is the name of guitarist and songwriter Øystein Greni's rock trio. They started out in 1992, in Oslo, the capital of Norway. Greni and his school buddies — Erik Tresselt on bass and drummer Christer Engen — were in the original lineup of the band. They played rock & roll with its roots in the late '60s and early '70s. The most evident influences being Cream, Curtis Mayfield, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, and Neil Young. At the very beginning, they were already acknowledged as a fantastic live band. The tight rhythm section allowing frontman Greni, an extrovert and charismatic performer, to shine, both as a guitarist and a singer keeping a great dialogue with his audience.
In 1995, they released an album, Waxed, on their own label, without making much of an impact. Still, they continued playing together and writing new material. In 1997 Øystein Greni was close to calling it a day, when childhood friend and drummer Christer Engen decided to leave and join the more famous punk rock band Turbonegro. made quite an impact, all of a sudden becoming the new hope of Norwegian rock. At the point they landed a record-deal with Warner, in the winter of 1999, they had already recorded their second album, Electric Psalmbook. The album's excellent reviews and their enigmatic live performances helped them become stars and best-sellers in Norway, but it wasn't until their massive hit single Girl in Oslo that they really shot into fame.
