https://www.audible.co.uk(...)YWE82TV5FRQHGS6306N1quote:Breaking Justice is a narrative documentary series that covers an unfolding current criminal case that has exploded into the public consciousness.
Sports journalist Jenn Brown and former federal prosecutor Francey Hakes host the series and guide the listener through the complicated criminal cases of two men whose stories interlock. Harry Goularte, Jr., was accused of sexually abusing the four-year-old son of former MMA World Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez over a period of months at a day care in San Jose, California owned by Goularte’s mother.
Goularte was arrested but let out on bond almost immediately, with no notice to the Velasquez family. Cain Velasquez found out Goularte was released and pursued Goularte by car in what appears to be an act of vigilante justice. He shot at the vehicle Goularte was in and forced it off the road.
Goularte’s stepfather was the only wounded, and Velasquez was arrested. But unlike Goularte, Velasquez was denied bond.
Jenn and Francey cover these two cases as they unfold, with inside access to Velasquez (in an interview from his jail cell), his family, and his closest friends, who walk us through the events that led up to his shocking vigilante-style attack.
Jenn and Francey also get experts’ perspectives on brain injuries, vigilantism, and California justice, and even record the first-hand perspective of an abuse survivor whose father killed the abuser on live television.

quote:Harry Goularte is free to change his California residence – and had another major change to his court-ordered bail requirements, a judge ruled Friday.
Goularte, who is accused of child molestation and who was the target of an alleged shooting by former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez, can change his residence to a different county. He also will be allowed to be around minors during the holiday season – provided the minors are family members, and provided other adults are present.
Goularte previously was not permitted to be around any minors, period, as one of the terms of his bail following a court agreement earlier this year. He remains out on bail under court supervision and GPS monitoring in Santa Clara (Calif.) County, and has been allowed to work a construction job while awaiting trial.
His representative said the court’s pre-trial services department is aware of Goularte’s upcoming plan for a change of residence and no issues were present for Goularte to continue to be supervised. His new address will remain sealed and confidential.
A judge Friday agreed to modified terms of his bail to allow the move and for him to be in family settings with minors present during the holidays.
Goularte pleaded not guilty this past June to one criminal charge of lewd acts with a minor, alleged to be Velasquez’s son, then 4. He has a pre-trial hearing set for Jan. 17.
If found guilty, Harry Goularte could face up to eight years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
Velasquez currently is out on $1 million bail. He faces a handful of charges, including attempted murder, after he allegedly followed and shot at Goularte in a high-speed car chase and struck Goularte’s stepfather, Paul Bender, with a bullet.
Velasquez, not long after being granted bail after months in jail and multiple attempts by his legal team for him to be released, was allowed to go to Arizona to perform in a Lucha Libre wrestling match. He was due to travel Thursday for the Saturday event and is scheduled to return to California on Sunday. He has a pre-trial hearing set for Dec. 28.

James Krause en zijn vechters gebanned door de UFC
https://www.eurosport.nl/(...)o9256094/story.shtml
quote:Following the fight involving Darrick Minner on November 5, 2022, UFC was informed by sources that suspicious betting patterns had been observed on the fight. In the weeks following the fight, UFC has been cooperating with multiple ongoing government investigations into the facts and circumstances surrounding that contest.
On November 18, the Nevada State Athletic Commission informed UFC and Minner’s coach, James Krause, that Krause’s license was suspended and would remain so while NSAC conducted an investigation into the matter.
UFC has since advised Krause and the respective managers working with impacted fighters, that effective immediately, fighters who choose to continue to be coached by Krause or who continue to train in his gym, will not be permitted to participate in UFC events pending the outcome of the aforementioned government investigations.
Further, UFC has released Darrick Minner from the organization.
Along with the safety and health of its fighters, UFC believes there is no more important component of professional mixed martial arts than the integrity of the sport.
Weeks prior to the Minner fight, the organization sent formal notification to all fighters and members of their teams that they and certain other defined “insiders” were prohibited from wagering on UFC events. This was an extension of UFC’s pre-existing (and since updated) fighter Code of Conduct as well as a recognition of various state, federal, and international laws and regulations expressly prohibiting conduct that threatens the integrity of the sport including, but not limited to, insider betting based on non-public information, fight-fixing, and other such misconduct.
UFC will continue to take all necessary and appropriate steps to ensure compliance with and enforcement of its policies and those of the jurisdictions in which it operates.
