Andy, James and the Bryan Brothers will fight for a spot in the 2007 Davis Cup Finals in Gothenburg Sweden. Team USA will take on the enthusiastic Swedes who will be looking to upset the Americans on their chosen surface of Carpet. These two nations have an extensive Davis Cup history dating back to 1946, and meet for the 12th time this weekend. This is their fourth semifinal meeting, but they have also gone head-to-head in two Davis Cup finals, in 1984 and 1997, both of which Sweden won. USA has an 8-3 record over the Swedes and also won their last meeting at the 2004 World Group quarterfinals.
Andy has cited wining Davis Cup as one of his dreams and ultimate career goals.
