New information has emerged suggesting that one of the mainstays in the Natalee Holloway mystery, that she left the club in a grey car with Joran Van der Sloot and the two Kalpoe brothers, Satish and Deepak, may be incorrect.

It appears she may have left the front of the club on foot with Deepak Kalpoe.

Beginning with an Internet message referenced here:

When we saw her leave she left by herself. No one was with her but we did notice some local guys talking to her while she was in there.

Now, another source from Mountain Brook has come forward and offered an eyewitness account more in line with the Internet message which suggests Natalee Holloway did, at least once, walk out of Carlos and Charlies alone.

A witness outside of Carlos and Charlies that night states that Natalee Holloway came out of the club alone and appeared to be looking for someone. She stood in front of the night club for a short time and did present the appearance of someone who had been drinking, though she was certainly standing and in complete control. The words used to describe her appearance were "a little tipsy."


While an earlier report of a confrontation between Joran Van der Sloot and a male graduate from Mountain Brook may be true, I have not been able to independently confirm that story. I have been able to confirm a skirmish the previous night between Deepak Kalpoe and a student from Mountain Brook. It was presented more as a minor conflict soon forgotten and easily broken up by a friend other than a Mr. Reynolds, who has claimed to break up a fight between Joran Van der Sloot and a Mountain Brook student.

As to what became of Natalee Holloway, one witness insists that after standing in front of Carlos and Charlies alone and looking about for a short time - she actually re-entered the night club for a brief period. She then emerged not with Joran Van der Sloot, but with Deepak Kalpoe, who is said to have had her by the arm in a manner suggesting he was helping her to maintain her balance.

The two are reported to have walked off down the street, turning the corner - possibly into a small alley, or a side street.

One possibility is that Natalee was actually looking for Joran Van der Sloot and relying upon Deepak Kalpoe to take her to him. That opinion is speculation and unconfirmed.

Update: This shouldn't be interpreted to mean that the three suspects and Natalee Holloway didn't eventually get in a car together. It is simply another thread in the story. It is quite possible that the four came back to the front of C&C. But this is a solid report, as solid as anything else. More so in some ways to me as I have spoken to the source for an extended period of time. The version has not changed and is, as stated, an eyewitness account from a verified source. 130 anyone's can see 130 things and many may fit into a timeline which makes none of them wrong. I am only reporting what I have verified through sources and what I have not.

In what was a controversial story at the time, I reported that Natalee Holloway left Carlos and Charlies with Deepak Kalpoe and not Joran Va der Sloot. In addition to sources used for that first report, I have now confirmed through another independent witness that the report was in fact accurate.

In attempts to re-construct the time-line for the night of Natalee Holloway's disappearance, it now seems that she did leave first with Joran Van der Sloot - but the two did not walk off together immediately.

At some point after most of Natalee's friends drifted away, Joran v d Sloot and Satish Kalpoe are thought to have left the front of the club, perhaps to return to Deepak's car.

Natalee then went back inside the club very briefly before emerging with the elder Kalpoe brother, who, as previously reported, was said to have been holding her by the arm. That has been described as non-romantic in nature and more consistent with an effort to assist one as they walk. At some point during that time period an unidentified Mountain Brook student is reported to have asked her if she was "Okay." It's believed she responded that she was.

The two are said to have been observed walking up the street from C and C some 80 to 100 yards, passing by the other nightclubs on the street until at or through a nearby intersection. At some point time after they disappeared from view, the three boys and Natalee Holloway are reported to have come back through the area, all seated in the car of Deepak Kalpoe. The car containing Natalee Holloway is said to have been observed by another Mountain Brook student who was located upon the porch of another nightclub.

The acquaintance hung out with the other Mountain Brook students, including Natalee, and they were all drinking a lot. He said that Natalee appeared to be attracted to Joran, but it was Deepak who showed an interest in Natalee. Everyone was dancing during the night and, at one point, Natalee got up on the bar and danced. The acquaintance followed, then others joined them. When the bar was closing, the acquaintance went out front to catch a cab with some people he had met from another high school. He said that he noticed that he and Natalee were the last two Mountain Brook students to leave the bar. He had been outside with his three new friends when he saw Natalee exit the bar by herself. She told him she was looking for someone. He knew from hanging out with her in the bar that she had been drinking, but she was walking without assistance and talking coherently. He offered to have her join him and his friends for the cab ride back to the hotel, but she said no. Instead, she reentered the bar. After about fifteen or twenty minutes, the boy again saw Natalee emerge from Carlos'n Charlie's, but now she was stumbling and needed Deepak's assistance to walk. They walked away, and the acquaintance never saw him again.

I spoke to a police investigator on one of my trips back to Aruba over the months following Natalee's disappearance, and he told me that, based on the way her acquaintance described her, the drug GHB was probably administered to her. If someone is affected by GHB, the people they are with gain complete control over them. Taking the drug is like flipping a light switch. The person who slips the girl the drug has the control. Then the next day, the girl has no recollection of the events."

This was reported to me second hand but I understand in one of those reports this girl drinks a drink and then all of a sudden her lips started tingling and what that means I'm really not sure.

