Is een samenwerking met SPM, dus in plaats van Calmels Sport en Gommendy. En dus voor meerdere races want MSR heeft een eigen auto en engineers. Carlin Racing maakt zijn debuut in de IndyCars met Max Chilton en Charlie Kimball

Carlin, highly successful on the junior motorsport scene, had been linked to IndyCar since joining the Indy Lights feeder category back in 2015.
Carlin team boss Trevor Carlin stated earlier this year that he was edging closer to an IndyCar entry, feeling that "the timing is perfect" for such a move.
An entry has now been confirmed for Carlin to step up to IndyCar, with Chilton and Kimball in its two cars, which will be powered by Chevrolet engines.
"We're delighted to finally be able to announce our entry into the Verizon IndyCar Series, the result of a long-term ambition of the team," commented Carlin.
"To be joined on that journey in our debut season by brands such as Gallagher and Novo Nordisk, and with drivers we already have a race winning history with in Max and Charlie, is beyond what we could have expected.
"By no means do we underestimate the challenge and competition that lies ahead, but I have great faith in the young and passionate team."
Chilton has spent the past two IndyCar seasons with Chip Ganassi Racing, recording a best result of fourth at this year's Indianapolis 500, having led until the closing stages.
Kimball, meanwhile, has raced in IndyCar since 2011, also with Chip Ganassi, taking his sole series victory to date at Mid-Ohio in 2013.

Voor Nederlandse tijden moet je er 6 uur bij optellen (behalve bij de eerste race. Dan is het 5 uur omdat de VS dan al op zomertijd over is en Nederland nog niet).

Pietro Fittipaldi gaat 7 races rijden voor Dale Coyne, inclusief de Indy 500. Daarnaast zal Zachary Claman de Melo de overige races en waarschijnlijk ook de Indy 500 gaan rijden.
Hiermee komen we op 22 fulltime wagens, met op sommige circuits 23 en 24 wagens (Juncos Racing en Michael Shank Racing). En natuurlijk minimaal 33 voor de Indy 500.

IndyCar heeft gisteren getest met een windscherm om de coureur te beschermen. Scott Dixon reed met het windscherm op zijn auto en verklaarde na afloop geen problemen te hebben met het zicht. Ook IndyCar zelf is positief over deze test.
Het windscherm is gemaakt van 1 cm dikke Opticolor in een hoek van 25 graden.
