Vervolgens vertrok de aanvaller naar Genua in Italië van 1992/93 - 1995/96. Voor deze twee clubs speelde hij in totaal 380 competitiewedstrijden, waarin hij veertig keer scoorde. Daarnaast speelde hij 41 interlands (twee doelpunten).Wie?

Na zijn actieve voetbalcarrière was hij jeugd- en assistenttrainer bij Ajax en hoofdtrainer bij FC Twente.
