Significant increase' of patients with COVID - as hospital suspends visitors
Dr Chaand Nagpaul, chairman of the council at the British Medical Association, told Sky News: "What's concerning is that we are seeing significant increases in people in hospital.
"In fact, as of yesterday, the number of people admitted and also the number of patients in hospital is at a level as high as during the lockdown earlier this year in spring, in February-March.
"Now that is a significant number and it is increasing, so while the proportion of people who end up in hospital as a result of Omicron is smaller, we are definitely seeing significant increases."
Dr Nagpaul said 25,000 patients were admitted with COVID-19 in the four-week period leading up to Christmas and he said those admissions have been preventing six million people on the NHS waiting list from being treated.
Asked whether those admissions were people taken to hospital because of coronavirus, or for other health reasons and "happened to have COVID", Dr Nagpaul replied: "That's a very good question and, in fact, that's data I don't have and data it is really important is made available, because I absolutely agree, we need to differentiate between the two."

More from Professor Peter Openshaw, who says someone only needs to be exposed to "a whiff of infected breath" to catch the highly transmissible Omicron variant of coronavirus.
"Omicron is so infectious. We're lucky really that it wasn't this infectious when it first moved into human-to-human transmission," he told BBC Breakfast.
"We've had several iterations of this virus going through different stages of its evolution.
"It has ended up being so infectious that it almost needs just a whiff of infected breath and you could get infected."

Zelfde hier. Sterker nog, heb oprecht met tegenzin de afspraak gemaakt. Realiteit is dat ik wel op vakantie wil kunnen het komende jaarquote:

Ik had als vroege twintiger toch echt wel een stuk meer moeite gehad met alle maatregelen dan nu. Ik geloof ook niet dat ik me braaf aan de maatregelen gehouden had en dat had thuis de nodige discussies en strijd opgeleverd.quote:

Denk dat het per persoon verschilt; in welke periode van je leven zulke maatregelen het hardst binnen komen. Ik had het als tiener of twintiger juist minder erg gevonden dan nu ik dertig benquote:

Dit klinkt vrij overtrokken. Meende dat ons RIVM juist zei dat delta en omikron elkaar qua besmettelijkheid niet veel ontlopen. Omikron lijkt besmettelijker maar dat komt waarschijnlijk doordat wij daar minder immuun voor zijn.quote:

Als je dat wilt zou ik nog even wachten met die booster. ik ga niet eerder dan eind april mijn afspraak maken want dan kan ik zeker de meivakantie en zomervakantie gebruik maken van de QR. Kans is zeer aanwezig dat deze booster voor de zomer alweer uitgewerkt isquote:
