Ben vrouw, bijna 36. Ben nu een jaar officieel single, heb onlangs wel geprobeerd een relatie op te bouwen maar dat heeft de afstand en andere praktische bezwaren niet overleefd. En omdat het eigenlijk nooit echt van de grond is gekomen (ondanks oprechte bedoelingen bij beide partijen) tel ik het maar niet als echte relatie.

Dat was het Relatie gedeelte, nu nog de Psychologie: dat vind ik gewoon machtig interessant. Mits het serieus wordt gedaan. Zo ben ik geen voorstander van het plakken van een ADHD-sticker op ieder niet fatsoenlijk opgevoed kind, of op het plakken van het etiket "autist" op ieder muurbloempje. Om maar wat te noemen. En daar ga ik op zich ook graag over in discussie. Maar aangezien een discussie inhoudt dat beide kanten met behulp van valide argumenten gestaafd dienen te worden, en er niet alleen maar Welles-Nietes geroepen wordt, komt dat er niet altijd van.

Zo. Mag ik nu blijven?

This program is a continuation of the instruction exercises about cellular automata. See Instruction 3 for these exercises.

The cellular automata we consider in this assignment consist of a row of cells that can be either occupied or empty. The number of cells in the row is specified in the input. The initial configuration is specified in the input by specifying the occupied cells.

Your program has to implement several automata all sharing the following properties.

* only the current generation determines the next one
* the rules define one value for each cell
* the rules are the same for each cell
* the new value of the cell is dependent only on the value of the direct neighbours and the cell itself (this set of three cells is called the neighbourhood of the cell; to have a neighbourhood of three cells everywhere, we assume an always empty cell on the outside of the two cells on the borders of the row).

Your program has to implement the following rule sets. Note that these rule sets are different from the sets in the exercise.

A. 1. if the cell is currently occupied, it remains occupied only if exactly one neighbour is occupied; 2. it the cell is currently empty, it remains empty only if both neighbours are empty.

B. 1. if the cell is currently occupied, it remains occupied only if the right neighbour is empty; 2. it the cell is currently empty, it becomes occupied if exactly one neighbour is occupied.
Remarks

There are extra requirements for computer science students to get higher grades.

Test sets are provided on Monday morning.
Input

1. the letter A or the letter B, signifying the automaton that should be executed;
2. a positive integer L representing the length of the row of cells (not counting the extra border cells you may add in your implementation);
3. a positive number G representing the number of generations that should be displayed, including the initial generation;
4. the word init_start followed by one or more positive integers, followed by the word init_end; the integers designate the position of the cells in the row that are initially occupied; the first cell in the row has position 1. All other cells are initially empty. When an integer is higher than the number of cells L, it should be ignored
5. the word end.

Output

A sequence of G lines (G defined above) representing the succesive generations. The first line is the initial generation, as specified in the input.

Each line consists of L characters, each character represents one cell. An empty cell is displayed as a space, an occupied cell as the character '*'.

Newlines are not significant in the input. In other words, don't use nextLine().
Hints

The input sequence of initially occupied cells is terminated with a word, not an integer. This makes it awkward to input the sequence with nextInt(), since calling nextInt() when a non-numeric word is on input will result in an error. It may be convenient to input the numbers with next() and then transforming the resulting String (let's say s) into an int by Integer.parseInt(s). See Chapter 5 of the Reader.

Advanced

A more advanced version, required for computer science students to get grades above 8, should take the following extra input before the word end.

* A sequence of 8 numbers, either 0 or 1, representing the rules of the automaton. How this works is explained below.

The next state of a cell depends only of the current state of the three neighbourhood cells. There are 8 such state combinations (X means occupied, E, means empty:

1. XXX (all cells are occupied)
2. XXE (right neighbour is empty, others are occupied)
3. XEX (etc.)
4. XEE
5. EXX
6. EXE
7. EEX
8. EEE

The n-th number on input designates whether a cell becomes empty in the next generation (0) or occupied (1) when the current state of the neighbourhood is corresponds to the n-th combination in this list.
Example of a rule set

The input sequence:: 0 1 0 1 1 1 1 0

defines an automaton with the following rules:

1. if the current cell and its neighbours are occupied, the cell becomes empty (first number);
2. if the current cell is empty and both neighbours are occupied or both neighbours are empty, the cell remains empty (third and eighth number);
3. in all other cases the cell remains or becomes occupied.

The letter A or B in the input is ignored in the advanced case
