AMSTERDAM - Ajax gaat proberen om Nwankwo Kanu terug te halen naar Amsterdam. De club van trainer Marco van Basten moet daarbij concurreren met Fiorentina.

Zowel Ajax als de Italianen zouden al een bod hebben gedaan op de aanvaller van Portsmouth. Fiorentina wil een miljoen betalen voor de oud-speler van Arsenal en Ajax zou zelfs al 2,5 miljoen geboden hebben, zo meldt Spits.

Kanu gaf eerder al eens aan graag terug te keren bij de club waar hij tussen 1993 en 1996 speelde. Destijds kwam een transfer er echter niet van.
