→ the fighters of the brigade were gathered in the yard of the house to be awarded, "all camouflage protocols" were ignored, more than 10 vehicles were parked nearby;

→ at that time there was a Russian reconnaissance drone in the sky, which was recorded;

→ an air raid alert was declared throughout the region, the military was warned about the sector in which the Russian drone was operating;

→ as soon as a missile launch was detected, the "missile danger" signal was broadcast;

→ "no centralized security measures" were taken at the place of awarding.

The investigation in this case continues, in particular, it is conducted by the State Bureau of Investigation, Umerov said.

"All those who are guilty of this tragedy will be punished according to the law," he said.

The Minister of Defense instructed the General Staff of the Armed Forces to check the implementation of security protocols in units.

"I appeal to all commanders who are responsible for the safety of soldiers: contempt for basic security measures is unacceptable," he concluded.

Germany's Rheinmetall to provide Ukraine with 25 Leopard 1 tanks
German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall will supply Ukraine with 25 main battle tanks Leopard 1A5 as part of an order financed by the German government, the company announced on Nov. 14.

The order consists of a total of 32 Leopard 1 systems, including, apart from the Leopard tanks, five Bergepanzer 2 armored recovery vehicles, and two driver training tanks.

Rheinmetall will also reportedly provide Ukraine with training, logistics, spare parts, maintenance, and other support services as part of the contract.

The Leopard tanks, due to be delivered in 2024, are currently being repaired and readied for use at Rheinmetall facilities, reads the announcement.

The company wrote that it would also send Ukraine 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks next year on behalf of the Dutch and Danish governments and five Caracal airmobile-capable vehicles in late 2023-early 2024.

The German government announced on Nov. 13 that it had delivered over 10 Leopard 1 A5 tanks, among other defense assistance, in its latest aid package to Ukraine.

The new deliveries brought the total number of Leopard 1 tanks Ukraine has received from the German government to 30.

Germany is the world's second-biggest provider of military aid to Ukraine after the United States.

One man who lost his left arm in the war returned home and waited patiently for months for his new prosthetic arm promised by the Defense Ministry—but when the day finally came, all he got was a metal rod.

“It’s just a metal stick with a plastic tip!” 48-year-old Vadim Sharipov vented to Radio Free Europe’s Siberian service. “Why should I be happy with a stick instead of a prosthesis?! At first they stalled, then they refused to admit that it was shoddy work, and as time goes on, the muscles will atrophy and then no prosthesis will be needed,” he said, adding that he is now suing in a bid to get a better prosthetic.

“I told my daughter that a shark bit my arm off when I was swimming in the sea,” Sharipov said in a separate interview with Veter.

The independent media outlet Verstka reported last month that the number of disabled men under the age of 30 in Russia grew by 17,000 in 2022, and authorities planned for a nine-year record of newly disabled men in 2023. The Defense Ministry declared on state-run television late last year that all soldiers who suffer amputations or lost limbs in the war will get the “best” prosthetics.

But authorities now seem unable to keep up with the demand.

While some members of the notorious Wagner Group managed to get fitted out with imported prosthetics in a Wagner-run facility in Anapa earlier on in the war, according to the BBC, some Wagner fighters say they’ve been hung out to dry after the death of mercenary boss Yevgeny Prigozhin.

“I went from prison to fight for you, for your country, which provided nothing for me and still provides nothing. I’m seriously wounded. I’m missing one eye, and the other has been operated on,” a shirtless man identified as a Wagner fighter from the Krasnodar region says to Vladimir Putin in a recent video appeal, complaining that he hasn’t been paid his pension and can’t get a job despite receiving a pardon.

“We defended our country and atoned for our sins. Although we’re convicts, we’re not convicts! We are the most just people. We’ll prove to anyone—even you, bald man—that we are respect and Wagner is power!”

Bellingcat investigators came to these conclusions.

This is based on the analysis of satellite images for the period between late October and early November.

The investigation reports that the elements of the S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems have been moved from at least two Russian air defense sites.

This regards several battalions. The exact site of their relocation remains uncertain. Nevertheless, observers suggested that these air defense systems were delivered to Rostov-on-Don.

Journalists discovered that the movement of weapons coincided with the increase in flights of Russian An-124 and Il-76 military transport aircraft from Kaliningrad over the Baltic Sea towards the mainland of the aggressor country.

Moreover, while flying over the territory of the Russian Federation, the pilots turned off transponders that allowed tracking the aircraft’s route and landing site.

Elements of Russian air defense systems were redeployed in late October and early November.

After analyzing satellite images, Bellingcat discovered that at least some parts of the S-400 air defense system were moved from the air defense site near the town of Gvardeysk.

It is also assumed that some components of the air defense systems may have been moved from the site west of Kaliningrad near Primorskaya Bay.

However, it is not yet possible to accurately verify this information due to the poor quality of satellite images, which is related to the weather conditions during the period in question.

The relocation of Russian air defense systems closer to the border with Ukraine is likely indicating that the Russians are trying to compensate for the losses of their air defense system from repeated Ukrainian strikes on the temporarily occupied territory.
