H&M the international retail giant and their head of design Margareta van den Bosch have teamed up with Madonna to create a line of clothing and accessories that are scheduled to arrive in all stores carrying the women's wear collection, around the world in March 2007, it was announced today.

US publication Women's Wear Daily have given this background on the H&M - M by Madonna collection due to hit stores next March:

Steven Klein has shot the ad campaign for Madonna's second collection with Sweden's fast-fashion giant Hennes & Mauritz.
Industry sources say the mood is ultraglamorous and, surprise, very sexy. The ads feature curve-hugging silhouettes, military details and satin cummerbunds, and the pieces reflect Madonna's own wardrobe, which is packed with tight skirts, high heels and sunglasses.
As reported, M by Madonna is slated to hit stores this March. An H&M spokeswoman declined to comment.

AMSTERDAM - Het Openbaar Ministerie in Amsterdam gaat popster Madonna niet vervolgen voor godslastering of belediging, zo heeft het OM maandag laten weten.

De SGP-jongeren hadden aangifte gedaan tegen Madonna wegens haar optreden in de Amsterdam Arena in september vorig jaar.

Het ging de vereniging vooral om het nummer Live To Tell waarin Madonna aan een kruis hangt met een doornenkroon op het hoofd. Die scène stoorde de jongeren, maar volgens het OM was het schouwspel voor meerdere interpretaties vatbaar.

Teleurstelling

Het OM vindt dat de zangeres met het optreden "kennelijk haar teleurstelling en frustratie heeft trachten te uiten over bepaalde gebeurtenissen in de wereld". Justitie vindt niet dat er sprake is van verachting voor God, en daarom is haar optreden in juridische zin niet te kwalificeren als een strafbaar feit.

Verder is het OM van mening dat tijdens het optreden van Madonna de christenen "als groep" niet in diskrediet zijn gebracht en dat ook hun waardigheid niet is miskend. De megaster zelf heeft altijd ontkend dat de kruisigingsscène godslasterlijk was bedoeld.

Ze noemde die "niet antichristelijk of godslasterlijk", maar juist een oproep om aardig te zijn voor elkaar. Uit christelijke hoek kwamen destijds meer protesten. De Amerikaanse tv-zender NBC zond de scène niet uit.

Donner

De aangifte, bij de officier van justitie in Amsterdam, was gebaseerd op strafbare godslastering, maar ook op belediging van een groep mensen wegens hun godsdienst. Eerder al had minister Piet Hein Donner van Justitie aangegeven geen aanleiding te zien om extra scherp naar de show te kijken.

In een reactie zeggen de SGP-jongeren teleurgesteld te zijn over de reactie en de motivatie van het OM. "Wat de SGP-jongeren betreft wordt de werking van artikel 147, het verbod op godslastering, weer in ere gesteld. Dat het OM dit niet doet, beschouwt de SGP als een gemiste kans'', zo staat in de reactie.

De SGP-jongeren hebben maandag overigens nadat de beslissing via de media werd verspreid, pas een fax van het OM ontvangen met daarin de beslissing. Eerder zou de betreffende brief nog moeten worden ondertekend door hoge functionarissen, zo werd de SGP meegedeeld bij navraag bij het Openbaar Ministerie.

"Kennelijk was de bezinning binnen het OM nog niet gereed en het eindoordeel nog niet definitief, zo stellen de jongeren. Volgens het OM is er ,,intern inderdaad iets misgegaan''.

Today we can bring you more exclusive tidbits from this tongue in cheek and hilarious forthcoming commercial. The full lenght commercial is 1 and half minute long and it's basically a short comedy skit which is used to show H&M clothes in a funny, unconventional way, with Madonna plays a fashion guru that has to restyle the look of a 20something girl, a charachter between a punk gal and an harajuku girl. (braids, asian look, short kilt skirt, red sleeveless jacket and huge headphones).

