U.N. spokesman Farhan Haq said Wednesday the letter has not been received, but Nicaragua's mission has scheduled a Thursday news conference at the U.N. with D'Escoto.
Nicaragua's statement said that Libya's previous candidate had not obtained a U.S. visa.

Alle partijen beginnen nu op onze Iraakse vriend te lijken.
Nederland moet trouwens maar eens beginnen met stellingen van G onder vuur te nemen vanuit de lucht. Het is hypocriet om daar te gaan vliegen en zogenaamd het volk te beschermen, als ze niks uitvoeren. Laat ze dan aan de grond en kom er eerlijk voor uit dat je niks wilt doen.
Of ze zijn bewust aan het uitdunnen van de troepenmacht van Gadhaffi terwijl ze zelf hergroeperen, parallel en ten zuiden van de kust.

Ik heb sinds het begon in Egypte amper meer naar de Nederlandse media geluisterd omdat ze zo verschrikkelijk ver afstonden van de werkelijke actuele situatie.
Alleen AJE en the Guardian waren eigenlijk goed te noemen.

En het leven in het Libië voor dit conflict was niet uitzichtloos? Na 40 jaar probeert het volk eindelijk om van de onderdrukking af te komen. Dit terwijl Kadaffi zonder buitenlandse bemoeienis al lang weer de complete macht in handen had gehad. Hoe lang zou dat doorgaan? Eindeloos, deels doordat het buitenland toch wil blijven handelen met de machthebber van Libië. Maar nu is er een mogelijkheid om het roer om te gooien, en daar moeten we voor gaan. Zelfs met een minder dan perfect plan, wat in een oorlog onvermijdelijk is.quote:

Uiteraard heb je gelijk dat dit niet mag verzanden in een Oost- vs. West-Libië conflict maar zo snel mogelijk moet worden beslist. De enige partij die hierover kan beslissen is de NAVO, dit regime is alleen vatbaar voor fysiek geweld.
