Wat Tegan al zei...het blijft giswerk. Het enige wat wij als fans zien zijn de ratings. Maar er komen veel meer dingen bij kijken waar wij geen info over hebben. Dan heb ik het over de exacte syndication info, prestige van een show, contracten, internationale sales, etc etc. Die lijstjes zijn best leuk dus, maar ze geven niet alles weer.

Met nog 8 afleveringen te gaan presteert Revolution slechter dan ik had verwacht.
Mijn verwachting was dat ze rond een 2.0 rating zouden stabiliseren, maar ik denk niet dat ze dat nog gaan halen.
Revolution moest succesvol blijven door een heleboel promotie en ze NBC's best scorende lead-in te blijven geven: The Voice, maar het verschil loopt nu al op dan meer dan 50% en ik denk dat NBC dit toch langzaamaan als een teleurstelling gaat zien. Ook konden ze niet profiteren van een herhaling van Hawaii Five-O bij CBS, die pas over 2 weken terugkomt. Een verdere daling is dus nog zeker te verwachten.
Aan de serie zal best een aardig prijskaartje hangen en mochten ze dit seizoen op het niveau van een 1.6 rating terechtkomen, wat eigenlijk onmogelijk zou moeten zijn gezien de ratings van The Voice, dan zullen ze zich bij NBC toch wel op hun hoofd krabben en zich afvragen of deze 'hit' nog wel een toekomst heeft. Zelfs al komt er een tweede seizoen, mijn verwachting is dat de ratings dan toch snel compleet zullen instorten.

"Cult's" cancellation doesn't come as a surprise. The midseason series made its debut on Tuesday, February 19 and brought in a dismal 941,000 total viewers and only had a .3 rating in the key 18-49 demo.
After its second outing, which saw even lower numbers, The CW moved "Cult" to Fridays, which, for the teen-centric network, is not quite as deadly as is it on others. "Nikita" and "Supernatural" have both flourished on Fridays, but "Cult" did not. The most recent episode, which aired on Friday, April 5, brought in 620,000 total viewers and had a .2 rating.
"Cult" centered on journalist Jeff (Matthew Davis) and production researcher Skye's (Jessica Lucas) investigation into a TV show that's generated a cult following of fans who are re-creating the crimes depicted on their screens.
Before "Cult" premiered, former "Vampire Diaries" star Davis told The Huffington Post that he was glad they had the opportunity to film the entire 13-episode season before it started airing. "I’m a big believer in manifest destiny and you kind of create your reality as you go. For me, this has just been a wonderful, wonderful experience," he said. "I always felt like 22 episodes was too much. I really like the cable model of doing shorter seasons. The fact that The CW wanted intentionally to do just 13 episodes on this, I thought was great ... It’s a blessing to be able to film while you’re not airing. That pressure is not as great."
According to Zap2It, The CW has no immediate plans to air the six remaining episodes of "Cult". The website also reports that for the next three weeks, "Cult" will be replaced by repeats of "The Carrie Diaries" and "Oh, Sit."

Aangezien ze de beste scorende serie als lead-in hebben (TVD: 1.1 rating) doen ze het met de huidige ratings (BaTB; 0.5/0.6 rating) behoorlijk slecht, maar omdat er dit seizoen al vele andere series op The CW zijn gefaald/gestopt (5 van de 11 series) verwacht ik nog wel 1 (klein) seizoen.quote:

Word er uberhaupt nog wel iets gecancelled nu; Emily Owens, Cult, 90210 & Gossip Girl weg zijn. Zo houden ze niks over.

Volgens mij las ik ergens een artikel dat die zender een heleboel veelbelovende pilots voor komend seizoen heeft. Niet meer in de categorie Gossip Girl/90210, maar meer in de richting Supernatural/Arrow/Nikita. Zou een goede zaak zijn vind ik, wat mij betreft cancellen ze dan ook een hoop shows om ruimte daarvoor te maken.
Dit seizoen is voor The CW idd niet zo best. Ze moeten het dan ook echt hebben van Supernatural & Vampire Diaries. En nu komt daar dus ook Arrow bij die een succes is.
Denk dat er nog wel 1-2 worden gecancelled bij de CW. Aanbod is momenteel vrij brak. Gossip Girl vond ik al zwak de laatste seizoenen maar dat vond ik alsnog een van de beteren -_- Vampire Diaries en Hart of Dixie zijn voor mij momenteel de enigste leuke CW shows. Al heb ik Arrow nooit echt een kans gegeven, en die doet het wel goed qua kijkcijfers. Zelfde met Supernatural ( al heb ik dat wel uitgeprobeerd ).
Op zich zijn mijn ''belangrijkste'' series al vernieuwd. Alleen nog officieel nieuws van Grey's Anatomy + Criminal Minds zou mooi zijn

Gezien de vroege renewals bij NBC een update van het gehele overzicht met de prestaties van de overige series.
Gezien de concurrentie omstandigheden van deze week wil ik het nog een week aanzien, al zie ik het somber in voor de komende weken.
Hannibal begint het na 4 afleveringen steeds slechter te doen en is deze week eigenlijk al onder het kritische punt beland, waardoor de kansen van een tweede seizoen aanzienlijk zijn afgenomen. De laatste ratings (1.0) zijn nog niet definitief, maar mijn verwachting is dat dit amper hoger zal uitvallen.quote:NBC

Once Upon a Time Season 2 has been struggling in the ratings lately, hitting series low after series low. Is the problem poor plotting, too many new characters, crazy scheduling, or something else entirely? Whatever the cause, many fans are worried that the constant bad ratings news bodes ill for the show even being renewed for Season 3.
However, we're pretty sure OUAT is going to be okay. While it hasn't officially been renewed yet, all signs point to Season 3 being a go.
While Season 2, Episode 20: "The Evil Queen" hit a series low, it was still in second place for the timeslot amongst the networks, and was ABC's highest performer of the night. Plus, the ratings were up for Season 2, Episode 21: "Second Star to the Right." Once may be struggling relative to its past success, but it's still doing better than many of ABC's other shows.
The ratings analysts at TV by the Numbers agree, calling OUAT's renewal a sure thing. Given that the OUAT Powers That Be are currently developing a spin-off that, if picked up, would run during OUAT's winter hiatus, it certainly sounds like the bigwigs at ABC have every intention of keeping the show around next year. Showrunner Adam Horowitz has assured fans that ABC hasn't officially renewed any of its dramas so far; it's normal for them to wait until mid-May to announce renewals.
Of course, this doesn't mean fans — or the writers! — should relax. While it would be utterly shocking for the show not to get a Season 3, if the ratings downward spiral continues, Season 4 could be called into question. We wouldn't want that!

Go On was eerlijk gezegd ook best een grote tegenvaller. Met een grote naam als Matthew Perry erin betrokken is het natuurlijk logisch dat hij vrijwel de gehele screentime opeist, maar dat heeft wel als gevolg dat de vele andere personages nauwelijks tot hun recht komen en dus niet de kans krijgen om interessant over te komen.
Chicago PD ga ik zeker volgen! Chicago Fire is voor mij al de verrassing van dit seizoen en de verhaallijnen en personages van Voight en Antonio Dawson zijn interessant genoeg voor een volwaardige serie. Kan best wat worden.

Waarom is NBC eigenlijk zo beroerd geworden? Ene na de andere comedy loopt uit op een kijkcijferdrama terwijl ze vroeger toch wel bekend stonden om de goede comedy's zoals Friends en Frasier, 30 Rock en The Office US.
