The Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection Ultimate Pack is a doozy: it contains the PSP game of course, a guide book, a Final Fantasy IV Complete Arts artbook, and a 17-track music CD. The CD is called Final Fantasy IV & After Years Sounds Plus, but just twelve tracks have been chosen - fans get to vote on and choose the other five.

The tracklist for the 12 existing tracks is here, and if you're a Square Enix member (in Japan) you can vote here. Heck, even if you're not a member, go anyway and listen to the track samples. To see more of the ultimate pack itself, take a look in our gallery here.

The Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection, which includes the episodic sequel The After Years and a scenario which links the two, will be out in Japan on March 24th. While the Ultimate Pack will cost 9445 yen ($114.39 US), the regular edition will cost 5980 yen ($72.43 US) in UMD format, or 4980 yen ($60.32 US) for a digital download. The collection has not yet been announced for North America.

PSP is een beetje dood naar mijn mening. Komen nog wel wat toppers. Maar voor de rest niet veel.

Binnenkort 3DS. Lijkt soms net of die grafisch beter is dan de PSP.

Ys I & II Chronicles will be released next month, and XSEED Games is handing out a bit more information on what the game will contain. First, in addition to the physical "Hair Metal Pack" which will cost $29.99, XSEED Games will also release a digital download version of the game on PSN for $24.99. Also, while the game is intended to be challenging, XSEED has included a guide called "Reah's Trusty Field Manual" in the game manual to guide players through Ys I.

The most interesting announcement, though, is that the upcoming PSP version of Ys I & II will include three different soundtrack options. The player can switch between these soundtracks at any time during gameplay. The options include a newly arranged soundtrack with live instrumentation, the synth soundtrack from the 2001 Japanese PC release, and the original tracks from the 1987 and 1988 release of the game. XSEED has even provided a trailer to show off some of the differences.

An old fan rendering of what a new PSP could potentially look like. Most current reports indicate that the system will not have a sliding design.

Nikkei has some preliminary details on Sony's next generation PlayStation Portable system.

According to the paper, the new system will have 3G support. In Japan, the 3G service will be provided by NTT DoCoMo.

Using the 3G connection, gamers will be able to play online games and download software and movies. The service will not allow for phone calls.

The system will also have standard wireless LAN, of course. However, the 3G support will allow players to connect online wherever DoCoMo has wireless service. DoCoMo is Japan's largest mobile carrier.

Separate from the wireless functionality, the paper reports that the new PSP will make use of an OLED touch screen which will be larger than normal. Regarding the system's internals, the paper reports that Sony has developed a new processor for handling high resolution visuals.

Pricing on the next generation PSP is currently TBA, according to the paper. The paper does not mention possible subscription fees associated with the 3G service, or the possibility of a Wi-Fi only model.

The paper also makes brief mention of the device that many are calling "Playstation Phone," a smart phone that includes game features. This will have button-based controls, the paper reports, making games control easier. The device will use Google's Android operating system and will allow users to access non-game software like video and scheduling software.

Sony is expected to take the veil off the new PSP system at a press conference on the 27th. The PlayStation cell phone device is expected to be unveiled next month.

3DS zal PSP+ niveau zijn denk ik. Voor de pure graphicshoer komt in september de PSP2 uit.
