As Rachel mentioned in her post, we just heard yesterday that our three newest TV docs are airing starting 22 March, which is a little earlier than we were expecting.
I think the change of plans has something to do with Jeremy Clarkson's "fracas" with his producer, not that it really matters.
The first two shows are a two-parter about a month I spent meeting forensic patients at several large mental hospitals.
My Series Producer Jamie Pickup got us inside the Ohio Department of Mental Health and the stories of the people we met there were some of the most moving and fascinating that I've ever had the privilege of documenting.
The third show is unrelated to the first two - it's an exploration of the growing phenomenon of transgender kids in America. It's directed by a talented young director called Tom Barrow. We shot it in and around San Francisco, basing ourselves at a clinic that is pioneering an approach of early intervention for children who believe themselves to be born with the wrong anatomy.
All three docs are great - I know, I *would* say that, wouldn't I?

They have been found not guilty by reason of insanity and ordered by the courts to secure psychiatric facilities to receive the treatment that it is hoped will, one day, lead to their reintegration back into society.

And he investigates the difficult question - when is a patient with a serious crime in their past ready to be returned to the outside world?

De kerk die beroemd is van leden zoals Tom Cruise en John Travolta, stond onlangs volop in de belangstelling door de felle kritiek in de HBO-documentaire Going Clear. De BBC heeft nu Theroux ingeschakeld om naar eigen zeggen 'van binnenuit een onbevooroordeeld kijkje te nemen in de opvattingen en praktijken van Scientology'. Theroux riep leden van de kerk die hun zegje willen doen op deel te nemen aan de film.

Een groep baanbrekende medische professionals probeert nu deze crisis op latere leeftijd te voorkomen, door de overgang van transgender kinderen in een zo vroeg mogelijk stadium te begeleiden.
