Ik durf 100% te zeggen dat het komt door het debat van gisteren op TV. Meest episiche politieke debat ooit op TV (In Arabische wereld althans). Hij werd letterlijk geowned gisteren.

The man is being invited to say the oath at Tahrir square tomorrow and some people close to him say that he is giving a thought and he may actually go. Already it turned out that he went once to Tahrir square during the revolution and demanded Mubarak to step down among a group of university professors.The last thing I heard that he may not go because he is extremely busy in forming the cabinet and will send a statement to the gathering at Tahrir tomorrow insh Allah. The man started to have FB fan pages already.

Despite being a NDP member Sharaf is being widely respected as he was sucked off the ministry of transportation in Nazifs cabinet because of his integrity. It is enough to say that it turned Mamdouh Ismail was the reason why he was sucked off the ministry thanks to his friend Zakaria Azmi.It turned out that in 2005 one of Ismail's old ferries had accident with some oil tanker at the Suez canal. Sharaf began an
investigation and demanded Ismail to compensate the tanker ,the thing which the marine transportation tycoon could not forget. In the next ministerial reshuffle we find none other than businessman Mohamed Mansour instead of him.
Some people began to speak about other important file that Sharaf tried to open but failed and was the reason why he was kicked from the ministry : The corruption scandals of Soliman Metwally , the former minister of transportation and that file is considered the holy of holies as Metwally was just like Youssef wali.
I also heard that two factors made the AFC chose Sharaf specifically :
During the last meeting with the AFC representatives , the coalition of January 25th Youth suggested two names : Essam Sharaf and Dr. Hazem El-Biblawy.
Sharaf believes in the importance of our relations with the Nile basin countries , he is needed now more than ever.

Dr.Sharaf
He is a real technocrat man , he is extremely professional when it comes to transportation , he is from world renowned experts in transportation and got over 100 research about the development of highways ..etc. He was against the regime's control on the syndication of engineers.
The minister of foreign affairs is said to have resigned , already if I am not mistaken the cabinet of Shafik has collapsed already. Our ambassador to the UN Nabil El-Araby is a strong candidate despite he has not been informed yet officially.
Already despite the fact that Nabil El-Araby's name is on the FM's candidates list yet I think there is a confession between him Nabil El-Araby and Nabil El-Ezaby. Nabil El-Ezaby is a strong candidate for the ministry of interior. Nabil El-Ezaby is currently the governor of Asuit and actually the man has not got a so bright record as he was the chief of Cairo's security directorate in 2005 with all the jazz that happened in that year if you remember it.

Berichten van activisten: 10 dood - Ze gingen protesteren omdat de directeur, die ontslagen/weg was omdat ie verdacht was van moord en mishandeling terug is in de gevangenis om weer directeur te zijn.

UPDATE 20.48 GMT : Their are unconfirmed, but several reports of people shot, some seriously.

In yet another chapter in the ongoing social revolution with immediate within Egypt, this evening at people surrounded the State Security Police headquarters in in Alexandria. The State Security Police force are much are despised element of the police force as an active element within the Mubarak regime. Ht the time of writing the situation is still a little unclear though it seems that people surrounded the building and stormed its it with vocal demands to close it down

State Security Police have acted with impunity over decades and is seems natural that their HQ in Alexandria would become a focus point of the anger of population. Khaled Said was one of many Egyptians who where killed by this security force. His murder at the hands of the police was a significant rallying point for many who then said that enough was enough. People have been calling for disbandment of the State Security apparatus given its role within society as an arbitrary dispenser of violence, brutality and daily indignity.

Earlier tonight people congregated outside the HQ

From the information available at the moment mostly received by tweets from people on the ground there, and is breaking it is still unclear what the exactly has happened.

However, it seems that the spontaneous demonstration by the few hundred of the local population outside the state security police headquarters turn turned into clashes between the people and the police some photos below were posted in the context of people disarming the police and removing equipment such as riot shields, helmets and possibly armaments. It is also reported that shots were fired from inside the state security police force HQ and that there has been at least one injury due to gunfire.

The army then arrived at the scene of clashes. There are also reports that Molotov cocktails, or petrol bombs as they are more commonly known in Ireland, were thrown from top of the building by State Security Police and at least three cars having burnt out as a result. Several people commented on hearing loud explosions. However, it is likely that these were the result of burning cars as as there have been no further reports of injuries from the explosions. They have be rumours tweeted that their are snipers on the building roofs

The state security forces HQ is currently on fire and the army reported to be are evacuating the building. However it also seems that many people are inside trying to remove as much paperwork as possible. Eyewitness tweets report that people have been seen leaving the HQ with papers. Its likely that the HQ itself was a depository of information and records that may contain evidence of the brutal actions of the police. Large amount of teargas have been fired by State Security and it is unclear if there are clashes between the police and army. There are conflicting reports stating that the clashes are continuing and that the State Security Police have surrender to the people and the army. Its seems that the army retreated from the situation for a period them returned.

Ooggetuige AJE

Demonstranten bij het gebouw protesteren ivm vermiste/gearresteerde mensen. Politie begon vanaf het dak dingen te roepen en later molotovs te gooien. Toen dat geweld begon greep het leger in en ging men het gebouw in waar toen brandjes waren ontstaan en papieren vernietigd.

Latere berichten gaan over dat de politie op o.a. het leger schoot waardoor iig 1 soldaat een schotwond opliep.
