Westerse landen zouden imo in de eerste plaats (mogelijk) besmette landgenoten moeten repatriëren, ipv die personen te weigeren. Dan vermijd je dat mensen die mogelijk besmet zijn of zich ziek voelen op eigen houtje trachten terug te keren omdat ze niet in het buitenland in quarantaine willen.

- We got more information in regards of the outbreak. 44000 confirmed cases (paper) from China. Gives us a better range affected, mortality rate. Evidence based, we encourage all countries to share
Decline in new cases. This trend must be interpretad cautiously. Too early too tell if this decline will continue. Every scenario still on table. It's not as deadly as SARS / MERS, more than 80% have mild disease and will recover, in about 14% severe like pneumona, others acute respitory failure, organ failue, sceptic shock, in 2% the virus is fatal. The risk increases the older you are. Little cases among childeren, more research needed to see why.
WHO is continueing to work night and day to prepare countries, sending testing kits around the world. Personal protection being send, working with manufactureres to supply. We are providing advice in terms of screening and treatment. We have a window of oppertunity now, to ensure countries are prepared. We don't know how long this window will stay open.

"WHO works with many people around the world and people can express unlikely scenarios. All of that is important (talking about R0), we dealt with this previously, as we had the same predictions from other scientitsts. Predictions are important, but they are wrong".
- Today some Chinese are asked to donate plasma, the recovered, do you think this is a good option?
"The use of convulescent has been partial to treatment, we have seen it in different cases. Including lifethreathening. ITs a very important area to persue. We will need to look at how it's used and which patient is benefitting most from it. IT concentrates the antibodies, you give people a boost of antibodies to get them through the vital phase. It has to be carefully times and is not always succesful. They're starting trials in China.
"Just to add is that the protocal is important, with blood products you can also transmit other disease. How many patients can get this therapy, it's not easy to produce, all needs to be carefully asseses before using it widely"
- Speakers of any doubts of the testings, total cases where people were multiple times tested negative

Especially when tests are new, there's always a chance of a small positive or false negative, where they're told they have the virus when they don't and when they don't have the virus where they do, that's why clinicial diagnosis is important. We ask countries to share their first 100 tests, we rely on common sense, no test is foolproof.
- There are reports roughly 100 people are infected on the Diamond Princess. I'd like this in French by doctor Briand.

Hoeveel miljoen Chinezen leven ondertussen in een quarantaine gebied? Volgens de youtubes is het ondertussen al 10% van de wereldbevolking voor een mild virusje.

Zijn collega lult vervolgens aan een stuk door zonder iets te zeggen . Vond het echt jammer dat de journalist in kwestie niet wat meer druk uitvoerde . Want zijn zorgen waren in mijn ogen terecht

Maar omdat het RIVM zo twijfelachtig acteert en een ander land een symbolische daad uithaalt, vind je het ineens geweldig. Dat klopt niet.
