes that Maddy died accidently in the McCann's rented flat as the result of a fall and that her father disposed of the body.

The disgraced detective - who has sold 120,000 copies of a book he has just published a book about the case - says an Irishman had claimed that he had seen Mr McCann with a child in his arms walking towards the beach on the night that Maddy reportedly disappeared.

The McCanns dismissed the claims, made in an interview with a Spanish newspaper, as "ridiculous".

Clarence Mitchell, the family's spokesman, said: "As Kate has said today Mr Amaral is a complete disgrace. "His comments are grossly defamatory and utterly without foundation."

Mr Amaral, who has now retired from Portugal's Judicial Police investigation force, says in the El Mundo newspaper: "The Portuguese police, like the British [police], and also the prosecutor, who has now changed his opinion, thought the same. We are talking of a death involving third parties, not of homicide.

"In the bedroom blood and the smell of a body were found just below a window where there was a sofa. The father was there for a short time just outside this window having a conversation with a friend.

"The parents said the girl did not have a bad dream. Maybe the girl heard the father and climbed onto the sofa under the window. But the parents had pulled it away from the wall. so that the girl would not get out, and Madeleine could have fallen."

The former policeman talks about the Irish witness seeing Mr McCann carrying a child towards the beach and about sniffer dogs finding traces of blood and the scent of a body on the wall of the apartment and in the boot of a car the couple hired 23 days after Maddy disappeared.

This prompts the interviewer to ask: "Gerry McCann buried his daughter on the beach and then disinterred her and put her in the boot 23 days later?" Amaral replies: "We don't know. The Irish witness I have spoken about saw on television Gerry with a child in his arms arriving in the United Kingdom and declared it was the same image that he had seen in May in Portugal. This man went two days without sleeping when he realised what he had discovered."

The interviewer says that Amaral's claim implies that the Tapas Nine - the McCanns and their friends who dined together on the night of Maddy's disappearance - had all ageed to lie.

Amaral says: "All of them. Because, in case you don't know, British legislation covering negligence in caring for children is very hard...In the United Kingdom, if you leave a child alone for half an hour you will lose custody. After the death of Madeleine, if it had been made public that it was an accident, all of them would have lost custody [of their children]."

The former detective describes how on one occasion during a meeting Kate McCann had lowered her head and seemed to be totally distracted for several seconds before coming back to being her usual self. "It appeared that she had escaped from the role that she was interpreting," he says.

Asked how she reacted when she was asked if Maddy had been killed by falling from the sofa he replies: "She didn't say anything, she just lowered her head for a moment as if she was on the point of fainting. She had an emotional crack that lasted for just a moment."

Amaral adds: "For me, Gerry hid the body of Madeleine on the beach. And after some days he transfered it to his car. We were working in this direction. "We lacked establishing the date, some details, but we were on the way. The Irishman was on the point of coming to Portugal, but it took too long, and there were external pressures. In the end he didn't make a statement to the [Judicial] Police."

A friends of the McCanns dismissed Amaral's claims as "nonsense and legally extremely dangerous", and said that Kate and Gerry would sue Amaral if he published his book in the UK.

Mr Mitchell said: "Mr Amaral needs to be very careful in repeating those allegations. Kate and Gerry's lawyers are watching his words very carefully. "He is also completely at odds with with his own Attorney-General who, in lifting Kate and Gerry's "arguido" - official suspect - status, made it clear that there is no evidence to suggest they are guilty of any crime whatsoever."
But you will not sue Amaral , you're all to scared!

quote:
"The deliberately misleading news of their generosity comes a day after The Sun tried to discredit two highly trained, highly respected and highly insured British trained sniffer dogs, for the sole reason of laying the blame for Madeleine's fate on detectives who along with other Portuguese tax payers, have spent far more in the search for Maddie than the McCanns, Branson or Kennedy ever have or are likely to. They also spent far more time looking for her - which isn't too difficult as the McCanns believe it is the responsibility of others to get down and on their hands and knees in the dirt looking for clues. The McCanns like others to do their dirty work for them.

