The Killers is een indie rockband uit Las Vegas die opgericht werd in 2002. In 2005 breken zij met hun single Somebody Told Me door. Daarna volgen hits als Mr. Brightside, All these things I\'ve done en Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll van hun debuutcd Hot Fuss.

The Killers gaan voor hun traditionele Kerst-single samenwerken met Elton John.

spaceman vind ik in de album versie ook prima klinken. Ok niet zo goed misschien als live zoals eerder gezegd, maar dit is wel een bewijs dat die previews een behoorlijk verkeerd beeld kunnen geven!

Ik ben erg benieuwd naar het album en dat ga ik zeker kopen.
Intussen heb ik de nodige remixes gehoord van "Human" en die zijn behoorlijk goed. Strak werk van Ferry Corsten en Armin van Buuren (twee keer Neerlands' trots), maar vooral de Ocelot remix is erg gaaf. Ik heb nog nooit van Ocelot gehoord, maar na deze remix ga ik zeker op zoek naar meer.

Ik ga dit topic vanaf nu maar mijden, het maakt mij enkel ongeduldiger en ik schiet er niets mee op, en dat terwijl ik het gevoel heb dat dit album zelfs niet 'Sam's Town' gaat evenaren. 
Afijn, over 10 dagen kijken of de Mediamarkt ze al in de schappen heeft staan, ze hebben wel vaker cd's in de schappen staan één of twee dagen voor de releasedatum.

Elton had a hit back in the 70s with the Christmas song ‘Step into Christmas and ‘Ho Ho Ho Who’s Be A Turkey At Christmas’. This will be the third Christmas song from The Killers. Last year they released ‘Don’t Shoot Me Santa’. In 2006, they released ‘A Great Big Sled’.

Last week Brandon Flowers asked me to help him write some lyrics for The Killers' Christmas single, "Joseph", which is a duet with Elton John. I wrote the lyrics for one verse and sang a guide vocal of them. It was fun spending a little time in the studio with him and Stuart Price. Neil x
dat ze wat gingen opnemen met Elton John wist ik al, maar dat hier nog 50% van de Pet Shop Boys in zit vind ik alleen maar nog mooier!

Ik houd meer van de nummers waar veel gitaren inzitten zoals When you where young en daarom vind ik het beter.
Ook staat het beste nummer van de band op dit album naar mijn mening: This river is wild.
Inderdaad, de grote bladen noemden het een "slap aftreksel van Springsteen" oid. Terwijl naar mijn mening nummers als Sam's Town, When You Were Young, Read My Mind, For Reasons Unknown stuk voor stuk klassiekers zijn. Zo zie je maar weer dat smaken erg kunnen verschillen, en dat je zeker niet blind zou moeten afgaan op wat een stel zure recensenten schrijven, die waarschijnlijk de plaat niet meer dan 3 keer hebben beluisterd alvorens ze hun mening neerpenden.quote:Op dinsdag 18 november 2008 00:07 schreef Shadow_NL het volgende:

Ja. Het album is nu 'officieel' gelekt, er staan al de nodige rips op verschillende torrent-websites.
De geluidskwaliteit van deze rips is wat magertjes (128 kbps), dus nu nog even wachten op een volwaardige rip van 320kbps. Maar over 2 dagen ligt de CD al in de winkel.

Ik had het album snel gedownload voordat ik naar school ging, ik ben pas rond 3/4 uur uit, dus ik moet nog een halve dag wachten tot ik thuis goed kan luisteren naar een goede kwaliteit rip.quote:

Eerste indruk: wisselvallig album dat wel wat luisterbeurtjes nodig heeft om aan te wennen.
Vooral Joy Ride en I Can't Stay, ik weet nog niet wat ik daarvan moet vinden..
Favorieten zijn tot nu toch wel Spaceman, Losing Touch, A Dustland Fairytale en Goodnight, Travel Well.
Vooral die laatste is heel er-rug tof, ik werd bij de eerste keer al helemaal in die plaat getrokken.
A Crippling Blow vind ik ook erg goed, jammer dat die 't album niet gehaald heeft, en dat 'n B-Side en Bonus Track is geworden..
