Welkom in het Nintendo Switch-topic op FOK! Wat is Nintendo Switch?
Nintendo Switch is de nieuwste console van Nintendo en de opvolger van WiiU. De basis van Switch is een tablet-achtig apparaat die je thuis in een docking station zet maar net zo gemakkelijk mee neemt op reis. In de preview trailer wordt het hele concept in iets meer dan drie minuten uitgelegd en beter kunnen wij het ook niet uitleggen.
Tof! Wanneer kan ik ermee spelen?
Sinds 3 maart 2017 is de Switch, die regiovrij is, wereldwijd te koop. In Nederland ligt de prijs op zo'n 329 euro en voor dat geld krijg je de Switch, twee Joycon-controllers, een Joycon Grip, een docking station (met adapter) en een HDMI-kabel. Er wordt geen game meegeleverd tenzij het een speciale bundel betreft (de prijs ligt dan uiteraard wat hoger).
Switch 2019-model
Sinds de zomer van 2019 is er een nieuwe versie van de Nintendo Switch verschenen. Deze heeft vooral een langere batterijduur in handheldmode, zo'n vijf uur tegenover drie van het launch model. De 2019-versie gaat momenteel voor 329 euro en het oude model (mits nog voorradig) is dan vaak een paar tientjes goedkoper.
Switch Lite
Op 20 september 2019 verscheen de Switch Lite. Dit is een handheld only variant; zonder losse Joycon en zonder mogelijkheid om op de tv te spelen. De prijs ligt dan ook zo'n 100 euro lager. De Switch Lite is er in meerdere kleuren.
Switch OLED
Op 8 oktober 2021 verschijnt een vernieuwde Switch met OLED scherm. Het scherm is ietsje groter, maar qua hardware is het dezelfde console. Verkoopprijs is zo'n 349/359 euro. Er zijn twee kleuren: wit en rood/blauw.

Wij waren deze zomer in Super World in Los Angeles. Ik vond het erg klein maar wel geweldig gemaakt. Mijn kinderen vonden vooral het verzamelen van muntjes heel leuk. Alleen je score van Mario Kart op je armband zetten werkte erg slecht, dat is beide keren niet gelukt, terwijl ik vlak bij de highscore van de dag zat (om 11 uur ‘s ochtends wel…). En in LA hebben ze ook alleen Mario kart als attractie, niet Yoshi of Donkey Kong. Voor 2026 staat Osaka op de planning.quote:

In Los Angeles kun je voor $15 pp early access kopen, dan kun je een uur eerder naar binnen en is het redelijk rustig. Bijkomend voordeel is dat als je na dat uur de rest van het park in gaat de rest nog erg rustig is omdat iedereen eerst naar Super World gaat. Ik verwacht dat ze straks in Universal UK ook Super World gaan bouwen, en tegen die tijd is het nieuwe van die wereld er wel af, dus zal de drukte waarschijnlijk meer gespreid worden over het hele park. Al is Super World wel een deel waar je je kan blijven vermaken.

Maar inderdaad
Kan mij niet voorstellen dat de oude cartridges niet zullen werken op de nieuwe Switch. In ieder geval de eerste editie (a la Wii met Gamecube).
Waar ik mij meer zorgen om maak is het backwards compatible zijn van de pro controllers (Ik heb 5 van die dingen waaronder een aantal special editions). Nou is het wel zo dat ni ntendo net die officieele oplaad stand voor de joycons heeft uitgebracht wat waarschijnlijk doelt op het feit dat de oude joycons niet meer aan de zijkanten van de nieuwe Switch opgeladen kunnen worden maar wel nog zullen werken op de nieuwe Switch.

This person sent me the evidence that they apparently can not share openly yet. The reason they gave is that it somehow could have their identity traced to them (at least that's how I understood it). I don't know how they plan on having their identity not be traced back to them when they send it after December 25th, but I did not ask them that.

Een sterkere Switch met een 2 erachter en verder niks, klinkt echt als het huidige Nintendo. Beter voor nu denk ik. Het merk Switch is zo ingeburgerd.

Ik hoop wel met die switch 2 dat ze een normale dpad gebruiken bij de pro en de joycons zijn ze allebei niet zo best, terwijl nintendo uitvinder is van de dpad

Dragon Quest 3 uitgespeeld. Hoewel het qua genre en looks helemaal mijn game is, raad ik 'm niet echt aan. Gameplay is wel echt te oldskool eigenlijk en het sleept te lang door. Ondanks dat ik met 32 uur klaar was voelde dat drie keer zo lang.