Perhaps the British media would like to publish a more accurate headline - "The McCanns running out of money and want yours so Dr Kate doesn't have to work and handle more corpses - it's so hard to get the smell of one's clothes"

quote:
I'll fund the McCanns until they find Maddie, vows double-glazing tycoon Kennedy
By Daniel Boffey Last updated at 10:05 PM on 06th September 2008
The multi-millionaire tycoon financing Kate and Gerry McCann's search for their daughter has said he will support them for the rest of his life if necessary. Double-glazing magnate Brian Kennedy, 48, said he would use his estimated £450million fortune to back the couple as long as Madeleine remained missing.

His pledge will alleviate concerns about what will happen when Madeleine's Fund, made up largely of public donations, runs out. There is currently less than £500,000 in the kitty, with £1million having already been spent on the hunt for Madeleine since her disappearance in May last year

Team McCann is now hiring a fifth group of private investigators to help with the search. Mr Kennedy, who has five children with his wife Christine, lives in Wilmslow, Cheshire, and made his money through double-glazing firm Everest. He had not met the McCanns before offering his help but now speaks to them almost daily.

A source said: ‘Mr Kennedy got involved after seeing Kate on television after she became an arguido. He felt compelled to do something. A fifth company is going to be hired. 'Everything that can be done is being done. But it is like looking for a grain of sand on a sea shore. The team are just desperate for leads now.’

The couple's lawyers are still sifting through 13,000 pages of Portuguese police files, released last month. One team of investigators believed they had found Madeleine in Morocco last year – but it turned out to be an American girl being kept against her will in a dispute between her parents.

‘It was desperately disappointing when it turned out not to be Madeleine,’ said a source. ‘It was a low point for everyone concerned.’ Madeleine’s Fund is already paying investigators Metodo 3, Control Risks, Oakley International and an unnamed fourth company. However, as The Mail on Sunday revealed last month, Oakley will not have its current £500,000 contract extended after missing a series of targets set by Mr Kennedy.

Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns' spokesman, said: ‘We will leave no stone unturned in finding Madeleine.’

Ook veelzeggend, het Telegraph-artikel welke ik gisteravond heb gepost (hierboven) is van de site verwijderd....Een 3arguido-poster schrijft Ultimately, the Telegraph and associated outlets will have journos monitoring forums but what about the governments Media Monitoring Unit - who are the powers behind the pulling of this article and why? Perhaps they are one and the same? Of maakt Clarence Mitchell gelijk z'n woorden waar in het teruggetrokken Telegraph-artikel: "Mr Amaral needs to be very careful in repeating those allegations. Kate and Gerry's lawyers are watching his words very carefully." En dan gehoorzaamt de Telegraph heel braaf....

The UK is becoming a Stasi-nation....imo.

Gonçalo Amaral: Gerry McCann hid Madeleine's corpse on the Beach El Mundo

Thanks to Joana Morais and 'Ines' for translation (some amendments have been made to the original translation)
* The apartment window always stayed shut, in spite of what Kate McCann said

* The girl might have fallen from the sofa; there could have been an accident because of the sleeping solution

MADRID - He arrives late, with a certain 'star' look. His book (Esquilo, 2008), which will be officially presented on the 9th of September, has sold 120,000 copies in two weeks, a record in Portugal.

This, once begun, was unstoppable. Gonçalo Amaral, the visible head of an investigation that had thousands of people in suspense, tells why he remains insistent that it was Madeleine's parents, Kate and Gerry, who were responsible for her disappearance.

Question – You defend the theory that the parents are responsible for what happened to Madeleine McCann.

Answer – No. That is not in the book.

