Kreeg de vraag van een lekker chickie of ik wat Emo voor haar kan regelen.
Tuurlijk kan ik dat, maar ik weet niet helemaal wat dat is. Wel in de rockmuziek [met gitaren enzo ].

BoySetsFire is goeie emo. De enige band in dat genre dat ik echt goed vind.
Verder heb je Thrice, Alkaline Trio. Dan heb je de meer poppunk-achtige emo zoals Jimmy Eat World, Taking Back Sunday en The Get Up Kids. De laatste cd van AFI (Sing The Sorrow) kun je ook emo noemen.
Coheed & Cambria zou goeie emo zijn geweest als de zanger niet zo'n irritante stem had.
Thursday mag ook niet ontbreken. Face Tomorrow is nog een Nederlandse emo band, en dan heb je At-The-Drive-In en dat is een wat oudere band, maar dat wordt ook vaak emo genoemd.
Bekendere bands als Hoobastank en Lost Phropets hebben ook wel wat emo in zich.
Maar je hebt hele verschillende emo he. Soms is het echt van die softe jank muziek, soms is het echt geschreeuw. Het is over het algemeen niet echt vrolijke muziek.

Hmmm de meesten heb ik wel van gehoord. Thrice heeft mijn broertje wel en Jimmy Eat World heb ik zelf wel, best wel leuke cd's.
Las net ergens, die gast noemde Killswitch Engage en de eerste cd van Drowning Pool, Sinner ook een emo cd.... Vind dat echt geen emo.

Ikzelf maak altijd onderscheid tussen tiener-emo (Taking Back Sunday, My Chemical Romance - om maar eens wat te noemen) en gitaarmuziek die toevallig het etiket emo opgeplakt heeft gekregen : bijv Death Cab for Cutie, Dashboard Confessional. Persoonlijk vind ik dat de siund van Death Cab zijn oorsprong vindt in de eighties, luister maar eens naar de Smiths: cleane zang, cleane gitaartjes, veel melodie en destructieve teksten (waar de tiener-emo hun handelsmerk van heeft gemaakt).
Dacht altijd dat Death Cab For Cutie indie was. Maarja waar het ook inpast, het blijft wel erg goeie muziek.

De 'emo'band die door de jaren heen het meest constant goede albums uitbracht is naar mijn mening Samiam. Erg rocky, erg lekker.

de emo lifestyle/muziek is kut, de muziek kan wel leuk zijn als je niet te veel naar de teksten luistert
ik woon nu in amerika en er zijn hier er echt te veel mensen die helemaal into emo zijn en die deprimerende houding van ze is ook niet echt geweldig. ik vind die stroming maar niks, die slappe zielige zijtak van punkrock.

En er zit af en toe wel degelijk zo'n jankerige toon in de nummers ook al ondersteunen ze een sci-fi verhaal.

Ik vind het maar gezeik dat emo altijd gepaard gaat met 'check-mij-eens-zielig-en-suicidaal-zijn'-teksten. Bij vele aandachttrekkerige emo-pop (als my chemical romance) is dat inderdaad zo maar bij de wat minder poppy ingestelde bands is dit stukken minder of totaal niet aanwezig.

Ik vind die emo kapsel meestal wel uber. Alhoewel ik bij sommige ook uitroep. hoe gay.