We do know this, there was a reporter that went in to this bar where there was an allegation that the bartender would mix up the drink for the locals for $25. This reporter spent about 4 hours in that club and noticed that when a male came up and ordered two drinks a bottle would be pulled from a side cabinet, away from the regular liquor and this bottle was unmarked and clear and was poured in one of the drinks adn then he noticed approximately 20 minutes later, that the girl and the individual were no longer to be found.

An Appeals Panel Delays Decision to Re-Arrest Joran van der Sloot

Prosecutors in Aruba say there's been another delay in their request to re-arrest Joran van der Sloot.
Aruba's Ministry of Justice filed for permission to re-arrest van der Sloot soon after his secretly recorded confession tape became public.
A Dutch judge denied the request - saying the tape didn't provide enough evidence to justify van der Sloot's third arrest.
Aruban prosecutors appealed, and a panel of three judges in The Netherlands was scheduled to decide Monday if they would over rule the first judge's decision.
Instead, Monday afternoon the Appeals Court announced they're giving van der Sloot's defense attorney until Wednesday to fight the effort to re-arrest him.
It's a stressful waiting game for Natalee Holloway's family. Her dad Dave Holloway says he is more convinced than ever that van der Sloot drugged his daughter the night she died. Holloway says he believes it happened at a more private back bar at Carlos and Charlie's that served up some suspicious drinks when bar tenders announced last call.
“A male would come up and order two drinks. The bartenders would reach up, get the liquor bottles - then pour the drinks. Then the bartender would reach down below him and grab a bottle with clear liquid and just put it in one of the drinks," explains Holloway. Van der Sloot says he was lying on the confession tape, but Holloway believes it’s the truth. Holloway says one of the most tell-tale parts of the tape is when van der Sloot admits he was on the beach with Natalee the night she died, and then that he called someone to dump her body when she went unconscious.
“Common sense will tell you, that's not a normal reaction. If you hadn't done something wrong, why would you bother to get rid of the body? Why go to the trouble?” questions Holloway.
The Appeals Panel could make its decision on whether police can re-arrest van der Sloot by the end of the week.

TEEN CLAIMS JORAN DRUGGED AND RAPED HER

A 16-year-old girl has told police she was drugged and raped at a party by Joran van der Sloot — heightening fears for the nightmarish last moments of missing Alabama teen Natalee Holloway.

And The National Enquirer has learned that the girl's evidence is likely to prevent Van der Sloot's release from prison in Aruba.

Investigators were stunned by the story the teenager finally poured out on August 25 after months of soul searching.

The new witness' identity is being closely guarded but we have learned that she's a slim, popular, above-average student at a public school and lives in a middle class neighborhood close to Oranjestad, the Caribbean island's capital.

Her ordeal began, she claimed, this spring in a private home at a party attended by Joran and his friends.

"Many of the youngsters were drinking," revealed an insider. "Toward the end of the evening, the 16-year-old suddenly felt woozy. From her description, investigators believe that a date rape drug or maybe Ecstasy was slipped into her drink.

"She passed out and the next thing she claims to remember is coming back to consciousness and realizing she was being sexually assaulted by Joran."

The drug detail is particularly telling because cops believe that Natalee, 18, was also slipped Ecstasy or a similar drug before she left a nightclub on May 30 with Joran and two friends.

Former U.S. Secret Service agent Arthur Wood, who's been working unofficially on the case with Aruban authorities, told The National Enquirer: "The girl went to a police station and reported the alleged attack afterward... but apparently no action was taken.

"Since then she has been too frightened to even tell her parents what happened."

Then, in late August, with the possibility looming that Joran might be freed, the frightened teen felt unable to keep her secret any longer.

"She went to a girlfriend's mother she trusted and confided the whole story to her," said Wood.

The mother persuaded the girl to go with her to the office of local attorney Helen Lejeuz on August 25.

Said Wood: "The police have now talked to her — and I'm told that she says she has two girlfriends, also age 16, who claim the same thing happen to them."

The girl's testimony dramatically strengthens the case against Joran. Her charges came just one day before another breakthrough in the case. On August 26, prosecutors re-arrested the two men who were last seen with Natalee and Van der Sloot — 21-year-old Deepak Kalpoe and his brother Satish, 18 — on suspicion of rape and murder "together with one or more people" in the Natalee case.

The same day police also arrested Joran's close friend Freddy Arambatzis, 20, who they believe helped give him a false alibi early in the case.

The Kalpoe brothers — who told police they left Joran alone with Natalee on a beach near the Marriott hotel before 2 am — were first arrested with Joran but were freed from prison in July.

"They were picked up again after a jogger came forward," revealed a source. "The jogger was out for a run the morning Natalee disappeared — and was able to corroborate the testimony of a previous witness, a gardener, who said he saw Joran, Deepak and Satish in a car near the beach between 2:30 and 3 am. That blew their stories out of the water."

Sources says Arambatzis was detained on suspicion of criminal activity not connected with Natalee.

But more importantly, says Wood: "Investigators desperately need somebody to talk — and Freddy may be the weak link the cops have been looking for."
