The Daugavpils Regional Hospital in Latvia has terminated the employment of 49 staff members holding Russian and Belarusian citizenship, the hospital’s press office said.
The hospital clarified that the dismissals were carried out in compliance with Latvia’s National Security Law, which prohibits citizens of Belarus and Russia from working at critical infrastructure facilities, per Caliber.Az.
“Daugavpils Regional Hospital is a critical infrastructure facility, and the institution is obliged to comply with national security regulations. In light of these restrictions, employment contracts with 49 staff members were terminated,” the statement said.
Among those dismissed were 29 mid-level and junior medical staff, including 11 who were of retirement age, and 20 support staff, including three retirees.
The hospital stated that it is taking measures to ensure continued operations and uninterrupted medical care for patients following the dismissals. Vacancies will also be posted to replace the employees who were let go.

Hier zal Nederland dan wel krachtig op gaan reageren want "wij" zijn in de volle overtuiging dat loyaliteit helemaal niks met je paspoort of paspoorten te maken heeft
Ergens lullig voor de Russen die totaal anti-Poetin zijn. Die zijn er namelijk ook. Maar wel begrijpelijk, vooral als je je realiseert dat de meeste Russen toch wel pro-Poetin regime zijn en zijn propaganda als zoete koek vreten, zelfs de Russen die in het westen wonen.