Q - However that is the theory that one can understand from reading it.
A - The summary also draws the same conclusion of the book.
Q - What are the points, that you believe, implicate the McCanns in the disappearance of their daughter?
A - The first thing is that they always defended the theory of the abduction. The mother said that the window of the room was open when she saw that the girl was not there. That is not correct, the window was closed and it is impossible for the girl to have left that way. We worked in the apartment and the window was closed. The parents have always argued that the girl was alive and they were the first to raise that Maddie could be dead.
Q - Other evidence?
A - The witnesses, there were several inconsistencies between their statements. Those that had dinner with the McCanns that night, their friends, invented the system of monitoring of the children. Why? There are many details that lead one to think about the culpability of the parents. There are two different lists about the monitoring system.
Q - You talk about inconsistencies in the statements about the monitoring system. The book also indicates that the nine people who had dinner together drank an average of eight bottles of wine, four of red and four of white. Isn't there the possibility that, between the disappearance and the alcohol, they were confused and that they did not remember the exact minutes in which they watched the children?
A - Okay, but then there is the window where we found Kate's finger prints, the mother of the girl. She said that she had never touched that window, and the cleaning lady assured that she had cleaned it on the previous day. And above all she said that the window was open when it was closed, it doesn't add up.
Q - Would it be possible that the mother or the father closed the window later, when returning to the room to search for the girl?
A - There are three people who say that they walked in front of the apartment and saw the window closed. They did not state that it was open? Which left? And there are other things. The mother says that she entered the room and the windows were open and the shutters were raised. No one else saw that. They simulated an abduction. They wanted us to say that someone entered the apartment with the intention of theft and when they saw the girl they killed her.
Q - That could have happened?
A – It is very complicated.
Q - Why?
A - Let us return to the people who passed in front of the apartment. Nobody saw anything strange. We investigated all the people who were involved in theft in the area. There were no unknown fingerprints in the apartment, of course they could have used gloves, that is true, but that could not be. In addition, the parents were the first to talk about death. And it is normal to think that their daughter could have died, but they have never admitted this in public. But I do not believe that the parents killed her.
Q - So, what are we talking about?
A - About an accident. The child could have fallen from a sofa, could have had an accident with Calpol (a sleeping solution). We never had access to the girl's medical history, so we don't know whether she was healthy or not. We can only speculate. There are many very strange details.

Note: the full interview is a paid article. This is the free version.

New slur on Madeline McCann's father Gerry by shamed cop The Mirror
By Nick Owens 7/09/2008
Shamed Portuguese detective Goncalo Amaral stooped to a new low last night - disgracefully claiming Gerry McCann buried daughter Madeleine on a beach the night she went missing. In his most sickening outburst yet, sacked Amaral said Gerry went back days later to move her body so the police would never find it.

Last night Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns official spokesman, said: "Mr Amaral is a complete disgrace. His repetitive slurs are not only grossly defamatory but they are completely unfounded. "What he says is so utterly at odds with reality it beggars belief.

"Kate and Gerry are looking and watching at everything he does and will not hesitate to take legal action against him if he continues to act in this sickening manner." Last week Kate herself spoke angrily about Amaral. She said: "As a professional and a person he has been a disgrace."
Pardon? All that I am going to say about this – because I'm not going to waste any time on Mr Amaral – is that as a professional and as a person his behaviour has been a disgrace." If you are lying at least get your lies straight....

Soft toy found by death smell - Correio da Manhã
Investigation: CM reveals images of the dogs’ work Afbeelding

The cadaver odour on Madeleine McCann’s soft toy was proved when the sniffer dog was able to find it while hidden inside a closed cupboard.

The process of the toy’s marking is demonstrated by the images from the investigation’s videos that are published by Correio da Manhã, as well as the moment when the springer spaniel that is trained to detect the smell of death, changes its behaviour next to a piece of Kate’s clothing.

The cadaver odour on the soft toy was marked inside the residence that was being occupied by the McCanns in July 2007, but the experts repeated the diligence in a scenario outside the house, where the dog, ‘Eddie’, gave signal again.

