The two soldiers were wounded but survived, and were taken prisoner and brought to Kyiv for questioning.

quote:"They're the best and most precise ones, in my opinion," says the Ukrainian artilleryman Bohdan Nahaj. He's talking about the Panzerhaubitze 2000 (PZH 2000), the German self-propelled armored howitzers supplied to his brigade, which are helping Ukraine in its fight against Russia's war of aggression. But the division commander admits that there's a problem: The howitzers are used so intensively that they tend to break down.
The most common issues are software failures, and overheating of the control systems and gun barrels. Nahaj tells DW that, at times, as many as two-thirds of the German howitzers may be out of action as a result. Even repairs that Ukrainian technicians would be able to carry out in situ, such as replacing barrels, are delayed because they don't have the parts. "How long it takes to repair depends on the replacement parts: between two and six months," says Nahaj.
Joint ventures and representative offices
German politicians are well aware of the problem with repairs. In September, Marcus Faber, the FDP politician who chairs the German Bundestag's defense committee, told Bild newspaper: "It's absurd that more weapons systems are currently out of use because of a lack of spare parts than as a result of enemy fire."
The problem has not yet been solved, but there have at least been some improvements. For example, the Franco-German armaments group KNDS, which manufactures the howitzers, opened a subsidiary and an office in Kyiv at the beginning of October. This will improve coordination with Ukrainian authorities and workshops.[..]

https://www.kyivpost.com/post/43566quote:Jake Sullivan, outgoing US National Security Advisor, in comments made public on Sunday claimed the main reason the Ukrainian Air Force has so few US-made F-16 fighter in combat operations, is that the Ukrainian military doesn’t have enough pilots for training on the fighter aircraft.
Sullivan’s statement made during an interview with the Reagan National Defense Forum sharply contrasted with comment by Ukrainian officials, among them President Volodymyr Zelensky, that Ukraine had dozens of seasoned combat pilots ready to receive cross-training in the American fighter, but only a few of them are able to be trained at a time, because almost all US Air Force F-16 fighter transition training slots are filled.
