The ACO have just issued the following bulletin confirming the four successful applicants for the 2017 P2 chassis licences
After eight months’ work and a two-month selection process, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) and the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), have chosen the four constructors who will supply chassis for the cars that will compete in the Le Mans Prototypes 2 category in ACO- and FIA-governed series and the Prototype class of the IMSA sanctioned TUDOR United SportsCar Championship beginning in 2017, when the category’s new regulations come into force.
The four constructors are: Dallara (Italy-United States), Onroak Automotive (France), Oreca (France-United States) and the joint-venture Riley Tech/Multimatic (USA, Canada and the United Kingdom), subject to validation of the regulations by the World Motor Sport Council on 10th July.

Strakka met eigen LMP1:

The decision of the FIA/ ACO on restricting the number of chassis manufacturers in LMP2 from 2017 has had a first positive effect it seems as Strakka Racing announce this morning that they will develop a new LMP1 car for the team to run in the Privateers’ category of the 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship.
The team will also switch with immediate effect to an ex Greaves Motorsport Gibson 015S LMP2 chassis for the remainder of the 2015 FIA WEC to allow their Dome S103 chassis to be converted as the test and development ‘muletta’ for the LMP1 project.
The new LMP1 car, the first to be designed in-house by the British team, will be built at its recently expanded facilities at Silverstone, to compete in the growing LMP1 Privateers’ category of the championship.
