The surprising appraisal from the boy, now 15, came during a January 19, 2004 interview with Santa Barbara Sheriff's Department officials, The Smoking Gun has learned.

At the interview's conclusion, a detective asked the child about conversations he had with Jackson about girls and any related guidance offered by the performer. The boy, who was 13 at the time of the alleged molestation, replied that Jackson would "always, like, try to give me" advice about "the birds and the bees."

However, the boy told investigators, "He didn't know much. I knew more than he did."

The Q&A session, which was audiotaped, came about two months prior to the child's initial appearance before the grand jury that later voted to indict Jackson on ten felony counts. During his testimony, the boy occasionally appeared flippant while discussing the alleged sexual assaults and Jackson's provision of wine and assorted booze to him and his two siblings.

When District Attorney Tom Sneddon asked if he had ceased drinking alcohol after leaving Neverland Ranch for the last time, the boy responded, "That period of my life, I went to AA. That period of my life is over." To "make sure the record is clear," Sneddon asked the boy whether he was kidding about attending Alcoholics Anonymous. "I'm just joking," replied the accuser.

At another point during his testimony, the boy was asked to describe the alleged molestation incidents in Jackson's bedroom, which he did in graphic detail. The boy, who has been enrolled for years in a Navy sea cadets program, was then asked by Sneddon if anyone else had been present during the assaults. "No," the child answered, adding, "Not unless a Navy SEAL dropped down."

At the close of his first day of testimony, the boy received Sneddon's standard witness admonition that a judicial gag order barred him from talking to the media about his confidential testimony. "Oh man," the child replied, "I was going to have a press conference."

The grand jury transcript, which TSG exclusively obtained earlier this month, also reveals that sheriff's detectives interviewed a young friend of Jackson's during the November 2003 raid of his California estate.

The performer befriended the teenager, Omer Bhatti, in 1996 during a Tunisian stop on the singer's HIStory tour (the child, then a 12-year-old Jackson imitator, was apparently spotted in front of Jackson's hotel).

Investigator Jeffrey Ellis testified that when he "broached the subject of pornography," Bhatti became nervous and "seemed to have trouble forming a sentence. It was almost like a stutter." Ellis added that when he asked Bhatti a series of questions about the consumption of wine and alcohol and references to "Jesus Juice," he saw "that same type of uneasiness in him that I noticed when I started talking to him about pornography."

While prosecutors apparently sensed Bhatti had a story to tell, the Jackson crony appears only on the defense's list of prospective witnesses.

Ik heb liever dat de jury dat vindt.

Uiteraard, het gaat om de jury maar het is fijn als de media wat meer op de hand van Michael Jackson is. Het publiek is altijd zo beinvloedbaar dus iets positief mag wel.

Ik ben een tijdje in het buitenland geweest en er werd slechts sporadisch over de zaak geschreven. De jury-selectie vond ik bizar, vooral hoe snel het ging.
In boeken van John Grisham wordt er altijd enorm veel tijd gestoken in de selectie van de jury. Ik ben benieuwd.

Drie redenen waarom ik denk dat Jackson NOT guilty is:

1. Ik geloof er niks van dat hij met z'n gebleekte snikkel in of aan een kind heeft gezeten.
2. Het in bed liggen met iemand wil niet zeggen dat je er dus ook sex mee hebt. Dat wij met "naar bed gaan met iemand" neuken bedoelen zegt meer over ons.
3. De moeder van die jongen die misbruikt zou zijn schijnt al meerdere zedenaanklachten achter de rug te hebben. Zo klaagde ze 2 supermarktbeveiligingsbeambten aan waarvoor ze $100.000 dollar ontving. Van dit geld liet ze haar borsten vergroten. Nuff said.

Oh, trouwens, Michael Jackson is een muzikaal genie.

Star plans return to recoup legal costs of up to £50m as jury gets glimopse of his private Neverland


BY 5am each day, long before the sun rises over his fairytale home Neverland, Michael Jackson has finished his daily dance workout and settled down to choose armbands and trinkets for the day ahead in court.

He pores over 100 secondhand medals, ranging from the Order of Vienna to a chunky golden orb minted by a former king of Swaziland. He tells the staff who help him to dress that the medals “make me strong for the battle to come”.

As an aide makes sure the beleaguered 46-year-old pop star’s tie is perfectly knotted, Jackson is already speaking on his gem-encrusted mobile phone. The first call is often to a New York-based music mogul, Charles Koppelman, with whom Jackson is planning a world tour — provisionally entitled Celebration — to start a few months after the acquittal he prays for on child sex charges.

Business associates say he is buoyed by the belief that music will provide his pathway to redemption in the public eye. His last album, Invincible, sold 8m copies but failed to recoup the costs to his record label, Sony. Jackson is nevertheless determined to stage a lucrative blockbuster tour. He wants to exceed the record £60m his former musical partner Sir Paul McCartney grossed from touring America in 2002.

If Jackson stays out of jail, he will need the money, particularly if he returns to the spendthrift ways portrayed in Martin Bashir’s Granada documentary Living with Michael Jackson, which was broadcast in February 2003 and led to the trial that began last week.

Forbes magazine estimates that over his 40-year career the former child star has earned $500m (£260m). Other magazines have estimated his wealth at between £75m and £150m, including £10m in record royalties last year. However, he is also paying off a £105m loan from Sony, secured against the Beatles’ back catalogue, in which he owns a half share.

US lawyers estimate that the trial could cost him up to £50m. Larry Feldman, who once represented Jordan Chandler — a boy who was paid $15.3m in 1993 not to press abuse charges — said the cost of employing up to 100 legal advisers over the past two years and through a possible appeal next year could reach £40m.

“You have to think of Michael as a corporation fighting for survival,” he said.

On top of that there are extra security teams, including private detectives, and public relations advisers such as Ann Kite, his former consultant, who said in court last week that she was paid £12,000 a month.

Mounting concern about Jackson’s finances has prompted alleged creditors, from Sotheby’s to local suppliers, to start legal action against him.

Koppelman, meanwhile, is working in the background to disentangle his finances and vet offers on the long-mooted sale of the 3,000-acre Neverland estate.

Jurors in the nearby Santa Maria courthouse sat open-mouthed as they watched a 12-minute film shot by police during a raid on the property. It showed Jackson’s bedroom stuffed with toys, dolls and mannequins. “It is difficult to imagine a normal, healthy 46-year-old-man living there,” said one television commentator.

This is the heart of the prosecution case presented by Thomas Sneddon, the 62-year-old district attorney for Santa Barbara county.

Sneddon, a former Vietnam veteran whose tenacity has earned him the nickname of the Bulldog, is a man with a mission: to jail the star he depicts as a monstrous predator. He first investigated Jackson in 1993, when he received reports of abuse from Chandler’s family, and was furious when the singer used his fortune to avert a comprehensive police investigation.

Sneddon kept seeking witnesses to the abuse — earning condemnation from Jackson as a “cold, cold man” in a 1997 song, DS, which ends with the sound of a bullet. Police, worried about deranged fans, have stepped up security at Sneddon’s home.

- hij zei dat het Barely legal tijdschrift dat de DA ophield HET tijdschrift was dat Jackson hem had laten zien. Dat tijdschrift was echter van augustus 2003: 6 maanden nadat ze de ranch hadden verlaten

- hij verklaarde dat Jackson een alarm op/bij zijn slaapkamer had om te waarschuwen dat er iemand aan kwam. Dit alarm was afgegaan, maar "Jackson kon het niet horen want zijn slaapkamerdeur was dicht".
Aha: een alarm om te waarschuwen als je ligt te slapen, maar dat je niet kunt horen
