Geen serieuze kandidaten dus:
- Durango had vorig jaar niets eens geld om GP2 seizoen af te maken.
- Stefan GP blijft een vaag iets.
- Epsilon Euskadi had wel geld om twee LMP1's te bouwen, echter vervolgens geen geld om meer dan een paar races te doen.

Schumacher stopt pas na volgend jaar, mits hij dan weer rond p8-12 rondrijdt. Kan me niet voorstellen dat hij dit jaar al afziet van zijn gewraakte comeback...

"Ik zou graag voor het einde van het seizoen een contract op zak hebben. 95% van het pakket dat nodig is om Jérôme naar de F1 te brengen, is er nu al. De rest is slechts een kwestie van dagen. Dan stappen we naar Virgin, want ook zij willen zo snel mogelijk weten waar ze aan toe zijn voor volgend jaar."

Räikkönen niet uit op F1 comeback in 2011

Kimi Räikkönen's management team has confirmed that the Finn is no longer looking at Formula 1 race options for next season, as the World Rally Championship is where he wants to stay in 2011.

Speaking to Finnish television station MTV3, Steve Robertson admitted Räikkönen wants to remain where he is.

"We're no longer looking at opportunities in F1. Kimi seems to be focused on rallying at the moment," said Robertson.

He refused to rule out a longer-term return to Formula 1 or racing for the 30-year old, adding: "Never say never, but right now our eye is not on F1.

"Nothing's been decided yet [for the WRC]. We'll let you know when there is something to say. At the moment nothing has been signed. We're talking to several teams."

In recent days, there has been increased speculation that Citroën will find a solution to keep Räikkönen in its Junior team with the 2007 F1 world champion taking money from a personal sponsorship deal from Red Bull, which is expected to be considerably lower than the £5m he is rumoured to have been paid by the Austrian firm this season.

Beyond Citroën, Mini remains an option for Räikkönen, but the limited programme of 2011 events and the high level of car development would not suit his experience or desire to be driving all the time at the moment.

A seat alongside Ken Block at the Monster Ford World Rally Team is another option, but there are funding issues for the American-based outfit.

Block admitted running with Räikkönen would offer great potential exposure for both Monster and DC Shoes, but he added a decision on a potential second driver may not be taken until early next year.

The final option for Räikkönen is a season away from rallying, with a possible return when there is likely to be more manufacturer interest in 2012.

Ik denk dat er niets veranderd bij de topteams (Red Bull, McLaren, Ferrari, Mercedes) op Massa's positie na, die zou zomaar vervangen kunnen worden door Kubica. Dan zal Massa waarschijnlijk naar Renault gaan óf Schumacher moet hem opeisen bij Mercedes, dan is Rosberg gezien (contracten in F1 stellen namelijk niet veel voor).

Toro Rosso: Buemi, Alguersuari al weet ik niet of Jaime wel zo zeker kan zijn van een zitje
Lotus: Trulli, Kovalainen of een rookie? (GP2 vijver: Maldonado, Jules Bianchi, Sam Bird, Charles Pic?)

HRT: Senna, Yamamoto... al snap ik niet waarom Chandhok die beter presteerden dan Senna vervangen is (of was dat nou net de reden? )

Sam Bird krijgt test bij Mercedes GP in Abu Dhabi na het seizoen

Briton Sam Bird will drive for the Mercedes GP team in the post-season test at Abu Dhabi.

The 23-year-old, who is in fifth place in the GP2 championship, will join the German squad for the young driver test after the end of the season.

Bird first tested Formula 1 machinery when he drove for the Williams team in 2007, when he carried out a series of aerodynamic tests at the Kemble airfield.

"Sam has done an impressive job in the GP2 Series during his first season," said team boss Ross Brawn. "We are very pleased that Sam will be joining Mercedes for the Young Driver test next month and are confident that he will provide the team with the essential consistency and feedback we require.

"This is also an excellent chance for Sam to continue his progression in motorsport and widen his experience of Formula 1.

"Sam has been chosen due to his relevant current single-seater pedigree through his competition in GP2, the F3 Euro Series and British F3 and as an added bonus, he will have experience of the track from his GP2 racing over the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend. We look forward to working with Sam at the test and to seeing his progress and feedback over the two days."

Norbert Haug added: "For the upcoming Young Driver test days in Abu Dhabi, it was important for us to find a young and talented driver with single-seater and preferably GP2 experience.

"Sam Bird, who competed in the F3 Euro Series last year with our DTM partner team Mucke Motorsport before he progressed to the ART team in GP2, who are also partners with Mercedes-Benz in F3, fulfils these requirements. With the experience that Sam will gain during the GP2 races in Abu Dhabi, I am sure he will be well prepared for the test."

Er doet een gerucht de ronde dat Webber aan het einde van het seizoen zou stoppen.

Nee ik kijk dan liever de GP2 series, daarin zitten de toekomstig F1 coureurs in de A1GP zat (Hülkenberg bereikte uiteindelijk de F1) niet veel soeps.

Toch denk ik nog steeds dat het helemaal niet zo'n slecht format was. Yelmer Buurman gaat de Force India trouwens testen volgens o.A. Nu.nl. Zal vast bij de ene test blijven.
