A Twitter account claiming to belong to a national “antifa” organization and pushing violent rhetoric related to ongoing protests has been linked to the white nationalist group Identity Evropa, according to a Twitter spokesperson.
The spokesperson said the account violated the company's platform manipulation and spam policy, specifically the creation of fake accounts. Twitter suspended the account after a tweet that incited violence.
As protests were taking place in multiple states across the U.S. Sunday night, the newly created account, @ANTIFA_US, tweeted, “Tonight’s the night, Comrades,” with a brown raised fist emoji and “Tonight we say 'F--- The City' and we move into the residential areas... the white hoods.... and we take what's ours …”
This isn’t the first time Twitter has taken action against fake accounts engaged in hateful conduct linked to Identity Evropa, according to the spokesperson.

Tensions between President Trump, law enforcement and protesters demanding justice for George Floyd reached ominous new heights Monday night when military personnel fired tear gas into a crowd of demonstrators just outside White House grounds.
At about 6:45 p.m. and without warning, law enforcement sent canisters of tear gas and smoke bombs hissing and spinning down the concrete, creating ear-rattling explosions and fireworks that caused panic in the streets and sent the crowd of hundreds stampeding for safety.
The skirmish near the White House, which started at least 15 minutes before a citywide curfew took effect, came as Trump addressed the nation from the Rose Garden, where he promised to dispatch “thousands and thousands of heavily armed soldiers, military personnel and law enforcement officers to stop the rioting, looting vandalism and the wanton destruction of property.”
The high-decibel explosions were audible from the Rose Garden as the president spoke.
Hundreds of protesters flooded the streets around the White House as the clock ticked toward a 7 p.m. curfew that had been announced earlier in the day by Mayor Muriel Bowser (D).
The National Guard had been instructed to clear the area around the White House so that the president could walk across the street to St. John’s church, which had been set on fire by vandals the night before.
The streets around the White House were filled with with scores of police cars, armored vehicles and heavily armed military personnel squaring off with angry protesters, who were concentrated at the corner of 16th Street and H Street along Lafayette Square Park, which faces the White House.
Military personnel in riot gear carried shields and long guns as they guarded the perimeter of the park, standing face to face with jeering demonstrators, who were peaceful but verbally taunting toward law enforcement.

The Arlington County Police Department (ACPD) withdrew its officers from Washington, D.C., Monday night after being “put in a compromising position,” officials said.
The Arlington County Board, Arlington County Manager Mark Schwartz and ACPD Chief Jay Farr directed the county’s officers to leave the city at 8:30 p.m., according to a statement from the county.
“The County is re-evaluating the agreements that allowed our officers to be put in a compromising position that endangered their health and safety, and that of the people around them, for a purpose not worthy of our mutual aid obligations,” the statement reads.
Arlington County Board Chair Libby Garvey tweeted the officers were ordered “to immediately leave” the city.
“Appalled mutual aid agreement abused to endanger their and others safety for a photo op,” she posted.
The county’s decision came after its officers were seen helping U.S. Park Police clear the area in front of the White House with tear gas shortly before President Trump traveled by foot to nearby St. John’s Church. At the church, the president posed for photos with a Bible along with other officials.

In China bij de befaamde tiananmen protesten duurde het toch van van half april tot begin Juni voordat de noodtoestand afkondigt werd en dat plein met grof geweld en dus ook veel slachtoffers leeg geveegd werd.

Maar trump moet dit met zijn MAGA doctrine natuurlijk wel sneller kunnen laten escaleren.
Wordt er allemaal ook niet beter op. Vier agenten neergeschoten in St. Louis. Ergens anders al iemand omgekomen omdat agenten in het wilde weg op een groep begonnen te schieten omdat ze dachten door iemand onder vuur te worden genomen.
En dan nog allerlei beelden van machtsmisbruik van de politie. Van simpelweg de leider van een rustig protest oppakken tot iemand pepperspray in de ogen spuiten en vervolgens van een paar cm afstand een traangasgranaat in het gezicht schieten.
Dit is nog lang niet over.