Escorted into Madonna's white office by two models/assistants, a blond and a brunette, passing through white rooms with huge doors, the girl is presented to the Queen of Fashion awaiting behind her desk with 4 assistants behind her. A close shot of an incredibly beautiful Madonna's is then shown, saying to the girl: "How can I help it". Then the girl's left sock goes down by its own and the girl puts down the other one. Madonna says: "I Like It".

Change to another sequence. Madonna beats with her black whip a huge screen with the word "FASHION" projected on it saying: It, it, it. She then asks to the girl: "What is it?"
The girl says: "I think..". Madonna interupts her saying: "Don't think it, you need to know it".

Then Madonna's two fashion stylist, (a tall and shorter one who are indeed very stereotyped - French accent included), are introduced in the next sequence, taking place in a dark room from which the three of them are looking at the girl through a see-through, police station-like mirror while she is waiting in the next room, wondering what they can do to rescue the girl's image.

Then the sylist take care of the girl, trying different looks on her. The right one of course will end up being the same H&M style Madonna wears in the final sequence. When the girl comes out of the room Madonna is satisfied with the result and says:"You made it". The shorter stylist bows to Madonnas feet saying: "No, you made it".

Madonna then takes the girl under her arm and leaves the room with her saying: "and I love it", while one of stylists dances with the girl's old punk wear on.

The commercial is really great and uses most of the same settings you've seen in the campaign images - or we should better say it's actually the other way round. This also explains why you also have a picture of Madonna in a dark room, with a black scratched table, while she has been posing for all the other images in white, glaring and hi-tech scenarios.

Obviously all the female characters in the commercial proudly sport their H&M looks, everything in simple black, white and neutral colors - just like the entire collection designed by Madonna.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE is busy writing songs for MADONNA. The former NSYNC star is collaborating with the Queen Of Pop on her forthcoming album, which is due out in November.

Justin confirmed: “I have been working on some new music.

Justin headed into a West London studio yesterday with Madge.

He is in the country for a few weeks as he prepares to kick off the UK leg of his current world tour.

Justin Timberlake was interviewed in todays edition of Scottish newspaper the Daily Record - a small part of the interview focused on his current work with Madonna:

....but before then, he is continuing a new-found collaboration with queen of pop Madonna.
The exiting pairing has already produced five songs - a couple of R'n'B numbers and a couple of dance records.
Justin said: 'Some of the dance stuff hasn't the in-your-face energy of Hung Up but it's got this mellow R'n'B thing on top of dance accompaniment which Timbaland is doing the beats for.'
'It's all still in demo phases and I don't know if it'll be an album but four or five songs will make really good records.'

EXCLUSIVE - Drowned Madonna can reveal that during her latest trip to New York, Madonna had a meeting and a dinner with Warner. Guy Oseary and Angela Becker were there.

They discussed possible release options for her new album - whether there will be a release this year or next year. Madonna would like to release her new album this year, alongside October-November, because she would like to tour next year.

Anyway, there is not a DEFINITIVE release date as of yet.

We also have been told that there are already 8 songs in the mixing studio and there will be an exclusive listening within the next months - 3 songs - to only Warner executives.

Furthermore, Madonna does NOT include "Hey You" in the tracklist for now, but they are discussing wheter adding it as a bonus track or not. Anyway, the new album will be very different from "Hey You".

We are happy to report for the first time online (meaning that this info is not available anywhere online as we speak) that the song is titled "Sing My Sister" and that it can be described as an uptempo ballad.

Madonna was the natural choice to take a part to this song as it opens with the voice of an African woman calling for an implementation of the hiv mother to child transmission prevention programme in South African hospitals.

Annie starts the song saying "Sing My Sister Sing" on a piano loop and then Madonna comes in after a couple of minutes for what can be called more as a "special appearance" than a real duet song. Her part (basically the bridge of the song) is reminiscent of similar appearances in "Sidewalk Talk" or "Get Over"

The song is an hymn to the women of the world reminding them that "woman kind" is strong and they have to let their voices be heard.

We have also been told the song, (lasting a bit more than four and a half minutes), ends in fade with an "African Chant", something similar to "Lion King" songs.