Confronted with the indicia that resulted from the inspection done by the dogs, which are widely used in the United Kingdom – English expert Martin Grime asserts that in over two hundred searches, the sniffer dogs have never marked a false positive – the Polícia Judiciária questioned Kate and Gerry and made them arguidos. The authorities were forced to admit a possible involvement of the McCann couple in their daughter’s disappearance and to confront them with elements that could result in incrimination.

Kate McCann, who after Maddie’s disappearance was accompanied everywhere – and in a visible manner – of her daughter’s favourite toy, did not deny the fact that two pieces of her clothing and her daughter’s soft toy had been marked by the English dog that is trained to detect cadaver odour and justified the fact with her profession: she alleged that as a doctor at the Health Centre in Leicester she attended six death situations during the period immediately before her vacation time in Portugal.

Manipulated evidence

The soft toy was found on the bed where Maddie allegedly slept on the night that she went missing, but on the bed, no cadaver odour was detected, contrary to the soft toy. This fact led the Polícia Judiciária to believe that the crime scene was manipulated in order to better justify the abduction theory that is sustained by the McCanns and their friends.

In one of the investigation reports the inspectors write that the soft toy was placed on the bed’s end in a moment that was posterior to the disappearance. “There was an intentional modification, in an attempt to take advantage for the simulation of the abduction scenario”, the process reads.

McCanns devalue dogs

Kate and Gerry McCann continue to defend that Madeleine McCann was abducted on the evening of the 3rd of May 2007, in the Algarve, and they devalue the indicia that was collected during the investigation – mainly the traces that were detected by the sniffer dogs.

“The frailty of these dogs was proved in a study that was carried out in the USA”, the McCanns stated in an interview to ‘Expresso’, reiterating the hope of finding their daughter alive: “We want to find her alive, but if she’s dead we want to know. There is nothing in the process to indicate that something bad has happened to her.”

Kate and Gerry say that they “firmly” believe that Maddie was abducted by a man and they criticise the former case coordinator, Gonçalo Amaral, who defends the homicide theory. “His behaviour has been a disgrace”, they said, considering that the success of his book is a case of “illicit enrichment”.

“Suing the McCanns is a possibility to consider” (Gonçalo Amaral, former coordinator of the Madeleine McCann case)

Correio da Manhã – How do you react to the McCanns’ statement that your behaviour is a disgrace?

Gonçalo Amaral – That happens in the sequence of a campaign, it’s normal for that hostility to exist. Concerning that type of accusations, they have to be pondered…

- Does that mean that you consider the possibility of suing the McCanns?

- Yes, it’s a possibility to consider.

- How do you interpret the fact that the McCanns devalue the dogs’ work?

- It’s a form of defence. To them, we are all incompetent, but that is not how the dogs are seen in the United Kingdom, where they are widely used and with success.

- The McCanns say that the English police are more experienced in abductions…

- They can present a formal complaint about their daughter’s abduction to the English police instead of using private detectives.

Details

200 searches – Expert Martin Grime asserts that in over 200 searches the sniffer dogs have never failed.

Vehicle – ‘Eddie’ and ‘Keela’, which are trained to detect the odour of human cadavers and blood, marked the car that was rented by the McCann couple among ten vehicles.

Robert Murat – The cars that were used by Murat, the first to become an arguido, were inspected by the dogs but nothing was detected.

Decisive – The investigation changed its course after the traces that were detected by the dogs.

Notes

16 months: Missing – Madeleine McCann disappeared 16 months ago from the Ocean Club resort, in Praia da Luz, Algarve, where she was spending holidays with her parents and her twin siblings. It was on the evening of May 3, 2007.

Detectives: 1.2 million – Kate and Gerry McCann, Maddie’s parents, guarantee that they have already spent 1.2 million euros from the FindMadeleine Fund, with the private investigation into their daughter’s disappearance.

Investigation: Case archived – In July, the Public Ministry archived the investigation into Maddie’s disappearance. The abduction theory was dismissed and homicide was pointed out as more likely. source: Correio da Manhã, 07.09.2008 by astro
