Zoals ik al zei, er is maar 1 oplossing. Dat is een nieuwe sterke man die iedereen terug in zijn hok jaagt. en dan het land weer gaat opbouwen. Dan ben je wel weer 40 jaar verder voordat je aan democratie kunt gaan denken.quote:

Het vliegveld staat letterlijk in de fik en de hoofdstad gaat belegerd worden, erg veel meer kan het niet verschept worden.
EU en VS kunnen beter toegeven dat ze geen kant willen kiezen in een burgeroorlog en Putin niet verder de kast op willen jagen. Overigens opvallend dat de emiraten en egypte nu zelf beperkt ingrijpen. Gaat weer een hele andere dimensie geven aan het conflict.
Van de ene dictator naar de andere krijg je nooit iets dat lijkt op democratie. Behalve in theorie danquote:

The strikes signalled a step toward direct action by regional Arab states that previously have fought proxy wars in Libya, Syria and Iraq in a struggle for power and influence.
The bombing raids were first reported by the New York Times.
"The UAE carried out those strikes," one of the officials told AFP on condition of anonymity.
Asked about the account, the senior US official said "the report is accurate".
The US did not take part or provide any assistance in the bombing raids, the two officials said.
The first air strikes took place a week ago, focusing on targets in Tripoli held by the militias, including a small weapons depot, according to the Times. Six people were killed in the bombing.
A second round was conducted south of the city early on Saturday targeting rocket launchers, military vehicles and a warehouse, according to the newspaper.
Those strikes may have represented a bid to prevent the capture of the Tripoli airport, but the militia forces eventually prevailed and seized control of it despite the air attacks.
The UAE – which has spent billions on US-manufactured warplanes and other advanced weaponry – provided the military aircraft, aerial refuelling planes and aviation crews to bomb Libya, while Egypt offered access to its airbases, the paper said.
But it remained unclear whether and to what degree Egypt and the UAE had informed the Americans in advance of the air strikes.
When pressed on the issue, US officials could not confirm that Egypt and the Emirates had left Washington totally in the dark about the attacks.
Neither the UAE nor Egypt publicly acknowledged any role in the air strikes.
Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the Emirates view Islamist militants in the region as a serious threat and have cooperated against what they see as a common danger.
The Islamist groups that emerged after the Arab spring uprisings in turn have enjoyed support from Qatar and Turkey.
The bombing raids came amid a western diplomatic push for a negotiated settlement to quell the violence in Libya, where the government's authority has unravelled in the face of the Islamist-linked militias.
Britain, France, Germany, Italy and the US issued a joint statement condemning an "escalation of fighting and violence" in Libya and urged a democratic, peaceful transition.
The western powers expressed particular concern over violence "against residential areas, public facilities, and critical infrastructure, by both land attacks and air strikes".
Without mentioning any air strikes by the UAE and Egypt, the statement said "outside interference in Libya exacerbates current divisions and undermines Libya's democratic transition".
The governments welcomed upcoming discussions at the UN security council on Libya and said: "We encourage the international community to support Libya's elected institutions."
The air strikes also underscored how Washington's old allies are more willing to act on their own, without backing from the Americans.
Saudi and UAE leaders in particular have expressed concern that Washington can no longer be counted on, citing US diplomatic overtures to Iran and a cautious approach to the Syrian conflict.
The strikes in and around Tripoli demonstrated the UAE's readiness to employ its air power, as the Emirates have built up one of the region's most proficient air forces with American gear and training. UAE pilots flew combat missions in the Nato-led air war in Libya in 2011.
Over the past decade, the Emirates have purchased dozens of US F-16 fighter jets, as well as transport aircraft, precision-guided bombs and advanced missiles for their warplanes.
About 5,000 American troops are based in the Emirates, most of them airmen stationed at al-Dhafra airbase.

Overigens vechten ook in Libie bij ansar al-shari'a jihadisten mee uit Tunesie en Algerije (dit is zeker) en ik vermoed ook Egypte. De les die je uit het Syrische conflict zou kunnen trekken is dat je eerder in Libie moet ingrijpen voordat er een tweede ISIS is ontstaan.
En die foreign fighters komt omdat Libie al langer een vrijhaven is voor extremisten uit hele Maghreb-regio en ze het dus bijna als "hun land" beschouwen waar ze wel in alle vrijheid hun idealen kunnen nastreven en verdere expansietaktieken uitwerken omdat er geen centrale overheid is die ze opsluit en/of opjaagt zoals dat in Marokko, Algerije, Tunesie en Egypte wel het geval is.quote:Azzah, an Algerian and a leading figure within Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), was killed fighting alongside Ansar Al-Sharia on Saturday. Een 'regelrechte burgeroorlog' dreigt in Libië als de chaos en verdeeldheid in het Noord-Afrikaanse land voortduren.
Dat heeft de Libische ambassadeur bij de Verenigde Naties, Ibrahim Dabbashi, woensdag tegen de VN-Veiligheidsraad gezegd.
Dabbashi zegt burgeroorlog nooit als een mogelijkheid te hebben beschouwd, 'maar de situatie is veranderd'.
De Veiligheidsraad stemde unaniem in met een resolutie waarin wordt opgeroepen tot een onmiddellijk staakt-het-vuren en uitbreiding van sancties tegen personen die een gevaar vormen voor de stabiliteit in het land.
Libië heeft momenteel twee concurrerende regeringen en parlementen in verschillende delen van het land. De verdeeldheid komt voort uit rivaliteit tussen islamisten en non-islamisten, maar ook uit stammentwisten en regionale allianties.

Inderdaad simplistisch. De verre meerderheid van de milities die nu de problemen veroorzaken zijn opgericht na de revolutie. Ongeveer 220 000 'revolutionairen' worden nu betaalt door de overheid omdat ze zogenaamd tegen Khadaffi zouden hebben gevochten. Terwijl het werkelijke rebellenaantal destijds op zo'n 125 000 lag, en dat is een ruime schatting. Een groep militanten van de Libische Dageraad is enkele van de gebouwen op het terrein van de Amerikaanse ambassade in Tripoli binnengedrongen. Volgens de Amerikaanse autoriteiten is er niet ingebroken in het ambassadegebouw zelf.
De Libische Dageraad heeft na weken vechten tegen andere milities de controle over Tripoli weten te bemachtigen. Ze zeggen de gebouwen juist te bewaken en dat andere milities het terrein al eerder op waren gekomen. Op het afgesloten terrein staan onder meer de woningen voor ambassadepersoneel.
"We hebben beveiligers neergezet om deze plek te beschermen", zei een van de commandanten. "Het Amerikaanse personeel is van harte welkom. Gebieden die in handen van de Libische Dageraad zijn, zijn veilig." Volgens hen bewaken ze ook de ambassade.
Zwembad
De Verenigde Staten sloot de ambassade ruim een maand geleden, omdat de gevechten tussen radicaal-islamitische milities zoals de Libische Dageraad te hevig werden.
Op YouTube doken beelden op van militanten die in het zwembad bij de ambassadewoningen duiken. Een verslaggever van persbureau AP zag dat er schade is aan de gebouwen, maar dat er niet geplunderd lijkt te zijn. Zo staan alle toestellen in de sportzaal er nog en vond hij cornflakes in de kantine.

Is het racisme in Libie eigenlijk nog steeds zo erg? kan mij het filmpje nog wel herinneren waarbij zwarte mensen in een kooi werden gezet en ze een vlag moesten opeten van de rebellen.
En ik maar hopen dat er minstens eentje misduikt...quote:
