quote:psalm 51
3 Wees mij genadig, God die liefde bent;
U, grenzeloze barmhartigheid,
Waarachtig, uw vonnis is terecht,
uw oordeel blijft onaanvechtbaar.
9 Reinig mij met hysop en ik zal schoon zijn;
17 Heer, open mijn lippen
dat is toch uw diepste verlangen;
bouw Jeruzalems muren weer op.
21 Dan zullen zijn offers U zeker tevreden stellen;
ontstoken en verteerd volgens voorschrift
liggen jonge stieren weer op uw altaar.

quote:"Which Side Are You On?" is a song written by Florence Reece in 1931. Reece was the wife of Sam Reece, a union organizer for the United Mine Workers in Harlan County, Kentucky. In 1931, the miners of that region were locked in a bitter and violent struggle with the mine owners called the Harlan County War. In an attempt to intimidate the Reece family, Sheriff J. H. Blair and his men (hired by the mining company) illegally entered their family home in search of Sam Reece. Sam had been warned in advance and escaped, but Florence and their children were terrorized in his place. That night, after the men had gone, Florence wrote the lyrics to "Which Side Are You On?" on a calendar that hung in the kitchen of her home.

quote:One way donkey ride
There you may stand in your splendour and jewels
Swaying me in both directions.
One is the right one, the other for fools,
How do I make my selection?
The city lies silent in the warm morning light,
The sand is as golden as saffron.
Oasis of love, sweet water of life,
God bless the poor ones who have none though they have tried.
Someone is drowning down there in the flood
But this river will dry by tomorrow.
Is it ocean or stream, this love in my blood,
Bringer of joy or of sorrow?
The end of the journey must soon be in sight,
Birth is the start of the swansong.
Oasis of love, sweet water of life,
God bless the poor ones who want some but are denied.
No one is given the map to their dreams,
All we can do is to trace it.
See where we go to,
Know where we've been,
Build up the courage to face it
While we fumble in the darkness where once there was light
Roaming the land of the ancients.
Oasis of love, sweet water of life,
God bless the poor ones whose patience never died.
While we stumble in blindness where once there was sight
Searching for trees in the forest.
Oasis of love, sweet water of life,
God bless the poor ones, so helpless they have cried.
God bless the poor ones who have none though they have tried.
God bless the poor ones who want some but are denied.
God bless the poor ones whose patience never died.
God bless the poor ones on that one way donkey ride.

Tar is one of the most important musical instruments in Iran and the Caucasus. The word tār (تار) means "string" in Persian.
The formation, compilation, edition, and inheritance of the most authentic and most comprehensive versions of radif are all worked on tar. The general trends of Persian classical music have been deeply influenced by tar players.
The melodies performed on tar were considered useful for headache, insomnia and melancholy, as well as for eliminating nervous and muscle spasms. Listening to this instrument was believed to induce a quiet and philosophical mood, compelling the listener to reflect upon life. Its solemn melodies were thought to cause a person to relax and fall asleep.

Teaserquote:In his six Suites for unaccompanied violoncello, J. S. Bach invented a style that is specific to that instrument, while exploring all its technical possibilities to the full. Over the years, the Suites have become a monument of the cello repertoire, to which all cellists return regularly. Some of the greatest of them did not record these works until they reached their years of maturity (Casals was over sixty, Rostropovich was sixty-three), while others have not hesitated to present several versions (Yo-Yo Ma, 1990, 1998; Janos Starker, 1957, 1963, 1983).
Ophélie Gaillard is among the latter. Her first recording of the Suites, released on the Ambrosia label in 2000, was highly acclaimed internationally by the critics and her performance earned her a French Classical Music Award (Victoire) as a "Revelation" in the Solo Instrumentalist category.
Ten years later, at the request of Nicolas Bartholomée, artistic director of the label, she agreed to record a new version on a cello made in 1737 by Matteo Goffriller, a contemporary of J. S. Bach. Ophélie Gaillard had already given us a reference performance of these pieces. Now we discover a prodigiously renewed vision of this masterpiece."

Dumb all over

And mutilate

From a neighboring state
TO ARMS! TO ARMS!
Hooray! That's great
Two legs ain't bad
Unless there's a crate

'N revenge, 'n deploy
'N rumble thee forth
To the land of the unbelieving scum on the other side
'Cause they don't go for what's in the book
'N that makes 'em BAD
So verily we must choppeth them up
And stompeth them down
Or rent a nice French bomb
To poof them out of existence
While leaving their real estate just where we need it
To use again
For temples in which to praise OURGOD
("Cause he can really take care of business!")
And when his humble TV servant
With humble white hair
And humble glasses
And a nice brown suit
And maybe a blonde wife who takes phone calls
Tells us our God says

Then we gotta do it,
'Cause if we don't do it,
We ain't gwine up to hebbin!

Everyday. ..
Hey, we can't really be dumb
If we're just following
God's Orders
Hey, let's get serious...
