De Russische president Vladimir Poetin heeft donderdag op de Krim gezegd dat Rusland zijn uiterste best zal doen om het bloedvergieten in Oekrane te stoppen.
Dat heeft het Russische persbureau Interfax gemeld.
''We zullen alles doen wat in onze macht ligt om dit conflict zo snel mogelijk te beindigen'', aldus Poetin in Jalta tijdens zijn bezoek aan de door Rusland geannexeerde Krim.
De Russische leider stelde verder dat Rusland niet moet afglijden in een beleid van isolationisme, maar ook niet de eigen waardigheid moet verliezen door iedereen in de wereld tevreden te stellen.
Poetin verklaarde 700 miljard roebel te zullen investeren in de ontwikkeling van de Krim. Dat geld wordt gebruikt om banengroei te stimuleren en de infrastructuur uit te breiden.
Ondertussen is het centrum van Donetsk, het rebellenbolwerk in Oost-Oekrane, het toneel geworden van raketaanvallen. Dat meldt Sky News.

Ik vind dat de berichtgeving van Nu.nl wel heel veel smaak aan hun berichtgeving toevoegt met termen zoals "Russisch hulpkonvooi rukt op" .
Ik kan me niet herinneren dat wanneer ik op vakantie ging met mijn auto ik richting de grens van Frankrijk oprukte.

The Ukrainian state will receive a controlling stake in the said companies, and the rest of the shares can be bought by European and U.S. companies.
During the preparation of the document, the lawmakers and the government agreed to make two significant amendments. First, companies that are candidates to manage the GTS and underground storage facilities from the European Union and the United States are to disclose the full information on their beneficiaries. Secondly, if beneficiaries are changed, the issue is to be agreed with Ukraine.
As reported, Ukraine plans to create two companies to service underground storage facilities and the gas transport system, with the participation of U.S. and European partners. The pipelines and storage facilities will remain in state ownership.

The Russian convoy carrying humanitarian aid will be blocked unless it is inspected by Ukrainian border guards and customs officers, said Andriy Lysenko, spokesman for the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council.
"The movement of the convoy will be blocked by whatever forces are available," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday.
The Russian convoy must be checked by border guards and customs officers, in the presence of representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), he said.
"We hope that Russia will meet these requirements and will not violate Ukrainian and international laws," Lysenko said.
