Heroes is vorige week afgelopen.

Bron: United Hollywoodquote:The AMPTP and each of its member companies have a legal obligation to bargain in good faith with the WGA. Their unilateral walkout from negotiations last Friday and their on-going refusal to bargain is illegal under the National Labor Relations Act. Therefore the WGA today filed Unfair Labor Practice charges against the AMPTP with the National Labor Relations Board.
quote:The WGA's filing of a complaint with the NLRB reminds us of the old lawyers' adage: When the facts are on your side, argue the facts. When the law is on your side, argue the law. And when you don't have either the law or the facts on your side, you pound the table. The WGA has now been reduced to pounding the table, and this baseless, desperate NLRB complaint is just the latest indication that the WGA's negotiating strategy has achieved nothing for working writers.
quote:That said, the latest AMPTP news release, issued in response to the WGA filing unfair labor practice charges against the media companies, misquotes that "old lawyers' adage: When the facts are on your side, argue the facts. When the law is on your side, argue the law. And when you don't have either the law or the facts on your side, you pound the table." The actual saying is “When the law is against you, pound the facts, when the facts are against you, pound the law, and when they’re both against you, pound the table”. For a bunch of Democrats, the flackery of Fabiani & Lehane sure are committing a heck of a lot of Bushisms.

Ja en CBS is wel lid van de AMPTP i.t.t. World Wide Pants.

They'll start with fresh shows Jan. 2.
http://www.latebyte.nl/viewarticle.php?article_id=94quote:Talkshows keren terug
Jay Leno gaf de volgende verklaring: “I remained positive during the talks and while they were still at the table discussing a solution. ‘The Tonight Show’ remained dark in support of our writing staff. Now that the talks have broken down and there are no further negotiations scheduled I feel it’s my responsibility to get my 100 nonwriting staff, which were laid off, back to work. We fully support our writers, and I think they understand my decision.”
Conan O'Brien had het volgende te melden: “With the New Year upon us, I am left with a difficult decision. Either go back to work and keep my staff employed or stay dark and allow 80 people, many of whom have worked for me for 14 years, to lose their jobs. If my show were entirely scripted I would have no choice. But the truth is that shows like mine are hybrids, with both written and nonwritten content. An unwritten version of ‘Late Night,’ though not desirable, is possible and no one has to be fired. So, it is only after a great deal of thought that I have decided to go back on the air on Jan. 2. I will make clear, on the program, my support for the writers, and I’ll do the best version of ‘Late Night’ I can under the circumstances.”

NEW YORK (AP) - "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and "The Colbert Report" will resume production on Jan. 7 without their striking writers, the Comedy Central network announced Thursday.
Both late-night shows were shuttered after the Hollywood writers strike began seven weeks ago.
