The negative effects of camera shake are greatly amplified in close-up photography and can affect image sharpness greatly. The incorporation of Nikon VR technology in a Micro-Nikkor lens for the first time expands versatility by providing the benefits of VR-assisted sharpness and improving hand-held close-up photography. In addition, the VRII offers a stable viewfinder image for easy frame composition even at high magnification shooting.

The AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED also features proven Nikon optical technologies such as the Nano Crystal Coat, which drastically reduces flare, and one ED glass element that minimises chromatic aberration to provide higher resolution and high-contrast images.

Het eerste macro-objectief met VR-systeem ter wereld

TOKIO - Nikon Corporation introduceert de AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED, het eerste macro-objectief ter wereld dat is uitgerust met een Nikon Silent Wave Motor (SWM) en Vibratiereductiesysteem (VR).

In het nieuwe objectief is gebruik gemaakt van Nikon’s meest geavanceerde optische kenmerken en technologieėn, zoals Nano Crystal Coat, Extra Low Dispersion (ED) glas en Interne scherpstelling (IF). De AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED is ontwikkeld voor gebruik met zowel Nikon DX-formaat digitale reflexcamera’s als kleinbeeldreflexcamera’s.

Het objectief is speciaal ontwikkeld om tegemoet te komen aan de vraag van gebruikers naar een 105 mm macro-objectief met een Silent Wave Motor (SWM), interne scherpstelling en vibratiereductie.

De SWM zorgt voor snelle en stille automatische scherpstelling, en biedt de mogelijkheid snel te wisselen tussen autofocus en handmatige scherpstelling. Dankzij het IF-systeem draait het voorste lensdeel niet mee, wat handig is voor het gebruik van circulaire polarisatiefilters.

Met het verbeterde VR-systeem (VR II) kunnen fotografen opnamen maken met 4 stops* langere sluitertijden [van bijna oneindig tot 3 m (1/30 x vergrotingsmaatstaf)] dan anders mogelijk zou zijn. Normaal worden de negatieve effecten van cameratrilling bij close-up-opnamen versterkt; ze kunnen de scherpte zeer nadelig beļnvloeden. Door de VR-technologie in een Micro-Nikkor objectief in te bouwen (wereldprimeur) vergroot Nikon de veelzijdigheid van dit objectieftype; VR verkleint de kans op onscherpe opnamen aanzienlijk en vergroot de mogelijkheden om uit de hand te fotograferen. Bovendien biedt de VR II een stabiel zoekerbeeld voor comfortabele compositiebepaling, ook bij opnamen met een hoge vergrotingsmaatstaf.

De AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED biedt verder beproefde Nikon technologieėn, zoals Nano Crystal Coat, dat overstraling sterk vermindert, en een glaselement uit ED-glas, dat chromatische aberratie vermindert, voor beelden met een hoog scheidend vermogen en contrast.

Technologies Explained

EF-S lens mount

The compact APS-C size sensor of select EOS cameras such as the EOS 30D, EOS 20D, EOS 350D and EOS 300D has paved the way for a range of relatively compact and lightweight EF-S mount lenses. These lenses project a smaller image circle than would otherwise be necessary to cover a full frame sensor or a frame of 35mm film. The ‘S’ in the EF‑S nomenclature stands for the term ‘short back focus’. This describes the system that allows for both a smaller image circle and positioning of the rear lens element closer than normal to the camera’s sensor.

Cameras with an EF-S lens mount can accept both EF lenses and EF-S lenses, while EF-S lenses can only fit to cameras with an EF-S lens mount. A white lens mount index differentiates the lens from other EF lenses, which retain their traditional red marking. A rear rubber ring prevents any damage in the event that an inadvertent attempt is made to mount an EF-S lens to a camera with an EF mount.

Image Stabilizer

IS works by using gyro sensors and circuitry to detect and measure unwanted vibrations. Tiny servo motors then create corresponding movement of a correcting lens group perpendicular to the optical axis. This alters the light path, returning the image to its correct position on the sensor or film plane. Unwanted movement is corrected fast enough to suppress effectively the vibrations of moving vehicles and aircraft such as helicopters.
