Wat is daar ondankbaar aan?
Ik luister FNM sinds 1990 en als ik één band tot mijn all-time favorite zou moeten bestempelen, dan zou het Faith no More zijn, maar denken dat de belangrijkste motivatie voor deze tour een andere dan geld is, getuigt nou niet echt van realiteitszin
Daarmee zeg ik overigens niks over de kwaliteit van de komende shows, die zal ongetwijfeld overweldigend goed zijn.

Ik was er gister in Brixton Academy bij, na enige moeite. Zoals al eerder gepost had ik geen kaartje weten te bemachtigen via de reguliere verkoop (binnen 10 seconden uitverkocht!), maar er was gister een levendige zwarthandel. Probleem daarbij was dat de scalpers vooral e-tickets verkochten: a4-printouts dus. Tja... dat vertrouwde ik niet, want die kun je wel 100x kopieren. Kosten waren telkens rond de 120 pond (echte prijs was 37 pond). Net toen ik toch maar de gok wilde wagen, kwam er een jongen op me af (ik stond met een 1 ticket wanted-sign) die zei dat hij een kaartje over had. Een echte. Wat ik ervoor wilde betalen. '40 pounds?' probeerde ik. Hij zei meteen ja.
En zo was ik ineens met een 'standing stalls' kaartje (veldkaart) binnen!
Voorprogramma nog geen minuut van gezien, klonk waardeloos.
FNM opkomst was geweldig, met de cover 'reunited' en heel FNM in vreselijk pastel getinte pakken aan. Soort Love Boat stijl. Was geweldige opening zo, heel corny.
Probleem was alleen in de rest van de show dat het geluid ONGELOOFLIJK SLECHT was. Keihard, heel schel, enorme brij van geluid. Ben vooraan gaan staan, later bij geluidstoren, hielp ook niet, en uiteindelijk helemaal achteraan. Nog steeds waardeloos.
Was echt een enorme domper op de show, waar verder nog heel veel schoonheidsfoutjes in zaten. Ze moesten er duidelijk weer even in komen.
Leukste moment was toen Mike vroeg: 'And, what have you guys been up to the past twelve years?' Dat leverde nogal een chaos aan geroep op.
Verder miste ik 'What a Day', maar dat werd op zich wel weer gecompenseerd met veel andere nummers uit mijn top 10.
Maar het geluid... oh boy... wat was dat slecht.
Inmiddels alweer terug in NL. Heb op mn iPhone nog wat foto's staan, maar die zijn van verwaarloosbare kwaliteit.