Yesterday's rehearsals featured "La Isla Bonita" like we never heard before.
It maybe started like the Confessions Tour version at first but then it turned into a gypsy music with some serious Russian flavors.
The weirdest thing ever, and very exciting!

Apparently stylists at Vivian Westwod's are in a mad rush working on a sort of bustier that Madonna might wear this Saturday at Live Earth... "It's gold sequence", our reader says, adding that "they're sending about five other things to her as well".

In the Westwood atelier there is apparently also what's described as a "silver dress" that they're working on for Madonna.

We don't know if Madonna will actually wear these clothes by this sounds interesting, especially after our previous exclusive report about the new reworked CT version of La Isla Bonita that can be described as "Russian flavoured"

Madonna is pondering hanging up on Warner Music Group in favor of life without a traditional record contract.

With the Material Girl's existing pact with Warner Music Group's Warner Bros. Records winding down, her camp is considering an all-encompassing music deal with touring giant Live Nation that could be worth more than $100 million.

An agreement, if struck, would create an entity that would manage all Madonna-related businesses, including albums, touring, merchandise and sponsorships over a multi-year period. Live Nation would acquire an equity stake in the pop diva's overall business.

The joint venture company would then look to enter into an agreement with a label to handle distribution and marketing support of any Madonna album releases.

Madonna is currently in London working with A-list names like Justin Timberlake, Pharrell, and Timbaland on the follow-up to 2005's "Confessions on a Dancefloor." It's the last studio album due under her existing pact with Warner and is tentatively scheduled for release later this year.

Warner Bros. Records Chairman and CEO Tom Whalley, Madonna spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg and Live Nation all declined to comment.

Privately, insiders regard the Live Nation talk as the opening salvo in what figures to be an extended re-negotiation of her deal, which was last extended in 2000.

Sources say her camp has also been shopping to other labels the joint venture concept, which follows in the vein of deals inked by EMI with Korn and Robbie Williams.

"Confessions" - a commercial and critical comeback from 2003's disappointing "American Life," was Madonna's first album with the existing Warner management team of WMG CEO Edgar Bronfman Jr., U.S. Recorded Music CEO Lyor Cohen and Whalley.

It has sold over 1.6 million copies in the U.S. and spawned a successful world tour that ranked as the top grossing series ever for a female artist. The 60-date tour generated over $193 million in reported revenues.

WMG's stock hit a new 52-week low Friday, slidding 4.8 percent, or 65 cents, to $12.76. Live Nation closed down 3.4 percent, or 71 cents, Friday to $20.14.

NEW YORK — Timbaland is finally back in the States after touring overseas with Justin Timberlake, and yes — his trip was productive. Not only did the duo shoot a video with 50 Cent, but they also worked with a cultural icon.

"We just did Madonna's record," Timbo said, sitting in the "TRL" green room. He was part of the cavalcade of stars — including Kanye West, Common, Rihanna and Robin Thicke — who came out for the VMA press conference on Tuesday. "Me and Justin did the records" for the album, he continued, saying Madonna is almost done with the effort.

"She's great. ... She's got a hot album. Her album is up there with Justin's album."

Tim says he and Justin wrote and produced 10 songs for Madge's LP, many of which will make the club jump.

"Ah, man," Tim gushed. "There's this one song, we taking it back to 'You must be my luck-eee starrrr!' ... Remember 'Ugly' by Bubba Sparxxx? I got a beat similar to that. The hook is no words. It's saying stuff named after coffee — all these different names for coffee — is the hook. ... The name of the song is 'La, La.' Pharrell did a hot one for her too called 'Candy Shop.' She's off the chain."

The production legend said there isn't a title for the opus yet, but he will be reconvening with the singer in September to finish it up.

Pressed, Timberlake says some of the Madonna tracks have grooves that sound like her first album, but with more advanced lyrics.

"It kind of meets in the middle between what she does and what I do. It's exactly how you want to hear Madonna right now. It doesn't sound quite like anything she's done yet it still sounds like Madonna."
